I am a club coach and co-owner and consistently working to create practice plans across multiple age groups, different surfaces and different seasons. The content provided in Efficient Practice Design was valuable, easy to digest and presented in a manner that was easy to implement. After viewing Efficient Practice Design, we made the decision as club owners/coaches to make major changes to our spring 2024 content and practice planning. This course gave us fresh ideas and really hit home the idea to keep the main idea....the main idea! The notion of anticipating changes in any given practice plan was also wildly valuable and allows for vulnerability on the coaching end. The best thing about Efficient Practice Design is the short, concise videos with information that will change the way you coach and plan your practices. It will challenge your thinking and allow you to freely plan a practice without over thinking or over planning!

Alan's course on Efficient Practice Design does a fantastic job of simplifying and clarifying how one should approach practice design. The resources and structure(s) that he provides will elevate any coaching staff's workflow, while allowing them to 'keep the main thing, the main thing'.

As a high school and club coach for the past 20 years I want to ensure that I continue to grow and learn along with the game and today's athletes. I thoroughly enjoyed working through Alan's Efficient Practice Design coaching course because it brought clarity to some of the strategies that I already implement while offering some new ideas and techniques to coaching that will create more impactful practices. One of the greatest take aways for me was repetition without repetition. I appreciated the example of the one on one drills, which developed the same skill while using a variety of teaching methods. Thanks Alan for taking the time to help us serve our athletes well.

We’re just 4 months away from June 15th. Due to our location, it is both time-consuming and expensive to get to all of the schools that she has been emailing since last spring. She needs to carefully select where to attend clinics this spring, and The Recruiting Advisor provided additional questions for her to ask herself to narrow the list down. The advisor is a great AI tool!

I am a life-long learner and student-of-the-game (nerd) who is currently training small groups (3-4 people) ages U12 through college. As a huge fan of Alan's work since his collaborative ball-on coaching blog days, I've read his posts, tweets, and books he's published. Alan never ceases to produce simple, practical tools that immediately impact coaches. Before I took the Efficient Practice Design course, I thought this might be repetitive content found elsewhere on his site. However, once I started, I quickly realized how vital and fresh this course is. Our small group trainings are hour-long weekly sessions. Therefore, time is extremely limited and important to me. The tools for managing transitions were immediately impactful. Over time, I know I will continue to grow in selecting the most beneficial exercises for the main goal of the training session and in becoming more effective and concise in discussions. The course content is easily accessible. The philosophical backgrounds provide a baseline foundation to the WHY behind the WHAT and HOWs. There are plenty of nuggets to immediately see 1% gains in your sessions, especially the customizable templates!

The Recruiting Advisor is a great idea. The recruiting process is a pain and any assistance with valuable correct information is helpful! It helped with what to do and what not to do when emailing coaches updates, especially with an injury.

I recently used The Field Hockey Recruiting Playbook as a recruit working to earn a spot at a D1 program, and it has been incredibly helpful. The flexibility of having both videos and text was a game-changer for me. The videos provided great insights, and the text allowed me to read through the content when I didn’t have my headphones. It gave me clear, actionable guidance, making it much easier to navigate the recruiting process independently. The best part is how straightforward it is, breaking everything down in a way that is easy to follow. Initially, I wasn’t sure if I really needed it, but after using it, I can confidently say it was 100% worth it. It saved me time and gave me the clarity I needed. I'm still working on fixing my emails as the module recommends. I know what I need to do differently; now I just need to start doing what's been suggested. Doing this independently is so much better than having my mom tell me what needs to get done. I like being independent, and this is preparing me for college. Not only did Alan provide a great platform, but he is also an incredible US U16 and D1 coach who knows his stuff, making this resource even more valuable. I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking to play in college!

As a parent of a "late bloomer", I cannot share how important Alan's newsletter about this was for us to read and discuss. His advice pertains not only to the recruiting process, but for all areas of sport recognition, accomplishments, and non-sport achievements. Overall, his information has been so well curated to answer the questions so many of us have. This one hit the bullseye and isn't really addressed anywhere else... so, thank you!

Alan's Field Hockey Recruiting Playbook course and newsletters have been a game-changer for how I help my athletes navigate their recruiting. His insight into what college coaches are looking for coupled with his clear breakdown of the process has allowed me a fresh lens for and how to better attack this recruiting landscape. After coaching for 14 years, it is harder than ever to get that division 1 spot for my kids. Alan has breathed new life into how I aid my athletes. There has been a tremendous amount of change within NCAA and collegiate FH. His course and frank way of breaking down the process, has helped me speak with more authority. I feel much more confident that I'm pointing my families in the right direction. Alan has helped me craft example emails for my athletes to write to coaches that will help them stand out. He has helped me decode what coaches actually mean in their interactions. He gives tips on when to push communication, and examples of reasonable things to ask coaches throughout the recruiting timeline. I've learned a lot in the past few months, and I cannot say enough good things about Alan's course and newsletter.

Alan’s blogs and resources are incredibly helpful & especially timely. It’s difficult for kids navigating college goals due to the ever-changing rules in recruiting & roster limits, pressures that cultivate through social media, etc. Most parents didn’t play college sport, and even if they did, the landscape is completely different now than a generation ago. With Alan's resources as a guide, parents and student-athletes are better situated to take some control in the process & create space for the joy that all youth should experience through competing in sport. Alan uses his platform in a responsible and caring manner, and all field hockey families benefit from his efforts.

The Recruiting Advisor prepared us for a visit, interpret coach communication, understand the recruiting timeline, provide guidance on what to write when and why, and noted what NCAA rules are for specific situations. I was really happy with the answers I received - it helped validate our strategy and provided real tips for evaluating every situation. I am a parent of a 2027 D3 hopeful.... now is the time to use this to get to the finish line!

The Recruiting Advisor really helped me understand whether my daughter was where she needed to be for her timeline and what steps she needed to take next. Also loved that I could ask GK specific questions (which are sometimes hard to come by). It asked me follow up questions to help improve the answer - that was great. I support teams developing AI products and advise based on responsible AI (attorney perspective). I was eager to try this out because I and so many other parents have questions about recruiting, and often are digging through resources to find answers. I think this is very promising!

I initially tested The Recruiting Advisor as part of its pre-launch, and it immediately became clear: I wish we had this tool two years ago when we started our daughter’s (Class of 2028) field hockey recruiting process. I have more than 10 years of D1 recruiting experience through lacrosse and soccer, so I’m not new to how recruiting works. But field hockey has its own rhythm and nuances—and that’s where The Recruiting Advisor is genuinely different from generic AI. It’s built specifically for field hockey recruiting, with a purpose-built knowledge base and learning recommendations that provide practical, sport-specific guidance.

What impressed me most is how useful it is for both sides of the journey. For student-athletes, The Recruiting Advisor helps you understand the process, build a smart plan, communicate with confidence, and handle real situations as they happen—what to say, when to say it, and how to respond.

For parents, it brings clarity and structure: the right strategy, the right timing, and the right actions. During the pre-launch, I “back tested” our daughter’s past communications and key actions from the last two years. The insights on overall strategy, timing, messaging, and real-world scenarios were incredibly helpful—and candidly, having that clarity earlier would have saved our family (and more importantly our daughter) a considerable amount of time and could have increased visibility and engagement with her target schools.

With four months to go until June 15 she will be using The Recruiting Advisor to help her finish the process strong.
