We were delighted to welcome Bradley Busch to De La Salle College to deliver staff training on Retrieval and Metacognition. Our expectations were high, having seen Bradley speak in other settings and through our ongoing engagement with InnerDrive, as well as our use of The Science of Learning in staff development.
Bradley exceeded those expectations. He carefully tailored the session to reflect the work we had already undertaken as a staff, building on existing practice rather than repeating it, and provided clear, practical strategies alongside high-quality resources for next steps.
Feedback from our staff was overwhelmingly positive. Colleagues valued the clarity, evidence base and immediate classroom applicability of the training. It was both affirming of the direction we are taking as a school and motivating in helping us refine and strengthen our practice further.

Apart from a most inspirational presentation, I found communicating with Dr. Claire Badger in advance of same to be very beneficial indeed. It enabled me to discuss the content of the sessions as well as the planning of the format together.
I had been aware of a very successful workshop delivered by InnerDrive in another school and my high expectations were confirmed indeed by Dr. Badger's training with our teaching staff.
This was our first time working with InnerDrive and the staff including myself found the presentation excellent. There was a high level of engagement throughout and a great rapport between the presenter and participants which resulted in the latter beginning the process of evaluation with regards to their present teaching methods and being inspired to look at further strategies as we strive to meet the needs of all of our learners.

Our Year 13 students initially hesitated to attend the intervention, preferring to revise. However, after discussing the benefits, everyone agreed to participate. Tia engaged in Year 13 from the moment she started the session. She guided them through various challenges they encountered in education, focusing on managing difficult emotions like anger, frustration, and exam stress, as well as coping with the demands of Sixth Form. Responding to a student request, Tia provided a comprehensive breakdown of the revision process. She shared strategic methods for managing thoughts and feelings, helping students feel more prepared and confident about their upcoming exams. By the end of the session, students left with a renewed enthusiasm for revision and practical tools to navigate their emotions. Tia's impact was evident; she received a heartfelt round of applause and cheers for her engaging delivery and genuine care. The students eagerly participated in role-plays and discussions, deeply absorbing the material. Her support thus far has sparked a newfound enthusiasm for revision and equipped our students with valuable emotional management skills. Additionally, her visual aids were excellent, enhancing the overall experience. I am pleased to have invited Tia to address the entire Key Stage Five in assembly.

Tia delivered an excellent session on performance under pressure to our Y13 students. The presentation was lively and engaging. We loved the way she got students involved and had lots of practical tips and memorable examples to help them deal with their upcoming practice exams and A levels next year. Tia also pointed us in the direction of some excellent online resources which we are using to further support our students. Edward delivered a session at our annual Teachers’ Conference on sharing research-based, practical strategies to support students to be able to retrieve and remember the things they learn.
Edwards session was exceptionally well received by our staff with many of them stating that their key takeaways from the day were from the session Edward delivered.
Edwards session was engaging, included humour and relevant activities meaning staff left feeling energised and keen to embed the specific retrieval practice techniques Edward had shared with them in their lessons to reinforce learning into our student’s long-term memories.
I often struggle to find education speakers that can adapt their knowledge and content to resonate with an audience from a Further Education setting, however Edward adapted his presentation perfectly to fit our audience.
I would recommend Edward as a speaker to other providers in a heartbeat.

Our academic team first heard about InnerDrive during the Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning Academy in the summer of 2023. Bradley Busch was our final speaker for the event, and our team was blown away with all that was packed into his presentation. In thinking about how we wanted to spend our professional development time with faculty this year, InnerDrive was first on our list to reach out to for an engaging, fast-paced, and highly informative session.
From the outset, I was thoroughly impressed by the responsiveness and professionalism demonstrated by Matt Shaw. His immediate response to our request, coupled with his easy accessibility, flexibility, and willingness to align the presentation with our specific objectives, set the stage for an exceptional experience.
From the moment Matt started speaking, it was evident that InnerDrive was going to deliver something truly exceptional. Our teaching faculty was captivated by the depth of knowledge and expertise shared during the session. The insights provided perfectly supported our work with mind brain education, reaffirming the importance of understanding neuroscience to guide our teaching and learning practices. The way InnerDrive seamlessly connected complex neuroscience concepts to practical classroom applications was not only enlightening but also incredibly inspiring.
What impressed us the most was the passion and dedication with which the InnerDrive team approached their presentation. Brad delivered an excellent session for our Early Career Teachers and PGCE students. He pitched it just right and he ensured that his audience understood that research doesn't answer all the questions, but is part of the puzzle when planning and delivering effective lessons. Brad was engaging; giving lots of real-world examples and giving us fun experiments to do. He was responsive to his audience and answered lots of questions. All of us left the session energised and full of ideas as to how we can use the information in our lessons. We will definitely be booking him again!

Edward Watson, founder and director of Inner Drive, gave the keynote speech at the inaugural conference of Harrow Collegiate Alliance (HCA) on The Science of Learning. Edward arrived in plenty of time for us to help him set up and talk through the context of the conference. Edward's delivery was informal and engaging so that he put everyone at ease with content that was well informed (as expected from Inner Drive!) and pitched at absolutely the right level to avoid cognitive overload but provide much food for thought. We look forward to working even more closely with Inner Drive in a variety of ways this academic year.

Claire's extensive knowledge of cognitive science was very evident. Theory was presented in an accessible way and the experiments kept people engaged. We were delighted to welcome Bradley Busch to De La Salle College to deliver staff training on Retrieval and Metacognition. Our expectations were high, having seen Bradley speak in other settings and through our ongoing engagement with InnerDrive, as well as our use of The Science of Learning in staff development.
Bradley exceeded those expectations. He carefully tailored the session to reflect the work we had already undertaken as a staff, building on existing practice rather than repeating it, and provided clear, practical strategies alongside high-quality resources for next steps.
Feedback from our staff was overwhelmingly positive. Colleagues valued the clarity, evidence base and immediate classroom applicability of the training. It was both affirming of the direction we are taking as a school and motivating in helping us refine and strengthen our practice further.

Apart from a most inspirational presentation, I found communicating with Dr. Claire Badger in advance of same to be very beneficial indeed. It enabled me to discuss the content of the sessions as well as the planning of the format together.
I had been aware of a very successful workshop delivered by InnerDrive in another school and my high expectations were confirmed indeed by Dr. Badger's training with our teaching staff.
This was our first time working with InnerDrive and the staff including myself found the presentation excellent. There was a high level of engagement throughout and a great rapport between the presenter and participants which resulted in the latter beginning the process of evaluation with regards to their present teaching methods and being inspired to look at further strategies as we strive to meet the needs of all of our learners.
