As a reservoir engineer I enjoy working with tNav mainly because of its intuitive user interface, vast manuals and training library. They allow me to learn in an autodidact manner. Another important aspect is the fast customer support that our team and I receive from Bastian Steffens (TNAV-Support). He is attentive and work quite closely with our team to make sure we have all tools we need to work. He designed tailored trainings for me and the team effectively targeting our specific needs. With tNavigator we were able to work with embedded models from static modeling to connecting the surface network to various reservoirs and running an embedded simulation varying geological parameters to sensing surface facilities. Based on my previous reservoir simulation experience, we would not have been able to work with this Mega models at OXY without the help of tNAV utilizing our GPU clusters! With new trends in CCUS and CCS certifications, and a need to track the CO2 plum in the whole basin, our abilities as simulation engineers would be really limited if not impossible without GPU clusters!

We use tNavigator for our Geothermal and Lithium extraction project and find the software quite useful. tNavigator provides great flexibility and speed to deal with special cases as well as options for sensitivity and uncertainty quantification. For us, that are developing new concepts in the geothermal industry, the flexibility provided by coupling Python codes to the simulator enables us to implement any in-house developed technology-specific workflow easily. It is also worth mentioning that RFD provides professional and responsive support which keeps close contact with our reservoir engineers whenever needed.

During the summer months 2023 I was working on a project simulating the effect of active zonal control by multiple ICV’s along producers and injectors. Even though I have been using tNavigator simulator for almost 10 years now, I never used Model Designer (MD) and/or Well Designer (WD). I started using MD and WD in June, two weeks before going on summer vacation, I was away for three weeks and picked up the modelling again in July. So, effectively, the first part of the work was done in a two-month period, getting accustomed to the software, setting up the models, and running a large number of scenarios. And yes, I got a lot of support from Oksana and Alexey, but from a software point of view, pretty effective I would say!

I have been using tNavigator as the main reservoir simulator for a while now. Over the last half year, I’ve also moved integrated production modelling to tNavigator, and have together with good support from Rock Flow Dynamics built an integrated model that has the necessary amount of detail and includes two reservoir models. I’m therefore able to give realistic production profiles taking into consideration the behaviour of both reservoirs as well as their interaction and combined effects when flowing through the same surface facilities. Although there have been a few setbacks along the way while setting up the project, the support team has really made a great effort into solving the issues with high focus and the necessary people involved, and has even developed an additional update of the software to implement options required to overcome any challenges. All in all, I’m very satisfied with both running simulations in tNavigator due to its flexibility and performance, but also integrated modelling due to the ease of results post-processing of traditionally separate domains within the same interface.

We find tNavigator a very useful reservoir simulation tool through usage of the integrated modules that help us keep the projects in a single software solution which inevitably leads to reduced software spendings without sacrificing the quality. The decision to purchase tNavigator was made six years ago due to the promising possibilities of very efficient hardware usage and parallel processing capabilities in the area of reservoir simulation. Intuitive, quick and reliable support. I've been using Tnavigator's reservoir simulation platform for a number of years across hydrocarbon production and carbon storage workscopes in Australia. The learning curve was flat and its functionality is in a layout which makes sense. Its hybrid CPU+GPU processing engine is efficient enough to allow large uncertainty workflows and unscaled models to be run from the convenience of a workstation. Their support team in this region is simply legendary. Quick to respond to any simulation challenges and open to suggestions for improvement. My choice from the suite of commercial simulators!

Features such as well log importing to build reservoir models and input log data and workflows, reduce the time and effort to build models and obtain results. The software is intuitive and feature-rich, and computation time is faster due to the use of GPU processors versus CPU’s.

