Recently I spoke to 𝟭𝟱𝟬+ high school students at LearnIt’s Leadership & Project Management workshop. During the panel, a student asked “What’s one non-negotiable skill everyone should have?” "Deliver what you promise" I said. It sounds simple, but it’s the foundation of trust, leadership, and credibility. In every role I’ve been in, this one thing has stood out. The people who consistently follow through become the ones everyone counts on. I wish this was something we were taught in school. Kudos to Dhiraj Hariramani, LearnIt's team and the York Catholic District School Board for shaping this space for young leaders. Ritika Saraswat, Dragos Cada, and Mike Thibodeau, what a panel. 🙌

🗓️ On Friday, November 7th, Toronto Catholic District School Board students from Loretto Abbey’s SHSM Business program and Brebeuf’s SHSM ICT program participated in an incredible Sector Partnered Experience (SPE) hosted by LearnIt and Slalom Consulting! ℹ️ LearnIt delivers immersive experiences led by professionals, bringing the real world directly into high school classrooms. Slalom is a next-generation professional services & business consulting company creating value at the intersection of business, technology, and humanity. 🗣️The day kicked off with an inspiring keynote from Kevin Derman MSc MBA, Slalom’s AI Innovation Lab’s National Strategic Alliance Director, who shared insights into future AI trends, emerging technologies, and a message of hope and possibility for younger generations. 💭Throughout the day, students were introduced to the Design Thinking process and applied it to solve the challenge: “Design an everyday AI assistant that helps people make decisions when they feel overwhelmed or face too many choices.” Students were instructed and inspired by Bernie Uche, MBA who reviewed the Design Thinking Process and discussed Empathy Maps as a tool to visualize what clients are experiencing. Students collaborated to identifying a need, brainstormed possible solutions, and consolidated their learning into final pitch. 💻 Over lunch, they heard powerful career stories from Slalom’s Industry Panel and got a tour Slalom’s inspiring, collaborative workspaces. The day wrapped up with the students presenting their exciting 2-minute elevator pitches for their AI Assistants to the industry panel, showcasing their innovation, teamwork, and design-thinking skills! 🙌 A huge thank you to the LearnIt and Slalom teams for providing this unforgettable experiential learning opportunity for our SHSM students! #shsm #collaboration 🏫🤖💻

What an awesome bunch of young minds. I left this event feeling so optimistic about this generation moving into the driving seat of our futures over the next decade. Congratulations on this initiative and so glad I could participate and share some of the work we are doing at Slalom.

We received this feedback from a teacher after our ICE Training for Manufacturing/Robotics students at YSpace, York University last week. Reading messages like this reminds us why we do what we do. The students worked on hands-on robotics tasks at YSpace York University and learned about entrepreneurship and prototyping from industry professionals. The teacher wrote: "This experience was incredibly inspiring, not only for the students, but for me as their teacher." When the experience resonates with teachers too, that's when we know it worked. #SHSM

Last Thursday, November 20th, the LearnIt team hosted students from St. Maximilian Kolbe CHS at YSpace, York University for an engaging ICE Manufacturing/Robotics workshop. Truly an inspiring experience!

A great discussion on the panel and an even better set of follow up conversations today. And incredibly curious and engaged group! What stood out for me was the curiosity on how to best get involved and start shaping their future ambitions!
