I have been trying my hand at this music stuff for a little over a year up to this point, and the course was extremely helpful in putting words and definitions to things I'd been trying to figure out on my own. Navie D is a great teacher, and I'm very impressed with how great the course is overall. Definitely worth the value -- especially with the discord and all the benefits from that. I would say that my favorite part of all of it is the discord, the assignments, and the ability to have a network of other producers that provide legitimate feedback and we all help one another get better. That alone was worth my money. Personally, I would like to see a section that specifically covers technical aspects of beatmaking. The basics are great, but I feel it could be beneficial to add a section that covers different plugins and what they do specifically. This could just be a list of videos you've created on your youtube channel for reference, or specific descriptions made for the course. I'm mostly thinking about compression, but I feel some basic plugins that could be discussed could be limiters, duckers, flangers, reverb, etc. I would suggest this course to literally anyone that wants to get better at music production. The fundamentals are there, and it's extremely beneficial.

Navie D is a truly gifted educator. His ability to deconstruct is his greatest tool. All genres and musical styles are created and built upon throughout their history. This is what gives definition to the genre or style. Beat-Making is no different. Better Beatmaker is the best musical education tool that I have come across in my 15 years of making music. The reason is that the course deconstructs the elements of beat making down to a palatable, easy to comprehend framework that allows one to create within the polarities of the suggested limitations that are exposed throughout the course, based on what I can imagine was an intense study of the genre over many years. What separates this course from other courses or educational tools I have come across is its incredible way that it remains focused on the technical aspects of musical composition without becoming boring and uninteresting. Navie has a great way of using analogy and metaphor to drive points home after giving very concise technical knowledge about the ideas he is exploring. The video editing makes it easy to follow what he is teaching as well. There was never a point made in the course without a visual example shared. Another quality of the course that I appreciated was the structure. Each video (as far as I can remember) was under 10 minutes. Navie does not waste time. Everything that is stated is stated concisely. At the end of the course, I truly understood the canvas that I was painting on as a Beat-Maker. Navie's course elevated me from a novice Beat-Maker, still figuring stuff out, blindly making discoveries, to a confident Beat-Maker, no longer blindly making discoveries, but consciously following paths that I had not tread, which are no longer obscured from my vision. Navie gave me a map to help navigate my creativity. This map has elevated my understanding & decision making during the process of creation in a way that allows me to focus on the creative aspects of the work with more freedom and ease, rather than constantly being frustrated at what to do next. And that is JUST the course. The community that Navie has built has been just as instrumental in my growth as the videos in the course. In most public groups, there is an array of producers involved, from beginner to intermediate producers, to internet trolls, bored and starved for attention. But in the Better Beatmaker course community, EVERY producer is serious about the craft of making beats. There are monthly assignments where we all get direct feedback from Navie himself or his incredible team of senior members. There are also beat contests with significant cash prizes and even beat reconstructions where a senior member makes a beat with the included packs in the course and gives a complete breakdown on how it was made. The support I have received from this group has been incredible and genuinely helpful. All in all, I would give this course a 10/10 rating. Fabulous experience. I had just come from a different course that I could not even get through because it was just too technical and I couldn't follow along easily. I really appreciate the obvious effort you put into giving the viewer a solid ground up foundation on beat design. I felt like I got more out of you 5 minute segments than I did on a whole hour of some videos on YouTube. 

This course in nothing less than fantastic. Navie is straight to the point and concise. I feel as this course has brought me knowledge that would have taken me years to learn.

I really wish I knew about this course when I first started making beats a few years ago. It’s been a slow grind of being inconsistent and getting frustrated with the learning process but the course affirmed to me that I’ve been on the right path with my approach to beat making and gave me more complete knowledge to move forward and start building a catalog. First off, Navie D has great didactical skills and is able to get his knowledge across in a very structured, calm and respectful manner. By watching his tutorials, his BBM course and the accompanying live streams I have learned a lot. To name a few: My beats were always way too full and I learned that leaving space is far more interesting and pleasant to listen to. I never had much attention for the ‘sonic palette’, I learned the importance of having a ‘three dimensional’ beat not only panning and frequency range, but also the importance of depth and foreground. In addition, I learned to get past your average stock sound. I always felt that sound design would be something I would get into eventually, but Navie D teaches relatively simple techniques to create your own unique sound without having to go through an extensive synthesis course first. Also, you don’t have to take a complete mixing and mastering course to get a rich and full sound. Navie D teaches some very useful tips and tricks on how you can obtain this. To keep it short, highly recommended. It’s not just the course, but the bi-weekly challenges with feedback have become a great push to actually finish beats and a moment in time to look forward to.

I would recommend this to my friends who've been making beats for a while and want to realign with what got them into beatmaking in the first place. Trying to create in our current situation can be tough, and even trying to make music and do other things in your life can be though. The course really pulled into perspective VERY EARLY the reason why I picked this up in the first place, and the reason I'll never put it back down. Before joining the Better Beatmaker course my music was decent but I still lacked a lot of fundamental things that make a music sound good such as arrangement, mixing, sound selection the basic things a beginner struggle with. I watch Navie D on YouTube all the time! So when I heard he was putting out a Better Beatmaker course I knew I had to jump on it. I'm glad I did. Navie D provides numerous courses in starting a beat, building a beat, arranging a beat, marketing and much more pretty much pointing you in the direction on how to become a producer for the newbies like myself. My favorite section hands down was beat arrangement before watching Navie Ds Better Beatmaker course I struggled with this but since taking the course I've learned a lot. I encourage all the new comers and the veterans of music production to jump on the Better Beatmaker course once again Navie D has not disappointed.

The course has been wonderful so far. I just about finished my beat I had been working on for a little while last night because of the course. Just a few final touches today now that my ears are rested. I know I still have a long ways to go, but with the help of the course, I already feel a huge improvement in my sound selection and just trusting my ear. Was able to swap out a few sounds yesterday and felt they fit the beat better and helped tie the music together. My structuring and arrangement was also struggling, but that didn't feel as daunting or intimidating after working through that part of the course. All in all man I am feeling great! Super inspired and cannot wait for all of the live streams and challenges with course members.

Telling you the truth... at first I wasn't sure if I should spend money for this course, I wasn't sure if it's worth it. After a few lessons I realized it's pure gold for me and worth every dollar!!!

I can honestly say I learned at least one thing from each lesson and it was really easy to follow along with what you were doing even for inexperienced producers. The most helpful part to me was, there were a lot of really useful tips for people (like myself) on how to create extra space within their beats. Your POI idea is a really good concept to help guide you through your beat as well. Overall so far it was well worth the money.