The use of tNavigator started with the migration from an existing CMG model into tNav. Having the model already created and with the key properties assigned, including the simulation steps and rules is quite worry to move it to a new software. In this case it was tNavigator. However, considering the tNav simulation speed and the amazing support team in RFD; I decided to transfer it, and everything was completed within 2 weeks. The model then help me to predict our next well. The image shows the forecast line from the tNavigator simulation run and a year later the well was drilled. The prediction vs well production are within 95% accuracy. Several realizations were created. Today we are intensively developing the area. Thanks RFD team :)

I have used many different dynamic reservoir simulators during my professional career as a Reservoir Engineer. In 2021, we decided to test tNavigator based on the many favourable recommendations from other colleagues. The many functionalities and easy to follow user interface caught our attention right away. I was running several models within the day we installed the software. We ran several benchmarks with the simulator we had previously and tNavigator came on top with flying colors. What has impressed even more about tNavigator and RFD is the impeccable technical support. It is done timely and RFD’s technical experts (Alexandra Kidd) are ready to engage either through e-mails or Zoom meeting to solve any issue we may have. We were one of the first teams in ONGC offshore group to start with the evaluation of tNavigator which helps ONGC with the procurement. I am a Canada based Reservoir Engineer working on medium to heavy oil field waterflood development. I have used tNav to model waterflood, polymerflood, and gas/CO2 injection for conventional and heavy oil pools located in Western Canadian Sedimentary basin. tNav has an edge over it's contemporaries on user friendliness and organization of the training materials. As some calculations can be pushed to the GPUs, I have seen significant run time improvement over other software. And finally, kudos to the experts personnel providing technical support. I’m a Reservoir Engineer with experience of using different numerical simulation softwares in the past. I would say tNavigator is the most compatible interface from one software to another allowing a seamless transition of knowledge that means a fresh tNav user could hand on the software straightforward. The simulation running is stable and speedy, and no tunning of control parameters required. Model Designer provides “one-stop” solution for Reservoir Engineers to construct, check, edit, run and review the model and the results. The recent version (v22.4) has become an integrated package from geoscience to engineering covering a wide scope of disciplines of oil and gas industry. 

I have been using tNavigator since 2012, and the functionalities of the software have improved and developed through years in order to capture and ease geological and dynamical modelling workflows. By implementing fully integrated workflows in tNavigator pre-processor, we had opportunities to explore the range of possibilities and outcomes of an optimisation scenario in a shorter time, allowing the team to have more reliable and consistent simulation results. On a different project, the use of tNavigator during the appraisal stage was key for assessing the reservoir risks with a more objective approach, when compared to the classical exploration method. The integrated environment allowed us to carry out a quick, reliable study and make confident decisions. Following the results of this project, we have since adopted this approach in other prospects I would be very happy to recommend tNavigator as software package, as I am very satisfied with solution and the level of support provided by the team.

I'm a Principal Development Geologist working in EOR projects (all in fluvial systems intervals) I used Tnavigator for building with Geology Designer and Amazonas algorithm alternative scenarios in facies and properties population. What is best for me in G D is how quick and fast runs every single action for building multiple static scenarios taking in count and quantifying all the main uncertainties.

I find tNavigator a very useful reservoir tool, the integration is unique, you can run everything integrated without loose coupling, that is, all the equations are solved in the same timestep. This would be for the case of coupling subsurface with surface, that help us keep the projects in a single software solution which inevitably leads to reduced software spendings without sacrificing the quality.

I found tNavigator really easy to use with extensive functionality and helpful manuals and on-line training. The geological modelling capability in Geology Designer has massively improved over the last few years and provides a fully functioning platform for geomodel building, with the advantage that it is directly coupled to the core simulation elements of tNavigator. The new functionality of Ensemble Modelling AHM within tNavigator has also given us the ability to investigate the impact of key uncertainties (both static and dynamic) across a large numbers models and significantly improve the history match of all cases at the same time. This is really useful when dealing with large or complex fields were a significant number of factors are important, especially key geological uncertainties or variables as we can include these in fully integrated workflows.

By using tNavigator advance technologies, we had better opportunities to explorer more complex and challenging tasks related to static and dynamic modeling workflows that we were hesitatant to apply in the past due to software and hardware limitations. Currently we are considering RFD as the key strategic partner who is providing us with great technology and technical support to fulfil our goals and visions in very efficient and practical ways.

I am an experienced geomodeller, having previously used many of the well-known software packages available. tNavigator geomodelling (Geology Designer) is new technology whose functionality is improving all the time. Geology Designer is now in a place where I can build all the technically challenging geomodels that I need.
