Refines the bare essentials for outlining and planning your steps...
What motivated me to buy the book was that I was confused/lost about the path into an information security career. There is so much fluff around pen testing, cyber security, kali, networks etc that you don't know where to start --- especially because everybody will have an opinion about it. "Get this cert, go on this site, try hacking this, here's what I did after my degree...".
So I entrusted the author and gained some much needed clarity from a professional.
To add to that, I contacted the author about my specific situation, and Ayman was more than helpful with his response and guidance, so much so that I feel more confident in what I am doing now as I feel I am moving in the right direction.
I recommend it if the career path intrigues you and you would like some inside information about the industry.
You may also want it to perhaps burn some bridges because you can certainly get overwhelmed with the tech industry! People list certifications like a shopping list, but they can take a lot of work when you have other commitments - so it is best to know what you are aiming for and what you need.
From there, you can go onto the podcast, which I am just about to get involved with now.

A solid guide to get into info sec
This book is a solid guide to understanding what it takes to get a job in information security. If you’re a recent grad looking to get into the field, or a veteran of another industry, you’ll learn the history, the lingo, and the mindset you need to break into information security. The author breaks down that you don’t even have to be technical to get a job in information security - strong analytical skills and an appreciation of process are more valuable than being a programmer or having a network engineering background. It was an enjoyable and informative read.

Amazing Read!!!
This book addresses many of the fears that individuals, such as myself, face when trying to “break into” infosec. I found this book especially interesting because I am transitioning into infosec after 20 years in law enforcement. Ayman gives practical advice and provides readers with a plethora of valuable resources. Moreover, he creates a roadmap of exercises that readers can conduct on their home network, teaching readers how to secure themselves first. I found this book to be an enjoyable read and once I started, I could not put it down. Ayman gives readers the option to tune into his podcast, a resource which has been invaluable in my quest to learn about infosec. Ayman is serious when he provides his contact information and has been generous enough to correspond with me on several occasions, offering career advice and helping me on my quest. Through this book, Ayman can be a mentor to all of us. Great work Ayman!
