What an accessible and surprising book. I’ve worked in sales for 25 years and run a global team. I’ve read numerous books on the topic but never found one that I would recommend to newbies in the business. “How To Sell Tech” is the book I’ve been looking for and will be part of our onboarding pack for all new starters. Its an easy read, motivating and set out beautifully in chapters than can be accessed in any order. Its full of ideas and plain speaking. The section on the difference between prospecting and just looking busy made me laugh out loud. Highly recommended to sales professionals at all levels but especially for junior ones trying to find their groove.

This book was a revelation to me after many years of marketing and sales with SaaS based companies in the broadcast, media and entertainment solutions space. I am a very impatient and generally sceptical reader of this type of book. This one had me gripped from Chapter One and I read the whole thing over a single weekend. It has revolutionised how I think about the traditional value proposition-lead approach and its limitations. Really looking forward to putting some of the techniques suggested to the test with my customer teams.

This book could well have been titled 'some mistakes that I have already made in the first year of my startup' - I wish I'd had this book 18 months ago. As a founder trying to build a product, find our product market fit and start to generate revenue, this is my go to guide. The chapters are short enough for me to read in a sitting and each rich enough in content to help me navigate this completely new area, and to avoid the pitfalls (that I'd already fallen into a few before I picked up the book). I've not finished it yet but the time I spend reading The Revenue Operations Playbook is time well invested.

And in then adopting the OKR framework I was able to take that vision and enact it with OKRs, KPIs and the associated Initiatives, while being able to keep track on progress and ensure focus was maintained and objectives met (mostly). 


Charlie's key aid for me beyond the OKR technical aspect, was his ability to understand my business really quickly and be able to use his career experience to help me build out the initiatives and then to add the momentum to get them kicked off. 6 months in we are on track!
