Hux was adopted into our family in the Fall after being rescued from a kill shelter in Kentucky and fostered by Happy Bark in Erie PA. We had adopted a Corgi in the spring who really seemed to want a friend and Hux seemed to need one too. Although Hux seemed very shy around people he and our Corgi were fast friends. Hux is a very sweet boy who we lived immediately. Since he came from the south he was not appreciative of the snow and cold. We bought him a sweater and had to be careful about how much he was outside . When I left for work the morning he was found, Hux was snuggled into our couch with a blanket. Imagine my shock to find out that by noon he was down the street shivering in the cold. We did eventually discover that not only could Hux turn our door handle but he could also pull the door open and left himself out. Who knew? I am so grateful that the people down the street saw his tag and called the pet recovery. He was shivering and scared when I got there because he had really only been out of the shelter a few months. Although we had been walking him daily , I am not convinced he would have made his way back . He is only safe because of this service.
