I had a great experience with Luv Michael and loved having to reach out to people for my fundraiser and informing them on the goals and facts about Luv Michael. I truly believe in the programs goals and think it's an amazing thing that these people are doing. It's not too hard to get donations for your fundraiser as long as you just reach out to enough people. Also 40 service hours from this is amazing, it helped me significantly exceed my service hours goals this year for National Honors Society which was only 24. So if you're in an extracurricular like NHS or another that requires community service, then I believe that Luv Michael is a perfect way to guarantee reaching that goal. The simplicity and the fact that it's fully online is also a plus for those who are introverted.

Starting with the onboarding Zoom call, I realized how overlooked the adult autistic community is, learning that up to 90% of autistic adults are unemployed. Before this, I mainly associated autism with children, but hearing the truth about adulthood made me realize how severe the crisis truly is. The Luv Micheal program also showed me that I, a 17-year-old high schooler, am strong enough to make a real "change" for the better of our society. Through fundraising, spreading awareness, and emailing representatives, I learned that my voice can help push for better resources and support. This was important to me because one of my biggest virtues in life is "change"; I tend to worry that I'm not enough to help those who are put at a disadvantage. However, the Luv Micheal program gave me all the necessary tools to effect change in my community. Ultimately, my favorite part of volunteering was sharing what I learned with my friends, family, and classmates. Most of them had never considered the challenges autistic adults face, and watching them become interested in helping was incredibly rewarding.
