Defining the 'how' and getting others on board with you seemed to be a real highlight, although I picked up lots of awesome tidbits I'll keep with me on my leadership journey. Of course, the course is also for those people above them to get them into the strategic mindset! I wouldn't change anything. The Zoom chat was a valuable side channel for participants to share their perspectives and exchange ideas. The breakout rooms were a good way to stress-test what had been discussed. I'm going the use the toolkit to reflect on my opinions and evaluate if I'm focussing my efforts on the right things. The 'Opinion Evaluation' was enlightening because it helped to identify my 'Convictions'.

It seemed very casual and fluid, but she kept to time and covered all the material! It seemed effortless, but I'm sure it wasn't. The most valuable thing I learned was that there is a very critical step in between the 'why' (the strategy) and the 'what' (the operations) and that is the 'how'. Defining the 'how' and getting others on board with you seemed to be a real highlight, although I picked up lots of awesome tidbits I'll keep with me on my leadership journey. I would recommend this training for those who are responsible for people and things but also answerable to those above them who might not operate in a strategic space. Of course, the course is also for those people above them to get them into the strategic mindset! I wouldn't change anything. There was a great mix of interaction, talking, drawing, watching and written material.

It seemed very casual and fluid, but she kept to time and covered all the material! It seemed effortless, but I'm sure it wasn't. The most valuable thing I learned was that there is a very critical step in between the 'why' (the strategy) and the 'what' (the operations) and that is the 'how'. Defining the 'how' and getting others on board with you seemed to be a real highlight, although I picked up lots of awesome tidbits I'll keep with me on my leadership journey. I would recommend this training for those who are responsible for people and things but also answerable to those above them who might not operate in a strategic space. Of course, the course is also for those people above them to get them into the strategic mindset! I wouldn't change anything. There was a great mix of interaction, talking, drawing, watching and written material.

The most valuable things I learned were around the decision making process, public vs private, decision making. I found Alicia's teaching style to be excellent, engaging and uplifting. I loved the role playing and getting to know new Councillors and reinforcing concepts.
