Coming from a classical education, I hadn't realized that, before The Torch, my communication skills to my non-classical peers was subpar at best. I was blending in, not standing out; coasting, not guiding. Coach Julian helped lead me to think about conversations differently, how different people respond to different phrases. He changed how I interpret their responses, making me realize that some people truly don't respond to your way of communication, and that adaption has helped me to sway conversations' outcomes in a positive manner. The Torch would help young men overcome a common communication block that most men encounter at some point in their life and, by extent, thereby help achieve goals previously blocked by the ineptitude stemming from inexperience.
