We are using Curipod to help 4th graders improve their writing by giving them immediate feedback so they can revise and grow right away. Bonus: students are excited to write!

As a 5th grade teacher, I can honestly say Curipod immediately stood out to me after just one day of using it in my classroom. The text evidence game is one of the most thoughtfully designed literacy activities I’ve seen in a learning platform in a very long time. My students were instantly engaged by the point-based competition system, but what impressed me most was the intentional design behind it. Students are rewarded for selecting precise, meaningful text evidence instead of over-highlighting large chunks of text. If they try to “game” the system by selecting too much, they actually lose points. That naturally encourages close reading, critical thinking, rereading, and careful analysis in a way that feels authentic and student-driven. What I especially love is that, unlike many educational platforms where students quickly discover loopholes to spam answers or rack up points without real thinking, that simply doesn’t seem possible here. The platform rewards quality thinking over quantity, and students quickly realize they must truly engage with the text to succeed. Genuinely innovative instructional design. Kudos to the Curipod team!

So we discovered a thing this week…Curipod! In this AI infused world we have to expose our scholars to innovative practices. Using AI to score our responses has better prepared them to create organized and cohesive writing samples. We are on our way to greatness. Not only in Reading, but Science and Math as well. A 5th grade teacher asked if I had seen her school testing results. When I said no, she sent them over. @curipod user and cheerleader saw double digit gains! Here’s the math: ELA 2022 3rd 54%. 2023 4th 51%. 2024 5th 69%!!! Math 2022 3rd 48%. 2023 4th 33%. 2024 5th 56%!!! 🧡
