I will definitely be able to take this knowledge to the bedside to help me become a more proficient neuro nurse! Assessment videos were very helpful! I work on a neuro med-surg unit, so most of the modules were applicable for providing either refreshers or an increase in understanding on relevant topics. (Some content was more for ICU but it is still great to know about, and maybe someday I'll venture to that specialty!)

[MED-SURG MINDSET] I absolutely loved it, it is a long story but in short, this literally changed my nursing life and myself. I am a baby nurse who is about to start working as a nurse in 2 weeks! I used this course for like 3 weeks to 1 month and I absolutely loved it. What's special about this course, is that it's touching and very educational. I was not ready at all even though I passed with 75 questions on the NCLEX; I can surely say this course prepared me to be a successful nurse (maybe more than my school...). [BREAKTHROUGH ICU] I had been recommending this course and your free content on my unit for WEEKS. Nobody seemed super interested. I left out a copy of your ICU drip chart at my nurses station one shift… lo and behold I suddenly noticed photocopies of it at the other nurse stations, taped to other more experienced RNs' clipboards. Lot of useful information to enhance my nursing practice. It gave me a comprehensive review of ICU care and practices. Presently working as dialysis nurse but this course helps me to correlate my dialysis care in collaboration with icu nurses and providers. Thank you to all educators who develop this course.

I finished my first week at the orientation on the Med/Surge unit, and I felt like I was all over the place. It is hard for me to catch up on things as senior nurses do everything fast and automatically; they do not go deep into explaining what they just did or why. I feel like they expect you to know it already. But I cannot know everything; that is my first nursing job, and all of my clinicals were online through vSim and Shadow Health due to COVID. I'm 4 weeks off of orientation in the ED and had my first experience with Afib with RVR a couple nights ago. It was chaotic for me because I didn't fully grasp what was happening. I knew it was an extremely urgent matter, but I had little understanding about the pathophysiology of Afib with RVR and the treatments to be ordered. This mini course really opened my eyes to the WHY it's urgent. Kati breaks down a complex topic into an easy to understand analogy, which I'm certain I'm going to be able to retain. I'm slightly more confident how that I'll be able to go into my next Afib with RVR with a little more ease. THANK YOU!

I had a patient with history of AFIB and she was admitted in my unit. In less than an hour, I saw her heart rate go up from 70-80 to 130s, 160's and 172! I notified my preceptor and we contacted the hospitalist. We got orders for STAT EKG and amiodarone bolus and maintenance dose. Thank you Kati Kleber and team for the refresher and review!

As a new grad in the ICU this course helped me tremendously. My ICU preceptor can only give me so much info in such a short time so this course really helped me understand things in a deeper level, breaking it down to my level of understanding.

This course was amazing and really helped me understand my post-stroke patients better! I work in a critical care step-down unit and we see many conscious stroke patients. Before taking this course, I was unaware that peak swelling after an ischemic stroke is day 3. Now I have a better understanding of what to expect from my conscious post-stroke patients as well as what an abnormal neuro assessment looks like!

I really got a lot out of your stuff about giving report to the nitpicking nurse. I've been a nurse for six months and I've been working four shifts a week. The job is hard and I'm learning every shift but I've found the stuff I take home with me is not the rapid response or code but a nasty nurse at shift change. Just two days ago on my fifth shift in six days I had to wait forty-five minutes to give report only to have the nurse ask me things like "How does she take her pills?" Hi Kati! I took the Nursing Report Basics course and I absolutely loved it. It helped me understand what the purpose of report actually is and what you should be focusing on when giving report. As a new grad nurse finding out what you should be focusing on when giving report makes it so much easier. Knowing what to focus on also makes it smoother when giving report to the oncoming nurse. I love how you have a video and you also sum up the points for the video because I am a visual and auditory learner. I also wanted to thank you for a course that is free and specifically for new grad nurses.

Using your HIRED course as a guide, I crafted a resume and cover letter and was promptly invited to an interview. I was expecting a one-on-one interview with the manager, but it was a panel interview with four people from the ICU. I'm so glad I listened to your podcasts and went through the "HIRED" behavioral interview questions - I was super nervous, but also felt very well prepared. And clearly, it was an effective process because I got a call the NEXT day that they were offering me an ICU position in their new grad program!

I took the ICU drip for beginners and loved it! Although I am not a new RN, I found the content and rationale easy to follow. I have worked on a Med-surg unit and now the OR and I found the lesson on specific medications a great review. Thank you for making this an interesting read.

Holy crap Ashley! Your ICU course is saving my life right now! I just had my first three shifts in the ICU with a patient post open-heart. She ended up having an ischemic bowel and had a bowel resection so I saw the crazy labs that show metabolic acidosis and she was put on CRRT for a while due to her kidneys shutting down post-op. She was put back on a vent after her bowel resection so I got to see all of those settings and she was also on several drips throughout the whole weekend. Everything is starting to come together with your course and I just wanted to let you know how amazing it is and how appreciated you are! And Kati as well!

I really enjoyed the latter half of this course, the first few episodes were like another member said, not really for me (although my previous experience is as a tech and not a nurse). I really appreciated that portion being "dripped" down to us and enjoyed the way you explained it. I know you all are really busy and may not get a chance to listen to the voiceovers, but some of them came out a bit choppy with inconsistent volume. Perhaps a different mic could help make the volume more consistent?

I hope to eventually work in acute care but I needed a "refresher course" as it's been years since my last clinical rotation at a med-surg/cardiac unit. Having worked as a registry nurse many moons ago, I understand that the shift reporting in my current long-term care environment typically focuses on different aspects of patient care compared to that of a hospital setting. Because of this, I cannot fully express how grateful I am to have recently encountered the Fresh RN podcast, and being able to access Kati's valuable knowledge and perspectives, including her "Nursing Report Basics" and Telemetry programs. Just finished "Nursing Report Basics." Even as a seasoned nurse, I love these review courses from Kati's perspective--I always pick up something new that I can use. I also appreciate these courses to use with any preceptees and nursing students; it's nice to be reminded of things that newer nurses may be particularly concerned about and that we can help them with.

I went throught the Hired course and wasn't sure at first if it would help. I'm more of a mediocre job interviewee mainly due to nerves during the interview process. I can say without a doubt that this course helped me become more confident during the interview process. I felt like I was more professional as well as able to show them who I am as a nurse during the interview and while job shadowing. Be sure to follow through with a thank you email! My grandpa also told me "the squeaky wheel gets the oil" but I never knew how to do that without looking like I was annoying. This course helped show how while being professional!

[NEURO WISE] I enrolled in this course to help me be more prepared for my new job in the neuro ICU. Although I don’t start until December, I have already had some success! I currently work in the neuro step-down unit. I noticed my patient was still on IVP Dilantin after about 5 days with no history of seizures. I remembered the course said you have a potential risk for seizures if your stroke is in the temporal lobe, but his was in the cerebellum. I brought it up to the CRNP that night and she was appalled that he was getting IVP for no good reason due to its harshness on the veins. She changed it to PO and asked me to follow up with the neurologist in the morning to see if he still wants to continue it. It made me feel really smart and like I did something really awesome for my patient! :) I plan to work on the course some more today, thank you so much for this opportunity!

I am learning so much in this course so far, and it has been worth every penny. The breathing techniques have been extremely helpful. I am a little over 2 months into my orientation as a new graduate nurse. Due to covid, I literally had only virtual clinicals and no internship. I was hired in a small rural hospital with only 20 beds on the med/surg unit. I was so full of anxiety, and I wanted so desperately to please everyone around me.
