I worked with Eric for approximately 2 months and he really helped me see my job search in a whole new manner. Who would have thought I would find a new job in less than 90 days! I was looking for 6 months and doing the same thing over and over and not getting results. Once I applied some of the techniques from Eric’s course and guidance, things changed. I literally had an offer and was close to a 2nd offer which I stopped when I accepted the 1st offer. Eric teaches you about perspective and helps you look for jobs and interview in different ways. Additionally this guy is just a great person. He’s positive and compassionate and has your back. What more could you ask for in a coach! When I signed up and paid I was not sure I was doing the right thing but I can say now it was well worth the cost and time.

Eric is a massive help if you are in search of a new job, preparing for interviews or just in need of a mentor. He helped me tighten up my resume and thinks outside the box in doing so. Eric was extremely helpful as I navigated a job transition. Getting a job in D.C. is really hard. I was researching and searching for job openings on Tom Mantos when I came across an add for Eric Woodward. He had a lot of struggles like me, being in my 30s and just starting my career in D.C. Eric's ad really intrigued me. Eric worked for the First Lady Hillary Clinton and worked for her when she was a Senator. He even worked for the Smithsonian.
What really helped me by hiring Eric is he coached me through finding and interviewing for my job on the Hill. I was able to find a work culture where people respect each other. Eric helped me be the most attractive candidate out of 1200 applicants because he taught me a job isn't about what I want it is about them. Eric coached me through the interview process and walked me through it all.
In the end I was able to get the job I really wanted and had been looking for almost two years!
Now that I have my job Eric is helping me be the best I can be to not only do my job well but exceed expectations.

I got the book this spring 2016 after attending the authors workshop at my school, George Washington University. The presentation was filled with valuable insight into the internship process and the book solidifies what is necessary to know so you are not clueless and guessing your way through what an internship experience should feel like. This is a great choice to read for any young and seasoned adult seeking to understand the professional working world.

Working with Eric during my most recent job search is one of the best decisions I have made. I had been searching for a job since early September 2021 and receiving plenty of interviews. But, I was never able to get over the hurdle and land a position. I was desperate and started to lose confidence in myself, so I began searching on LinkedIn for a career coach. I came across Eric's profile and I liked what I read and I decided to set up a preliminary Q&A with him. I had my initial discussion with Eric on December 22nd. After chatting with Eric for close to 2 hours, I knew he was the person I needed as a career coach. Once hired, I met with Eric on (2) separate occasions and received the tools and overall confidence that I was missing and so desperately needed to get over that hurdle. I can happily say that within (3) weeks of first coming into contact with Eric, I was offered a position at a company that I had been interviewing with and I accepted the position. Hiring Eric has been one of the best professional decisions I have ever made.

Just want to take a moment to acknowledge Eric and thank him for his outreach. His 'Win at Work' program is pragmatic and fairly straightforward to incorporate in one's approach to navigating professional development and securing meaningful employment. As he readily admits, if the individual is not willing to view the world from a slightly different lens and work a bit at self-improvement, then 'Win at Work' will not help.
Eric is engaging and committed to seeing people succeed professionally. I both enjoyed my interaction with Eric and found his three strategies and eight tactics very useful.

Great experience, benefited and learned so much. Eric is a great motivator and in addition to the knowledge, tips and tricks on how to increase chances of being hired, you get always the friendly and human encouragement to always keep going, to try and never give up. Job searching sucks, but Eric helped me package myself and my skillset in a way that was responsive to what employers are looking for. I know writing cover letters is exhausting, especially when you feel like there's no guaranteed return. Eric helped me write targeted cover letters efficiently, so I was both applying to more positions and generating more interviews. He helped me prepare for and nail the interviews too. Eric was born to do this, and he exceeded all my high expectations. From his relationship building skills where he tailor-made the process to fit my unique career change situation, to offering tips from his own knowledge and experience in the global work of politics, management, and internships, Eric is the absolute very best. His career coaching advice was spot on. I overcame obstacles with his guidance, learned to dream bigger when he called out greatness in me, and gave me resume and interview tips that help me land the multiple job offers he predicted I would land. He surprised me with books in the mail to read with just the right encouraging words on the gift note. The books helped me shift my mindset in ways he could see were holding me back. As a former intern coordinator myself (and a former intern that landed a job), I can tell you that most interns today suck. Why? Because they don't follow the principals outlined in Eric's book. I wish every intern would read/study/get quizzed on the tips that Eric provides in this book. You may have an ivy league degree, but if you can't figure out a fax machine, you're pretty worthless. Ditto with not knowing what is considered 'appropriate' attire, or giving attitude when asked to file. Eric writes in a way that is easy to understand and gives real life examples on the advice that he offers. A fantastic book overall!!!

It is rare you get to meet the man behind the mask. I was fortunate, however, that I did get to meet Eric Woodard. Eric's humor, fun personality and passion shine throughout the book. Your Last Day of School is an entertaining, easy to read book that is able to hold a 20-year-olds attention - not an easy feat by any means. This book is packed with practical and insightful tips for students new to the workforce. It's a great book for your career!

This book is a must read for those just starting out. School teaches you a lot- but it often glosses over the practicalities and details of navigating an office and making yourself useful in any situation. Eric does a GREAT job of filling in those gaps. A lot of the advice offered here will serve you well both at your first internship and throughout your career. (anticipate the needs of others, remember proper phone etiquette, keep good records of contacts for future use, and say I don't know when you don't know.) I cannot wait to pass this book on to the my colleagues who work with interns and college students. I HIGHLY recommend it.

No nonsense. Irreverent. Thought provoking. Spot on. Totally practical. Essential. These all describe this book. Eric Woodard has been an intern and has hired and supervised interns. His wisdom is born from experience. He wields his verbal sword to cut to the heart of what is needed to acquire and succeed in an internship. If you are thinking of interning, you¹d be crazy not to read this.

Forty years ago, interns were usually in a hospital setting. These days, interns are in every profession. New graduates, as Mr Woodard explains, have neither skills nor experience but their internship has the potential to lead to lifelong successful positions if one follows his inspirational instructions. His communicative abilities shine through as he explains the importance of attire, writing things down, a watch,and what to do at meetings. Many scared 21yr olds will benefit from actually reading what is usually left unsaid. As graduation time approaches this spring, I will be ordering for those family and friends this valuable and inexpensive graduation gift.
