[ORTHO STRONG] I have been a nurse for 3 years but will be new to the ortho/trauma unit next week. I wanted to get an idea of what my patient population would look like and relevant nursing considerations, etc. I feel like I got that and more! [ORTHO STRONG] I really liked that they didn't unnecessarily explain complex surgical terms or surgery details and instead just highlighted the big takeaways and key points that the nurse would need to know. I also really liked how relevant to floor nursing the course was and they mentioned helpful tips for having a successful shift like coordinating with PT/OT about pain medication.

I replied to your email after taking the ortho strong course which was very helpful for me. It provided me with a deeper understanding of what occurs during hip and knee replacements, the recovery process, and how I can implement interventions as a nurse to make the healing process smoother. Also the explanation of the paging system and what constitutes a quality page was really important and something I wish I learned about earlier!
