Lecturer / Researcher - The Hague University of Applied Sciences.
The course helped me most with good case studies of products, processes, and systems based on Biomimicry.
They will inspire my students in the minor Design with Nature, at The Hague University of Applied Sciences.

Chairperson, RK Foundations
I am an educationist with over two decades of experience in running higher educational institutions and leading diverse educational projects in India. By passion, I am also an aviator.
Deep within, I have always believed that nature holds answers to most of life’s questions. Growing up rooted in traditional values while also being exposed to global education has only strengthened this inner conviction.
Over time, I found myself increasingly disillusioned with current educational systems and their lack of deeper purpose. I began searching for a path that could meaningfully align nature with education and with life itself.
That search is what brought me to the Learn Biomimicry platform, and I am truly glad it did. I am also a doctoral researcher at Golden Gate University, where I intend to further develop and rigorously test a nature-based educational framework as part of my academic work.
The course resonates strongly with what I believe is the need of the hour. Through deeper study in this field, I aspire to design and implement a robust, resilient, and regenerative educational model - one that prepares future generations to engage confidently with modern technology while remaining grounded in natural wisdom, sustainability, and purposeful living.

Assistant Professor and Lecturer
Participating in the Learn Biomimicry Educator Programme has been one of the most transformative experiences of my professional life.
It reshaped how I think about education, design, and problem-solving. Before joining, I relied on conventional analytical approaches; now, I instinctively turn to nature as my first guide.
The programme opened my eyes to an entirely new way of seeing the world. I began to notice context, function, biological strategies, systems, natural designs, and interdependencies everywhere - across leaves, rivers, organisms, and even social environments.
This shift in perception sparked innovative ideas for my project and enabled me to weave Life’s Principles into a regenerative education framework. The Learn Biomimicry team played a profound role in this transformation. Their feedback was thoughtful, supportive, and empowering. They created a learning space that was both rigorous and nurturing, giving me the confidence to explore boldly while grounding my work in strong methodology.
The programme also integrated seamlessly into my life and work. Despite my responsibilities, each module felt energising, meaningful, and immediately applicable to my context.
By the end, I was not only inspired but truly equipped with a renewed vision, a stronger sense of purpose, and a project that reflects the true power of learning from nature. It has changed how I teach, how I design, and how I imagine the future.
Thank you so much, Jessica Berliner and Leigh Aultman, for your unwavering support. After years of teaching about nature, your mentorship helped me finally learn from nature and with nature. You made all the difference and continue to inspire me to trust in nature’s wisdom.
Ultimately, I now deeply believe that whatever challenge we seek to address, nature’s wisdom can serve as our model, measure, and mentor.

Principal at Sequoia Biomimicry Education & Advocacy/ Owner of San Francisco's Hometown Creamery
I am a small business owner in the food industry, but chose to further my knowledge base and education in the Biomimicry Educator Programme so that I could better pursue my passion and calling for biomimicry education.
It is with the more in-depth knowledge of biomimicry that I crafted a design for an international urban planning competition and received The Sir Norman Foster Award for Innovation.
Through the program I have been able to build up content I can use for my portfolio and continue to be awestruck and moved by the discipline, its innovations and its possibilities.

Founder, M-PowerHouse of Greater Pittsburgh
My experience with the Learn Biomimicry Educator Programme has been nothing short of transformational.
Under the impeccable leadership of Jess Berliner and her extraordinary team, I discovered not just a new way of thinking - but a new way of seeing. Their wisdom, intentionality, and deep reverence for nature opened a powerful doorway for me, one that has reshaped how I approach education, community upliftment, and workforce development.
As the Founder, President, and CEO of M-PowerHouse of Greater Pittsburgh, I am leading a multifaceted biomimicry initiative rooted in apiary science, myrmecology, and entomology. With our partners at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, Pittsburgh Public Schools, and the research team from The Pittsburgh Study, we are examining how the ethics and organization of ants and bees mirror our own social, educational, and economic ecosystems.
The parallels are undeniable - how colonies support one another, how shared purpose fuels survival, how communication strengthens community, and how every member contributes to the prosperity of the whole. Learn Biomimicry gave me the language, framework, and confidence to elevate this vision. Jess and her team helped me coalesce intellect, ecological insight, and cultural relevance into a scalable model that can transform systems.
Their guidance showed me how biomimicry can strengthen a micro, mezzo, and macro workforce development ecosystem - one that is adaptive, resilient, interdependent, and rooted in nature’s successful strategies.
How Learning Biomimicry Helped Me:
Biomimicry gave me a third-eye perspective - not simply “thinking outside the box,” but realising that in nature there is no box at all. Everything is fluid, interconnected, responsive, and full of possibility. This shift expanded my creativity, sharpened my leadership, and deepened my belief that solutions to humanity’s greatest challenges already exist all around us.
The Best Thing About Biomimicry
Biomimicry creates change agents at every level. It teaches us to breathe differently, see differently, listen differently — and to become better stewards of this planet. Biomimicry is not a curriculum; it is a consciousness. It equips us to teach, build, heal, design, and innovate with intention, humility, and harmony.
How I Will Apply Biomimicry Moving Forward
I will continue integrating biomimicry into the lives of underrepresented students and families across Pittsburgh through edutainment, STEAM education, and workforce innovation. Our focus on apiary science and ant-based social systems will guide us in building communities that work like healthy hives — interdependent, cooperative, intelligent, and purpose-driven. Biomimicry will remain at the heart of our Cradle-to-Career pipeline as we strengthen the educational ecosystem and prepare the future workforce of the 21st century.
With heartfelt gratitude to Jess Berliner and her impeccable Learn Biomimicry team: Thank you for giving me the tools to see nature not as a metaphor, but as a mentor. Thank you for empowering me to transform ideas into impact. And thank you for helping M-PowerHouse elevate the voices, talents, and futures of the youth we serve.

Transition Manager Circular Economy, Provincial Government of Gelderland, the Netherlands
It has been again a wonderful journey in this Biomimicry Educators Programme! Quite complementary to the Biomimicry Practitioners Programme I did a few years ago.
As a transition manager Circular Economy, biomimicry offers a great lens to let students think like ecosystems. During the process I realised the importance of first knowing nature's system rules, the Earth Operating Conditions as nature's laws for all life on earth, including us. Both in your leadership as in the circular economy.
The Life's Principles are a great way to formulate key questions for designing or evaluating a business model conducive to life ("Biomimicry Business Model Canvas"). Also the Ethos and Reconnect are very important parts of applying biomimicry in the transition towards a circular economy, because next to system change we also need motivational change, remembering we are part of nature, and nature provides us with so many narratives that inspire and give hope!
During the programme I developed modules on motivational change and system change for the HAN University of Applied Sciences, their master Circular Economy, which I will be able to implement as part of the programme in April 2026.
Looking forward to doing this! Grateful to Jess, Leigh and Alistair in providing feedback and support to me in this inspiring biomimicry journey!
