This course exceeds my expectation. The Basics is all I need. I wish I'd found your course/ internet info. earlier, then I can properly avoid the hurdles that I encountered in prior year. Yes, I was that timid mouse you were talking about, worst of it, a disoriented timid mouse. Time is of the essence. It's dawn on me - I've got myself a lot to learn clinically, So glad I struck the right path since you are here with us/ the newbies.

I took the mini course and I think it was really helpful! I am not a new grad but I have worked in administrative nursing roles for many years and am transitioning to bedside nursing and have much to re-learn. I found these tips to be realistic and supportive with just the right amount of tips for how to jump this "new" hurdle. I have been practicing giving report and most have gone fine but there were a few that were disorganized and annoying even to me.....so when the oncoming nurse was snarky, it did make me feel very insecure. This mini course has a couple great tips for those situations and I appreciated them. I will seek more of these classes to support myself in this transition. Thanks!

I'm new to the US and previously worked in the Philippines as HD and also in the Medicine unit. Part of my plan is to go back in bedside nursing and step out also in my comfort zone in dialysis and this course is really helpful and gave me a glimpse on what to do if ill be hired in the MedSurg unit. Dealing with rude staffs, Stay on the ground and do not internalize are the things that impacted me since knowing my personality that I tend to be affected if I'm being questioned with people showing condescending behavior. It will actually sometimes faze my performance sometimes. I really appreciate staffs who are very willing to teach newbies like me.

Nursing Report was really great! Can't wait to start Med Surg Mindset. Every new nurse or anyone needing help with giving hand-off reports could really use this. Katie keeps things pertinent and simple. I really appreciate the explanations, as I always like to know the "why" behind, pretty much everything! Thank you for being a Nurse Educator who really cares about helping new nurses.

Very informative and helpful lessons!! Thank you for identifying and addressing so many issues I have with receiving and providing report. I took notes while watching the video and learned so much. I would love to see a completed report sheet in addition to the blank one. Thanks again! I wish I could afford to take the whole med surg course!!!

As a new grad, your Nursing Report Basics helped me realize something I do inadvertently, giving report in a manner that is almost seeking of permission, timid, mousey shy manner, when I am full aware that I got this. It helped call my attention to the tone I should be using when doing TOA, and being confident with how to handle situations with nit-picky nurses.

I finished my first week at the orientation on the Med/Surge unit, and I felt like I was all over the place. It is hard for me to catch up on things as senior nurses do everything fast and automatically; they do not go deep into explaining what they just did or why. I feel like they expect you to know it already. But I cannot know everything; that is my first nursing job, and all of my clinicals were online through vSim and Shadow Health due to COVID. You cannot learn from that?! I am grateful I found "FreshRN." That is exactly what I needed. I admire how Kati Kleber explains stuff easily and understandably in a friendly manner. I just finished the Nursing Report Basics and I am about to dig into the Med-Surge course. Thank you for everything you do for new nurses.

I really appreciate this Nursing Report Basics course you offered. I am a new nurse and report has been one of the most dreaded events of the shift for me...giving to the oncoming nurse. Nursing Report Basics helped to confirm the things I was doing right and gave me ideas on how to be better. I like the section about how to deal with a rude off going nurse because I dealt with that recently and it really bothered me. Now it doesn't phase me at all and I know how to prepare myself for nurses who are condescending like that.

Amazing content and advice. You hit all the point that I fear and face during report hand off and receiving. I am two years into bedside nursing, but this is still extremely relevant and I wish I watched it when I was a new grad! Thank you so much :)

I appreciate the time you took to provide us with this mini course. It was very helpful and made me feel a little more confident with report. We tend to get the entire pt hx and it becomes a bit cumbersome when not all of it is relevant to the pt's admission. Thank you so much!!!

I really got a lot out of your stuff about giving report to the nitpicking nurse. I've been a nurse for six months and I've been working four shifts a week. The job is hard and I'm learning every shift but I've found the stuff I take home with me is not the rapid response or code but a nasty nurse at shift change. Just two days ago on my fifth shift in six days I had to wait forty-five minutes to give report only to have the nurse ask me things like "How does she take her pills?" I would have told you if they needed to be crushed in apple sauce or one at a time. I was hot. Your video was very helpful and I'll implement some of it moving forward. Thanks.

Hi Kati! I took the Nursing Report Basics course and I absolutely loved it. It helped me understand what the purpose of report actually is and what you should be focusing on when giving report. As a new grad nurse finding out what you should be focusing on when giving report makes it so much easier. Knowing what to focus on also makes it smoother when giving report to the oncoming nurse. I love how you have a video and you also sum up the points for the video because I am a visual and auditory learner. I also wanted to thank you for a course that specifically for new grad nurses.

[NURSING REPORT BASICS & TELEMETRY BASICS] I am an RN with years of experience in Skilled Nursing Facilities and Community-Based Case Management. I hope to eventually work in acute care but I needed a "refresher course" as it's been years since my last clinical rotation at a med-surg/cardiac unit. Having worked as a registry nurse many moons ago, I understand that the shift reporting in my current long-term care environment typically focuses on different aspects of patient care compared to that of a hospital setting. Because of this, I cannot fully express how grateful I am to have recently encountered the Fresh RN podcast, and being able to access Kati's valuable knowledge and perspectives, including her "Nursing Report Basics" and Telemetry programs. They have given me a renewed sense of wellness and positive outlook. Kati is such a great communicator and motivational influence. I intend to enroll in at least one of her nursing package courses soon.

Just finished "Nursing Report Basics." Even as a seasoned nurse, I love these review courses from Kati's perspective--I always pick up something new that I can use. I also appreciate these courses to use with any preceptees and nursing students; it's nice to be reminded of things that newer nurses may be particularly concerned about and that we can help them with.

[NURSING REPORT BASICS] That was so helpful! I am on day#2 as a new grad on a med-surg floor and I feel like I don't understand anything of what's going on for the pool of patients assigned to my preceptor. I can now see how I can better prepare myself before getting handoff reports with my nurse. I like how you focus on what is crucial. We can so easily get lost into the details. Thank you :)
