I just regret that I did not have an appointment with Dr Hwu earlier and saved the time shifting through different programs. I was also misdiagnosed by a hand physiotherapist and orthopedic doctor. I received random diagnoses and advice that didn't help. I was told to rest, brace, and use pain killers but none of these "solutions" led to any progress.
After seeing no progress working with my doctors, I started doing research myself and found 1HP. I started working with Dr. Hwu and immediately knew that I was in the right hands. He explained my problem and had confidence that I could make a full recovery. I started performing endurance exercises, stretches, and nerve glides. Over time, I was able to return to work with no restrictions.
The most important thing I learned from my experience with 1HP is that endurance training is essential for overcoming RSI. There are other things that can help, but if you aren't doing the correct endurance exercises, your body won't be able to handle the demands placed on it.
Overall, I'm beyond grateful for my experience with 1HP and would recommend them to anyone facing hand, wrist, or arm pain.

Elliot Smithson was a major help, he was able to diagnose the problem and provided me with the program and clear instructions on how to use it. The tendonitis came about as I was in a show as a musician. I play guitar and it became very painful to play throughout the show’s run. Between lots of gaming and piano playing, I developed tendonitis in both wrists. I got put on leave at work when I began struggling to grip the things I needed to use to do my job. My wrists hurt so bad I could hardly tie my shoes, let alone game.
After being put on leave, I began bracing and resting my wrists like my doctor told me to. After 2 weeks, my wrists not only hurt even worse than before, but they were now very immobile, so I decided to start seeing a local hand therapist. He helped me get some mobility back, but after a month of work, my wrist pain and function wasn't really getting much better. I still couldn't work, game, or play piano, and I was beginning to feel pretty hopeless 6 weeks after being placed on leave from work.
While browsing Reddit, looking for answers on how to fix my persistent wrist pain, I came across posts from the 1-HP team. Long story short, I got the Wrist Pain Troubleshooter and ran it for every area of pain I was having. Within 1 week I was gaming again. Within 2 weeks my nerve pain and numbness was mostly resolved. By week 3 I could start reintroducing piano playing, and now, at week 4, I can do a 50 pull up workout and am cleared to go back to work again. I still have a bit to go to get back to 100%, but its been night and day difference over the course of 4 weeks.
MASSIVE thanks to the 1-HP team. Before I found you guys I was starting to feel like my hands were going to be out of commission for a long time, but your system works!

I'll be honest, I'm not a hardcore gamer, but I do spend more than enough time at my desk and play Counter-strike 2 a few hours per week. Doing the 1HP exercises and stretches, as well as just taking their posture advice has reduced my pain and discomfort significantly. You don't need to be a pro gamer to take good advice from people who understand what really causes pain that can extend into other parts of your life.

Before I met Dr. Mathew Hwu, I was in a place of despair. I genuinely had no clue how to move forward in my life. I was in pain every second I was awake, I spent hours watching videos, working with other specialists and attempting to figure out solves on my own.
After working with him, and only 5-6 video calls over 4 months, I have fully gotten past Thoracic Outlet Syndrome haunting me, yes I still do Physical therapy to upkeep a state of health, however I am never in pain!
I would recommend at least a consultation with Dr. Mathew Hwu for anyone struggling with TOS. Full stop, he is the best I have ever worked with in his field.

I was experiencing pain and fatigue in both hands. It got to the point that I was worried I would need to change careers. I reached out to 1HP and made an appointment. I'm a software developer and a pc gamer that has struggled with ulnar sided forearm/wrist pain for years.
The pain was pretty consistent to the point that I was basically only using my hand during work and even then the pain would very often increase to a 3-4.
I worked with Matt and he educated me about pain science, and helped me finally increase the strength and stamina of my arm, making huge progress towards finally fixing it.
I'm able to basically work without pain and enjoy gaming again.

I am a student that usually plays a ton of video games, and 1HP helped me get from not being able to play video games at all (for months) to playing completely unrestricted with the help of Dr. Hwu (Matt). To be honest, I wasn’t sure about 1HP at first, but the program of rest, medications, and bracing which my previous doctor prescribed wasn’t working. My previous doctor told me after enough rest I would be able to ease back in into gaming, however, when I tried to ease back into playing I couldn’t make it 15 minutes before the pain would start coming back. I was really concerned. That’s when I decided to seek help from 1HP. Thankfully Dr. Hwu helped me get a better understanding of why I was experiencing pain and how I could fix it with exercises targeting the flexor tendons in my wrists. It took some time because my wrists were so deconditioned, but after following the exercises Dr. Hwu prescribed (as well as Dr. Hwu helping me understand pain science better), I gradually was able to play again. After that I was able to slowly add more and more hours of play until I was back to normal. I can now play as much as I want without issues. My local doctor honestly had no clue what I had or how to help me recover, but for Dr. Hwu it was a very straightforward case. Without 1HP, I would probably still be dealing with tendonitis issues. Dr. Hwu is very passionate about his work, genuinely cares about his patients, and keeps up on RSI research. I talked a lot with him about tendonitis/tendinopathy research as well as pain science and he was able to explain a lot to me that was really important to my recovery. Because of what I’ve learned, I’m going to continue doing my exercises at least 3x a week to maintain good wrist health and start doing more exercise in general. If you’ve been having similar issues, seriously reach out to 1HP.

