I joined Invest for Better because my best friend was leading a circle but I quickly learned that a room full of whip-smart women makes money talk surprisingly sparkly. I am forever changed by two women in my circle who had been values-aligned investors for over 50 years. Their intentionality with their money and practical tips to get started inspired me. Thanks to my Invest for Better Circle, I am now a proud member of a credit union.

At the start of the year, I set out to align my money with my values—and to take action. I joined Invest for Better because I wanted more than just information; I was seeking a community of women actively making change with their investments. That’s exactly what I found. Leading a cohort deepened my financial understanding in ways I hadn’t anticipated. I became more confident navigating investment options and more grounded in the purpose behind my financial decisions. One of the most powerful takeaways was learning about values-based screening—realizing I could divest from companies that don’t reflect my beliefs while still pursuing strong returns. That insight transformed how I approach both my retirement and flexible investment accounts. Since joining the Invest for Better community, I’ve started reallocating a meaningful portion of my portfolio toward impact funds and private investments. I’ve also become more confident in conversations with my financial advisor, asking sharper, more intentional questions that reflect my goals. Most importantly, the support from fellow members has been invaluable. The openness, generosity, and shared sense of purpose have made this journey not only possible—but empowering.

I truly believe circles are almost for any woman on her investing journey–whether she’s starting to think about investing or is someone who already has quite a lot of investable assets. Our circles have a mix of people everywhere along their investment journey. As much as I’ve personally gained out of the financial and investing information, I’ve gotten much more out of building a community of women who are willing to share their money stories and personal experiences of what they’ve gotten right and wrong.

I gained a lot of valuable insights into my own investment approach and portfolio. There was a lot of info provided throughout the course - which seemed somewhat overwhelming at times - but overall I'm grateful to have it all at my fingertips now as I move forward. I'm sure I'll be revisiting and referencing much of the material as I make future investment decisions. My Leader was engaging, supportive, and quick to share her own tips and insights which was most helpful to me (and I think the rest of my circle members, too).

The most valuable part of the course was setting time aside to work on this/ to think about this and checking in with a like minded group of passionate women. It was fun and informative, and a great motivation to continue to go deeper.

Meeting and learning alongside a community of thoughtful, values-driven women was incredibly inspiring. The readings and group discussions opened my eyes to how investing can be a tool not just for personal financial growth, but for advancing social, environmental, and community goals. I especially valued the emphasis on aligning investments with my personal values, something I hadn’t considered deeply before. This course gave me both the language and the confidence to make intentional, values-aligned financial choices.

I appreciate the vast amount of materials that are available to us to continue learning about how to invest our money so that it not only benefits us but the world at large.

I still support this work, and feel it is intensely valuable to ensure that women have financial literacy. In my family, I have seen the disparity of the women who understand and the ones who don't. Very scary about how it can affect one's life. 5/20's session on "Secure Your Wealth & Future in the Current Political Climate with Anna N’Jie Konte, MBA, CFP®" was very useful.

This program has shifted how I think about money. It helped me realize that investing isn’t just about profit. It’s a powerful way to live out my values and create change in the world. Thank you for cultivating such a supportive, empowering space for women to explore these ideas together. The diversity of perspectives in the cohort made the experience especially rich.

There's unstoppable power in women working together as active stewards of capital to make the world better. Being part of a community eager to learn from one another how to harness that power is both inspiring and hugely fun.

The Invest for Better sessions have opened the eyes of so many women in our circle about how much more power they hold to make real change than they previously understood. Two of them have already made impact investments midway through our sessions! It’s so inspiring to be a part of this growing movement.

Women have the power to change the world, but so often we underestimate that power or let uncertainty hold us back. Through Invest for Better, we are equipping women with the knowledge and tools they need to shift their money to align with their values. Our group has created a casual, fun space for women to learn from and share with one another about their journey to take control of their money and its potential.

Over the past year I’ve been learning, listening, watching and restructuring my investment and retirement portfolios. I joined the Dow Jane’s Intentional Investing program, which introduced me to Janine and her incredible book ,which led me to IFB and so much more. I’ve made some changes but still have more to do and more to learn. I’m definitely interested in finding a group to grow and learn from/with. I’m feeling incredibly empowered by this knowledge, by taking the reins of my finances and also by starting my teen daughter on a path of financial literacy and impact awareness.

Through the courses I have taken at Invest for Better, I realized it was possible to make a difference with my money. I realized I can do this. And, I realized that am not alone. A lot of women are doing this
