Before I met Eli, job hunting was a confusing and fruitless endeavour. I knew I had potential, but struggled to get my foot in the door. I felt like I tried everything, but nothing was sticking. I had applied to 30 roles, which took 10 hours. I had received a single reply - and nothing past that. I figured I needed real, professional guidance. So, I took a chance on Eli. His portfolio was impressive - he was good at selling himself. I figured that’s exactly what I needed.
And I was right. Eli has his finger on the pulse of the recruiter’s mindset. His approach is structured, clear and effective. We overhauled my portfolio: resume and LinkedIn. The difference was quite shocking, truthfully. It exceeded my expectations. People were interested. They started to reach out to me. My applications were getting responses, one after the other. Soon, I had a problem with too many interviews and schedule conflicts.
It took about a week to overhaul my portfolio. Afterwards, I started applying. Within 5 weeks, these were my results:

I was seeking for an IT recruiter and I finally found one, that is Eli. He gave me valuable insights into the recruitment processes. I heard of Eli through a friend while searching for a job in tech in Melbourne and ended up buying his Resume Writing Handbook while preparing my CV.
Coming from academia, I had no idea what tech recruiters in industry were looking for in a resumé. Eli's handbook laid everything really clearly, explaining in detail what tech recruiters look for and what common mistakes to avoid (most of which I was making).
The handbook also provides two great templates that I was able to fill in with ease , and Eli was extremely helpful along the way, providing tips on how to personalise them show off my own particular strengths given my academic background.
Overall the handbook is a great investment, and easily worth more than the cost of purchase in terms of the doors it opens to getting job interviews :)

I was drawn to Careersy after seeing clear, actionable advice by Eli Gunduz on linkedin. There are so many options out there, but I found the advice was clear and easy to put into action.
As someone who spent over a decade in academia, it was vital for me to learn how to translate my experiences and skills to industry. After a couple of months of trying on my own accord, it was clearly I was not using the same language (despite using the same keywords) - the focus and highlights were all wrong for the positions I was applying for.
I enlisted help by Careersy for my CV. It was an iterative process, through which Eli was incredibly patient (it’s such an reality check when you remove all your academic/publication accolades). I really appreciate that the process wasn’t about reinventing yourself from scratch but communicating your achievements to a different audience.

Before I met Eli, job hunting was a confusing and fruitless endeavour. I knew I had potential, but struggled to get my foot in the door. I felt like I tried everything, but nothing was sticking. I had applied to 30 roles, which took 10 hours. I had received a single reply - and nothing past that. I figured I needed real, professional guidance. So, I took a chance on Eli. His portfolio was impressive - he was good at selling himself. I figured that’s exactly what I needed.
And I was right. Eli has his finger on the pulse of the recruiter’s mindset. His approach is structured, clear and effective. We overhauled my portfolio: resume and LinkedIn. The difference was quite shocking, truthfully. It exceeded my expectations. People were interested. They started to reach out to me. My applications were getting responses, one after the other. Soon, I had a problem with too many interviews and schedule conflicts.
It took about a week to overhaul my portfolio. Afterwards, I started applying. Within 5 weeks, these were my results:

I was seeking for an IT recruiter and I finally found one, that is Eli. He gave me valuable insights into the recruitment processes. This gave me confidence that you would be able to give the very specific insights I require. I heard of Eli through a friend while searching for a job in tech in Melbourne and ended up buying his Resume Writing Handbook while preparing my CV.
Coming from academia, I had no idea what tech recruiters in industry were looking for in a resumé. Eli's handbook laid everything really clearly, explaining in detail what tech recruiters look for and what common mistakes to avoid (most of which I was making).
The handbook also provides two great templates that I was able to fill in with ease , and Eli was extremely helpful along the way, providing tips on how to personalise them show off my own particular strengths given my academic background.
Overall the handbook is a great investment, and easily worth more than the cost of purchase in terms of the doors it opens to getting job interviews :)

I was drawn to Careersy after seeing clear, actionable advice by Eli Gunduz on linkedin. There are so many options out there, but I found the advice was clear and easy to put into action.
As someone who spent over a decade in academia, it was vital for me to learn how to translate my experiences and skills to industry. After a couple of months of trying on my own accord, it was clearly I was not using the same language (despite using the same keywords) - the focus and highlights were all wrong for the positions I was applying for.
I enlisted help by Careersy for my CV. It was an iterative process, through which Eli was incredibly patient (it’s such an reality check when you remove all your academic/publication accolades). I really appreciate that the process wasn’t about reinventing yourself from scratch but communicating your achievements to a different audience.
I would definitely recommend trying Careersy coaching – particularly for others who are looking to transition to industry from academia or a PhD. It’s a daunting process and a little help by someone with a finger of the pulse goes a long way!
