I had the incredible privilege of attending the Biomimicry Confluence, and it was truly a transformative experience. 

As a gathering of biomimics and individuals passionate about sustainability, it provided a unique platform for connecting, learning, and envisioning a better future. The atmosphere was electric with shared enthusiasm and a collective vision for solving both global and local challenges through biomimicry principles. 

 The Biomimicry Confluence showcased groundbreaking research and innovation inspired by nature and fostered deep conversations and collaborations among attendees. It was inspiring to witness how biomimicry can offer tangible solutions to pressing environmental issues, from climate change to resource depletion. 

What made the Confluence truly exceptional was its emphasis on systemic thinking and holistic approaches to problem-solving. It wasn't just about mimicking nature's forms or processes but understanding and integrating its underlying principles into every aspect of our lives and industries. 

Overall, the Biomimicry Confluence was a beacon of hope and inspiration, reminding us that by working together and drawing from the wisdom of the natural world, we can create a more sustainable and resilient future for generations to come.

I was thoroughly impressed with the organization and execution of Biomimicry Confluence.  My sincere thanks go out to the organising team for their excellent work. Speakers were exceptional, and their presentations significantly enlightened me regarding biomimicry and its allied fields. A truly valuable event. 

What I enjoyed most about the Biomimicry Confluence was how genuinely alive it felt—not just as an event, but as an ecosystem of ideas, care, and shared practice. Saskia van den Muijsenberg’s thoughtfulness stood out deeply to me—the way she wove personal experience with professional insight was such a beautiful reminder that evolution and mutualism are not just ecological concepts, but lived ones. 

Jacques Chirazi offered such grounded inspiration. His reflections on innovation—and the reminder that anything is possible—carried the kind of curiosity and patience that biomimicry needs most. You can feel how much imagination and awe he brings to every conversation. 

It was also energizing to hear from Ines Garcia, especially in how she’s applying biomimicry within business systems—working at the edges of organizations to help them grow more adaptive, connected, and resilient. It’s exactly that kind of edge work that bridges design, ecology, and leadership in meaningful ways. 

I left feeling both grounded and expanded—reminded that biomimicry isn’t just about learning from nature’s brilliance, but about remembering that we are part of that brilliance, too. 

 If you get the chance to attend a future Confluence, I can’t recommend it enough. It’s a heartfelt yet strategic space to learn, exchange ideas, and reconnect with a global community of people designing a future rooted in life’s intelligence.

The Biomimicry Confluence was such an inspiring and motivating experience. It was so wonderful to connect with others who are doing this work.   What was most exciting for me is the number of people around the globe, in different professions that are doing biomimicry! 

Since the event, a number of us who are focused on biomimicry education have been connecting and finding ways to learn from and support each other.

Two days and 40 countries represented, filled with countless thought-provoking conversations and collaborations continue to expand and deepen with each day! 

A heartfelt thank you to the Learn Biomimicry team for their generous spirits and love for this field! That genuine commitment to biomimicry came through. We're hugely grateful in how you orchestrated such a profoundly diverse, dedicated, and inspiring gathering of biomimics. 

The intimate, inclusive atmosphere you fostered catalyzed a vibrant exchange of knowledge and support will extend far beyond the conclusion of the first (of hopefully many!) events.

Despite lacking a scientific background, I found the Biomimicry Confluence to be remarkably inclusive and captivating. The facilitators asked thought-provoking questions during breakout sessions. The session durations, topics, and speaker selection was well designed. Being surrounded by such intelligent, optimistic, and thoughtful individuals was truly a privilege.

The Biomimicry Confluence was truly diverse and the pioneers of the field took us through the actual innovative work done and being done in the field of Biomimicry. 

My area of research and work is in the field of SDGs, environment development, climate change and also see them through the lens of Psychology, Sociology, Botany, Ornithology and other natural sciences. 

I have been active in learning about nature but biomimicry and Janine's book a few years back led to the Aha moment for me, and since than I have been immersed in learning more from nature and about biomimicry applications. Learning biomimicry through the three courses of Learn Biomimicry made me come in contact with the actual working of the fascinating subject and also briefly with Claire Janisch.
