I was having a hard time pulling myself out of my pandemic fitness slump, so finally decided to ask for help from my friend Brian last fall. I was hoping for a little support getting back into a workout routine; what I’ve gotten is so much more! I had lived my whole life thinking my body wasn’t built for squats, they hurt my knees and I avoided doing them. I was 42 years old when I learned how to do a proper squat! Brian walked me through some simple adjustments and then patiently re-adjusted until I built the muscle memory. This has totally changed my interaction with the world. I went on an arduous backpacking trip recently (with Brian!) and it was the first hiking trip in 15 years that my right IT band didn’t act up. At all! My desk job posture has improved remarkably, and I have the pictures to prove the stark difference in just a few months. My back and neck no longer hurt during or after long plane rides. I can’t imagine having gotten to this point without Brian. Brian’s workout plan for me is personalized and always evolving, he actively seeks feedback, and he readily incorporates the feedback. He tracks every little growth edge. He accommodates injuries and refers out when needed. He somehow is the perfect balance of coach, cheerleader, and teammate. Do yourself a favor and book a few visits with Brian!

Hello! My name is Jennifer. Celebrating my 54th birthday today! I have specific goals that I’m always working towards whether it is gaining shoulder mobility, perfecting my form or increasing my strength. I am always trying to be the best version of myself mentally and physically. Before I started with Brian, I wasn’t consistent with my workouts and I always felt disorganized at the gym. Wandering around doing a little bit of this and that. I rarely felt that I hit all the right gears when I was left to my own devices. Since working with Brian all that has changed. Easy to follow workouts…hits all the right spots…and I go away feeling like I WORKED OUT! I’ve known Brian for a long time so the curve of having to get to know him and trust him was already there. Brian is the kind of trainer that will meet you where you are but absolutely will challenge you with encouragement, humor and always is your biggest cheerleader when you need one the most. I’ve been working with Brian for a couple of years now and he has coached me through the ups and downs and even two knee surgeries! Always the best part of my program is that it keeps changing. I get bored really easy so variety is the key for me. My advice for someone on the fence about working with Brian? Well…he is one of my most favorite humans who has taught me so much about myself and my wellness journey. No better person to have on your side!

Thank you, Brian, for giving me the confidence to start working out on my own. Being able to go to the gym without fear of embarrassing or hurting myself because I don’t know what I’m doing feels great. And knowing how to walk myself through a productive full body workout also feels good. Don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere as far as training goes, I get so much out of our time working together. I just want you to know that I appreciate you. 💪🏼

My names is James and I am currently working on losing excess body weight and increasing core body strength and resistance training, dietary/food portion control. Before I started training with Brian I had gained a LOT of weight—75 pounds to be exact. Something I’m even embarrassed to write. The pandemic, probably some depression, injuries, etc had played a part in getting me to being grossly out of shape. I had always been a runner and when I had some back/hip problems I had stopped running but continued to eat like I was running—something that didn’t help with my weight management and helped lead to my weight spiraling out of control. I was constantly tired, didn’t sleep well, joint pain, back pain, short of breath climbing stairs—when I once ran marathons! I felt like shit. I went to the doctor and saw my blood work and had a frank conversation with the doctor about my goals. There is a huge cardiac/stroke history in my family and my doctor explained my risk of a coronary/stroke event in the next 5 years and he explained he was was happy to do his best to keep me alive the best he could with medicine if I was happy. I realized then and there I was NOT happy and didn’t want to be on medications nor end up having a heart attack or stroke. By coincidence, or a stroke of luck—pun intended—I think I found Brian on Facebook from a friends profile. The best part about training with Brian is he accommodates the training to what is best for me. He motivates me to keep coming back. He has incredible knowledge about the human body and can adjust sessions based on what’s going on with the body. Sometimes we’ve had a session where it’s felt like physical therapy session and it’s what I needed. I’ve noticed huge changes in my body and mind since training with Brian and I’ve lost 40 pounds with more to go! My favorite part of the program is strength training. I’ve always hated weights. But somehow Brian makes it fun and motivates me! I want to have some nice guns one day! My advice to someone undecided about training with Brian is to check it out, come meet him and explore the options. What do you have to lose? As a middle aged male working in healthcare and someone that recently struggled with some health issues and massive weight gain I can truly say your health is invaluable and priceless.

I'm 78 and have always loved staying active, whether it's enjoying outdoor sports or participating in organized activities. However, years of desk work took a toll on my fitness, leaving me out of shape and overweight. Around 72, several factors jolted me into action: dissatisfaction with my reflection and overall well-being, a backpacking trip invitation from my daughter and granddaughter, and the realization that my 70s could lead to a less fulfilling life if I didn't make a change.
Starting my journey with a gym trainer, I shed 30 pounds. The improvement in how I felt was nothing short of transformative, propelling me to maintain my fitness through life's highs and lows. I've discovered the rhythm of life – persist through the low points, and the highs will follow.
Sadly, three months ago, I lost my first trainer in a tragic incident. That's when I began working with Brian. Initially cautious due to my age, Brian carefully gauged my capabilities before intensifying my workouts. His professionalism and understanding of my physical limits have earned my deep respect.
His holistic approach to 'full life' fitness sets Brian apart. He doesn't just focus on gym routines; he integrates all aspects of my lifestyle, including personal activities, nutritional awareness, habits, and enhancing my overall quality of life. Moreover, Brian's talent for fostering motivation and commitment is remarkable and, in my view, an essential trait for any coach.
At this stage in life, I see peers whose lifestyles are limited by their physical abilities while others remain vigorously active. I'm determined to be among the latter. While I may not control my lifespan, I certainly can influence the quality of my remaining years. Thanks to Brian's guidance, I'm doing just that.

After reaching my max weight of 370lb in November of 2019 that kick started me to find ways to lose weight, I met with a weight management doctor. Through Legacy I had bariatric surgery to help me lose weight. I decided to work on correcting my bad habits with food and exercise early so that when I would have my surgery in August of 2020 I would have an easier chance getting back on track after the recovery and being approved to exercise by my doctor. After recovering, I went though multiple personal trainers so that I could hopefully learn how to move my body and build confidence with exercising. Everyone that trained me before Brian couldn’t understand that I was at the very beginning trying to learn and pushed me to much to where I was in nothing but pain. Luckily I found a trainer that understood my needs and listened to me without judgement. Brian has been the best person that has helped me build a good foundation so that I can finally work towards my goal in my fitness journey.
