As a junior engineer with a non-traditional background, I found "Code Review Champion" to be an invaluable resource. Navigating the world of code reviews can be daunting: there are surprisingly few resources on the subject, and standards vary across teams and are rarely documented! "Code Review Champion" stands out by providing practical and empathetic advice to help individuals strengthen their code review skills and cultivate best practices within their teams. The book frames the primary goal of code reviews as knowledge sharing, offering actionable suggestions to enable teams to better achieve that goal. These insights have already had a positive impact on my review practices, increasing my confidence in effectively giving and receiving feedback. "Code Review Champion" has had a real and meaningful impact on my growth as an engineer. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to enhance their code review skills, especially those who are new to the field or coming from non-traditional backgrounds.

This book would have saved me from situations I had to experience the hard way--resolving disagreements with coworkers, realizing when to let things go, and making it easy for my reviewer to review my code, leading to faster reviews. Great book for anyone looking to level up their code review skills and be a rockstar teammate!

Code Review Champions has given me solid methods on how to strengthen the impact I can have on my team as a software engineer. The book gives great reasoning on why code reviews are so important and suggests ways it can be made more meaningful, whether I'm the one writing or receiving feedback. Code reviews are no longer a "chore", nor a thing to be feared. I think one of the best things I have learned from reading this book is how to ask good questions and that I should approach a pull request as an opportunity for discussion and knowledge sharing, not just a way to "find bugs" or typos. It has made me a better engineer because I learned that reviewing code is one of the best ways to understand the system that is being worked on. Anyone who is considering leveling up in their career as a software engineer should read this book.
