I did learn things I have not heard covered! Reminders of common sense will help resolve more issues than it seems possible... this course gives the confidence needed to realize it is more than technical training, although necessary.

The focus on ongoing client management and admin processes felt more practical than other training. It went deeper into what actually happens day to day, not just the big milestones. It was pretty easy to stay engaged. The real examples and direct advice made it feel relevant instead of theoretical. I’ve already noticed moments where issues could have been tracked better or where emails were forwarded without much context. It made me more aware of how small habits impact the bigger picture.

Customer Success Manager / BeneSmart

After a month in my new position as a Customer Success Manager, I began the Introduction to Employee Benefits Business course. Although my background is in Human Resources, this is my first experience working specifically with employee benefits, and I haven't received other formal training in this area. Most of the topics covered in the training were unfamiliar, but I've picked up some knowledge of the terms and concepts from personal experience with my own benefits and guidance from my manager as I get settled into the role. Completing the course has given me a clearer understanding of the client life cycle, particularly regarding planning and strategy timelines, renewals, open enrollment periods, post-enrollment, and ongoing client management. The course kept me engaged thanks to helpful prep modules like “writing things down,” reminders to dedicate focused study time, and module notes with useful prompts. Personally, I preferred not to use the provided PDF files for note-taking, so I moved the Module notes template into a Word document instead. I really enjoyed the EveryFirm animated videos— there was a lot packed into those short videos, and I watched them multiple times. I also appreciated how Jen Walsh shared her own experiences, offering real-life examples from situations she’s faced. The consistent structure of the modules—such as ‘Three Ways to Stand Out,’ ‘2 Ways Teams Go Sideways,’ and ‘Language and Lingo’—made it easier to know what to expect as I moved through the modules. The downloadable transcripts were especially useful; I often jotted down a quick note during the video and then referred back to the transcript to review and reinforce my understanding. Finally, the unit reviews helped tie everything together for me.

The training was super comprehensive. I loved the way Jenn explained concepts slowly, and I was able to comprehend them with the help of the downloadable transcripts. I love how easy it was to maneuver the system, and I really did enjoy this training, to be honest.
