I love every time I am able to attend a retreat or event at the Chapter House. Recently I attended the Somatic Spirituality retreat. I came with a mix of preconceived ideas and stereotypes as well as quiet notions of what I knew within my body about my God and my faith. That retreat and all of the others allowed me space to ask questions, share ideas and think deeply about these ideas. I left the Somatic Spirituality with a better understanding for myself of how God views the body and how I view it. I was equipped with resources including scripture and books to further my study, as well as new friends. I'm thankful to for the way the Chapter House creates a welcoming home for sharing ideas and asking questions.

I recently had the option to attend an all-expenses-paid conference out of town on the same day that a local retreat was happening at the Chapter House. Of course, I chose the Chapter House, just like I do every month. There's nothing better.

The best thing about the Chapter House is its unique character. No other institution I’m aware of has had the same type of mission combined with the forward-thinking approach Dave uses, resulting in a thinking space unlike any other. The Chapter House has impacted the way I think and interact with other Christians, expanding my perspectives and refining my thoughts. Dave is a truly special man—and I’m not just saying that because he’s my father. He has a unique gift for bringing any ambitious vision to life, and uses his talents as a teacher, leader, and minister to touch the lives of as many as he possibly can. The praises I could give him would go on for a long time, but they all boil down to this: My father is wholeheartedly and unabashedly good.

This space is truly remarkable, as it fosters an environment of openness, vulnerability and connectedness like no other. Walking in feels like returning home to family after a long journey, where you can just set your bags down and take a deep breath. The presence of The Holy Spirit is tangible in this space touching the hearts of all those that dwell inside it I leave feeling fulfilled and equip to follow the direct God had placed before me. I eagerly anticipate the next retreat. I’m incredibly grateful to Dave and the community for creating such a transformative space. Thank you for providing a haven where individuals can com together and experience the Fossores Effect. :) Dave has been an amazing pastor, friend, mentor and person to my family and those we love for many years. When you’re at the Chapter House, there is often times a special moment when you realize God is there and wants you there. In the world where we’re trying to listen to God it’s so affirming to know that you’re at the right place at the right time and in his plans. Dave pulls this off with his immense knowledge and absolute humility. I would encourage everyone to try to experience the growth, spiritual development, and love that happens at the Chapter House. And a chance to be inspired by some very cool individuals.

I wasn't prepared for the special quality of my experience at the Chapter House. The level of thoughtfulness, care, and detail represented in the house is mirrored by David and his facilitation. If you're considering whether or not an experience at the house would be worthwhile, rest assured that David is highly competent at creating space for each participant to receive what God wants to give.

The Chapter House is family. It’s my home. The community is authentic and real. Conversations oscillate between the profound and the earthly—and often make my belly hurt from laughter. The hospitality is healing. The insights and wisdom is better than I’ve received anywhere—in classrooms and with world class leaders. Seriously, McDonald’s insights are sharper and more practical. Time at the Chapter House is a conduit of grace and a catalyst for movement in my life. This place is home. Fossorians are family!
