Coach Uwem is such a patient, free-spirited, genuine, disciplined, and unconventional coach. Her sessions are often non-hierarchal. Instead of the usual coach-client style of coaching, her style of coaching is unique because she acts as both a facilitator and a participant. What I loved the most about her coaching sessions is that she empathetically listens as you speak, and she follows you up (in the following sessions) to ensure that you are improving. Although she has some structure for her sessions, she does not let the structure get in the way of the client's need and she tries to ensure that civility and decorum are maintained at all times during her sessions. I always felt peaceful, happier, and validated after each session with her. Her prayers (that's if you consent to being prayed for) quicken my spirit and give me some form of spiritual security. Overall, I will say that she is relatable and from my experience in other therapy/coaching sessions, relatability or resonance with the coach is paramount for the sessions to be impactful. After graduating from the program, I realized recovery was about unpacking and learning how to tell MY story from a place of healing and growth. Recovery is for everyone!
