Japanese Noh Mask

I recently acquired a Hannya Noh mask as a decorative piece for my home. Upon unboxing it, I was immediately captivated by the exquisite craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail. The mask's design is truly striking, blending haunting allure with undeniable beauty. When viewed head-on, its expression is one of eerie menace and intense anger. Yet, with a slight downward tilt, the face of the demon transforms into a visage of profound sorrow, evoking a sense of mournful lamentation. The ability of this single mask to evoke such distinct and contrasting emotions with just a subtle change in perspective is profoundly impressive to me. I eagerly anticipate cherishing and admiring this piece for many years to come.
