As a new coach, I am focused on developing my new skills to be a great coach but what it is missing and is not easy to teach are the skills to build a coaching business. It is essentially a double transformation in parallel happening and this what Josianne’s program tackles – the business of coaching. As a sales leader, I am very familiar with what it takes to be successful in sales – having the right mindset and belief; overcoming imposter syndrome; the consistent high levels of activity required daily; utilizing all the channels at your disposal to brand and market yourself; the many rejections before a “yes’ and so on. Josianne created a wonderful programme to share her experiences with reaching 500 coaching hours. During this programme, she brought together a group of coaches with different experiences and shared her learnings, experiments and tools that have helped her with her coaching goals. This was an incredibly valuable experience. For starters, Josianne was very open about what went well and what didn’t work out. This was useful as it turns out many people have had similar experiences and for me it was helpful to identify what steps I need to prioritise. Additionally, she was happy to discuss topics that usually get avoided, like figuring out a pricing structure. This is very rare and difficult to learn about, leaving most new coaches in the dark and is often a barrier to getting paid clients. With the insights and guidance, we’re able to build up a foundation for our own business. Overall, the course was well structured, and it was great joining her community of coaches – I spent the five sessions being inspired and feeling motivated to clarify and reach my own coaching goals.
