There is a lot of great information. I have changed my workflow to use HS - Selective Color - Color Balance in every photo along with other things in the course. I love the results, and you have made me enjoy post-processing even more. You have so many good techniques in the course. Only some people can teach and explain very well what they are trying to teach. You are excellent at doing that. I can only imagine the work it took to put the course together. Your hard work paid off.

I have used Photoshop for quite a while, but was missing many of the basics. I have found things in every lesson. I have 2 things that have been most helpful. Firstly, a better understanding of Smart objects. and secondly a better understanding of select and masking workspace.

I'm really enjoying the 21 Day Photoshop Expert Course that I bought off you a couple of weeks ago. I've always found Photoshop intimidating and scary and do most of my adjustments in Lightroom because of this, but now with your course I'm going to have more confidence in sending photos over to Photoshop and doing some work in there. Cheers Brendan.

21 day photoshop expert is a very good online course, worth every single penny. I started from very little knowledge about PS. Now I feel I am much more knowledgeable.

The thing that most sets this course apart from other Photoshop courses I've taken is the way that you constantly mention little things that will be noticeable as a result of each action taken, even the small actions. It's kind of like giving a list of landmarks to look for, not just a map and directions, to someone who is going on a trip, so that the person can make sure that s/he hasn't taken a wrong turn along the way. Many of the things you mention are not things I would have necessarily have noticed until much farther into the future, if you hadn't pointed them out. If things went awry in working through steps in other PS classes I've taken, I was often way down that wrong road before I realized it, and it often took forever to retrace steps and figure out where things got off course -- which wasted precious time and held me back from moving forward. The way that YOU explain things, if I've missed a step, I know instantly and can correct it. Also, the explanation of each tiny thing that happens as a result of my actions helps me understand WHY and HOW Photoshop is working instead of just memorizing that Action A should yield Result B...which teaches me how to troubleshoot myself. My first career was as a software tester and technical writer of troubleshooting guides, functionality specs, and online Help, and so when people teach without explaining the WHY of things, I find it really bothersome. I really appreciate your taking the extra effort to explain WHY and HOW. This teaching method makes a world of difference in what is possible for me to accomplish and learn in a short period of time.

I've been working primarily in Lightroom Classic and feel very comfortable in that environment. But there are certain things that need Photoshop to accomplish, e.g. several years ago, my niece wanted to remove an ex-boyfriend from a family photo. It took me a longtime to accomplish that task and the end result was less than optimal. I could probably do it fairly quickly now. I've learned a lot, but will need a ton of practice on my own images to lock in the steps.

I have tinkered with various online Photoshop learning courses and Brendan's, by far, is the most helpful and thorough. A problem with most Photoshop tutorials is that the presenter is often too knowledgeable. Frequently, a presenter will mention--often in passing but critical to the task at hand--"do this or that" without explaining how or where to click. At that point, as a learner, I am lost. (For example, if a presenter mentions "add a mask and fill it with black" and then continues with some other explanation, I am stuck if I do not know how to add a mask and fill it with black.) Brendan, however, explains things as he goes along, showing what you need to do and why. This attention to detail so that the learner can follow is extremely valuable. Brendan's teaching style is superb and the way that he layers what you are learning is most helpful. He "builds" your understanding in digestible chunks without overwhelming you.

I found the section on selection tool foundation and go-to selection tools very helpful. I didn’t know how to “properly” use several of the tools. I like that you mentioned times when a particular method/tool would not work (e.g. channels with the low contrast hair/background). So far, I’m enjoying the course and even used what you taught me to assist my sister and niece in selecting them out of photos to use for a graduation invitation and awards booklet.

Really enjoy going through each of the lessons. Other photography lessons I've been through only instruct where to point and click with little to no explanation of the tool and/or option being used. The modules in this 21 Day training are different in that they provide ample explanation and examples on the tools and how to use them.

This has been the best experience: detailed, special tips - but most importantly, gaining confidence in how to effectively and creatively deal with the mysteries of Photoshop - and its relations with Lightroom Classic/ACR. Better yet, it teaches detailed use of techniques in combination that gives you at the conclusion a solid workflow -- and means to imagine approaches before you start with artistry/effect in mind. For those liking the detailed approach (or just want to make a pretty picture if that's your intent) this is the teaching course for you. Especially valuable is the community. I have gained a lot of confidence. A better eye at establishing goals and workflow before beginning. The lessons were not as much about techniques but possibilities.

You have really done a great job covering all the details of these tools and how to use them. I like the pace of the presentation too. It is very complete and systematic. For me, I like to learn in layers and what you have created here really works. If I have to pick a favorite lesson, the lessons on masking are well explained. Honestly, all the content is great so hard to choose one.

Brendan is the best teacher I have found after wasting countless hours searching the web. He explains the material clearly in an easy to follow method. The course is very complete with each video building upon the last. He speaks clearly (in English), and to the point, w/o a lot of wasted talk, with the video and sound quality being excellent. You will learn all the tools in PS to make you feel comfortable venturing down the PS road, whether it be for photography or making adverts. One of the best things was that I could contact Brandon directly with questions via his community. I would highly recommend that if you want to learn PS this is the right place to start. Then you can take it from here as far as you wish. Getting a handle on the whole layout and what the various tools do. It gave me the confidence to use Photoshop. Now, when I think of a specific PS idea that I want to execute, I can find a tutorial on youtube and actually follow along because I now understand how to navigate photoshop.

I know the basics of Photoshop (followed your 7 day free course, and have used Youtube a lot). But there are so many refinements all the time, that I was not aware of. Your course is so pedagogical. I appreciate the build-up of each module, from start to the final summing up of what we have learned. I can follow your every step. Having been helped by many Youtube videos, I can say that that is a first! I appreciate the written content break-down of each module so that is is easy to go back and check when trying things out. I also find the written text under the video most useful.

5 Star. Course clearly set out with the addition of images used included so you could create what was being taught. Although I made notes I also found the included text useful. There were so many areas where I had some knowledge but did not realize that there was so much more to learn. I had been worried that the course would be predominately on how to take photographs, an area that I am not involved with - more 'snaps' on an iphone but now appreciate how any image can be improved. I am primarily involved with using friends' images and trying to improve them. This usually means deleting odd legs and hands or caravans! from dog agility events (a topic you used in your youtube banner video) and trying to merge in backgrounds. I really liked the idea of using shapes to create an area to merge images into as in the instagram video.

Your course is thorough, yet streamlined, and your teaching style is clear, concise, and extremely helpful. You are an outstanding teacher, teaching a subject that is often not taught well. The way you introduce topics and let us know we will be delving into them later in more depth, is a beautiful way of layering information and building on concepts from conceptualization through effective utilization. And the way you organize the presentation of topics is so effective and something I don't encounter often. The most valuable thing I've learned is that I can trust you to guide me to enhance and deepen my skills and that there is a lot of wisdom that I will gain as I progress through your course. Thank you!