Consistency and believing in the process. Healing takes a long time but with consistency and a good mindset it will help so much, it is okay to have a flare up here and there, healing isn't a straight line up, it goes up and down at times but in the end it is always going up, even if it slow sometimes. Sticking to it.

I'm badeu, a top osu! player who began experiencing RSI in my right hand inside of my thumb due to extensive gaming sessions without any breaks or stretching my hands. The reason I want to give my reference to Dr. Matthew Hwu and 1HP, is that it's very hard to believe that this service is so scarcely found. Especially when RSI is becoming more and more commonplace among gamers.
My RSI evolved from just being a problem with playing osu!, to other aspects of my life, and even to the point where in some cases I basically functioned with 1 hand for anything other than really simple tasks.
At this point I finally got in touch with Dr. Hwu after seeing another top osu! player (Sytho) who also had RSI and worked with him to have great results. I was losing hope around this time after trying numerous things, including having cortisone shots, but I am really glad I took this chance because now I have the ability to continue doing what I enjoy without the fear of setbacks or pain.
I'm now back to playing up to 6 hours a day after a month of working with Dr. Hwu and I couldn't recommend this service enough. Seriously, I couldn't believe how simple recovery was all along.

- He explained everything clearly and why its happening, accurately prescribed the correct rehab exercises with weight/reps and asked me to report back. We worked together and he was highly responsive to tailor the program more carefully to my recovery needs.

I have had countless successful physical therapy sessions with Elliot to relieve neck/back tension and improve mobility, worked closely with Daniel to improve my sleep habits and received a ton of game-changing advice regarding nutrition and supplements from Casey. It also needs to be stated that Carl is an amazing mental coach, and the breathing techniques he taught me I have now used for years.
I can confidently say that they have all made a huge difference for me. I can't recommend them enough.

Just had a session done going over my posture and identifying potential causes of why my shoulder blade sometimes hurts with @HPforGamers and I learned a TON.
Definitely recommend checking out his content for anyone looking to improve your posture or fix any RSI related stuff!!

I'm Swerl, Professional Valorant player for VCT CN (NOVA ESPORTS)
I worked with Dr.Hwu, to treat pain in wrist, elbow and thumb.
I started working with 1HP April 2nd 2024, my injuries had progressed pretty badly therefore the healing journey was longer, but within a month or two id have days without any pain. I followed a strict healing plan even after i had stopped seeing Dr. Hwu and the pain lingered or changed over time, however Dr. Hwu was readily available and always keen to help me out whenever he could. Now exactly 4 months since I started seeing Dr. Hwu, adapting my healing routine and following his guidance im completely pain free.
Ive been able to reach my goals of participating in team practice for the whole day and being able to put in extra work after hand.
The best thing about 1HP is the fact that they are there for you, any questions any random issues, DR. Hwu would always respond within a day or two.

After months of doctors that didn't know what to do with me, finally making some real progress working with Matthew Hwu and I've not only made progress in pain reduction but also learnt so much about posture and exercise in general! I might still have a bit to go until I'm 100% pain free but thanks to 1HP, I KNOW that I'll reach there. For the first time since I got my RSI, I have hope again. Can't recommend them enough!

I'm johnqt I play for sentinels, I worked with Dr.Hwu about my wrist and knee discomfort and he's been very helpful about it with solutions and various checkups.
He also helped me with gym programs and in-person help since I was a beginner in that area.

I started experiencing major wrist and forearm pain whilst gaming, which is the one of the scariest most alarming thing to experience as someone who plays video games for a living full time.
Several of my peers immediately took this as an opportunity to recommend 1HP,
Dr. Matthew Hwu helped assess my pain, and provided a treatment plan that resolved all of my issues within 6 weeks.
During our consultations, he helped me truly understand the importance of physical heath, especially as a gamer, providing proper context as to why I was experiencing my issues in the first place, and what I could do to prevent them from reoccurring in the future. Since then, I've integrated healthier habits into my lifestyle and have benefitted immensely from them.
