I have been in the police tactical training industry for over 30 years. I can attest to your products. I have three, a tree (for 22 rimfire), knockdown plates, and, of course, the Texas Star. The last two are AR500 units. I use mine to teach my students, yes, but also my kids and grandkids love shooting these too. Especially popular with my grandkids is the shooting tree... they love to compete with each other with Ruger 10-22 rifles. Good products, great customer service.

Note attached pictures. We wrapped up a 1,300 round test through 10 guns with a variety of buckshot and slug loads at a distance of 50'. The targets and target stands held up very well to lots of abuse. Everyone here is very impressed with the design and construction of the product.

Just wanted to thank you for your help in deciding what to order and facilitating such a quick turnaround. Our targets arrived last week, much quicker than expected, and we were able to assemble the plate rack and steel challenge practice set this morning and give them a go. Quality and design is incredibly impressive, very comprehensive directions, simple assembly. The adjustments on the plate rack are simple and enabled us to use everything from a .45 to .22 and knock the plates over. Resetting is simple and easy with great leverage, anyone can use it. The angle and design kept the splatter area very close, and the simple and quick plate removal allows us to secure it when not under supervised use.

I've been a LE firearms instructor for over 47 years. A principal firearms instructor for municipal and state agencies, former NJ State Rangemaster and an instructor with Heckler and Kock's International Training Division in the 1990s. I cannot speak highly enough about Challenge Target's steel! The portable Texas Star is perfect for use at multiple facilities or various locations throughout the same facility. It easily withstands all the common, and various magnum, handgun rounds, and shrugged off Federal Flight Control 00 Buck with ease. It has been used in competitions every week for the last 4 months and shows virtually no signs of wear. The .22 dueling tree is much better construction and design than several other major steel target manufacturers and has been in regular use at our facility since 2014 with no need for replacement parts. Several years ago, shooting at one of Challenge Targets IPSC shaped steel plates, one member our group accidentally shot the rifle rated plate with .50BMG from 100 yards. While it did knock the plate off the stand, it didn't damage the plate and we've continued to use it for almost 10 years now, with a steady diet of steel core mil-surp ammo. I cannot recommend Challenge Targets highly enough.

Hello, my name is Mark and I have a small pistol range out in my pasture. Up until I purchased a SuperNova and a Dueling tree, me and my wife (and friends) were relegated to paper targets. Not much fun in that! Once we got our Challenge Targets we spend much more time at the range and is a hit with our shooting friends. We have done some night shooting with targets lit up by halogen lighting and then relaxing by a near-by fire pit with camp fire. Everyone is impressed with the quality of these two products and the ease of maintaining (simply spray paint and away we go!!).

I recently started attending rifle and pistol matches. My local club had a challenge targets shoot to reset plate rack. After two matches of getting to shoot at this challenge target I decided it was worth buying one. Reactive targets are great for range time but they require resetting after each shot. This target allows the shooter to reset the target by shooting the final paddle. So far the only damage to the target has been a handgun round to one of the metal conduit legs but the target itself has held up fantastic and works great! I will definitely purchase more challenge targets in the future.

I love shooting Texas Star targets with or with out my wife. So when I seen this double Texas star I knew I had to have it. It was totally worth the money, and it was fun to paint all the parts the way we wanted. Additionally, I like how modular and compact this setup is. I do transport this to the range and store it at our house in the garage. It breaks down into 4 major componets for transportation and storage (wheels, stand, paddles). I like the wheel locking feature, quality level of the parts and componets. Lastly, the instruction manual is ID 10 T proof, incredibly detailed. Respect the steel

I have a couple TDI torso/head targets and a couple dueling trees for my home range. These are quality targets built to last. Having steel always out on the range makes practice easier and more frequent. No targets to haul out or paper to replace. Just a fresh coat of paint at the end of session. I shoot recreationally and used to just shoot single gong style targets, old jugs, scrap metal etc. I finally decided to step it up and got the Propeller Texas Star. It's been a ton of fun to shoot and I think it has genuinely made me a better shooter. I probably spend twice as much time shooting during a range session now than I did with just static targets. The spinning targets are way more challenging and way more fun. I was also impressed by the target's build quality. Everything fits together seamlessly, and after more than a year of use, it has held up remarkably well. The plates are durable, and despite not repainting them after every session, there is still no rust or pitting to be found. Additionally, it’s easy to transport; it only takes three screws to set up and take down, and it fits perfectly in the back of my SUV. I would definitely recommend this target and Challenge Targets overall.

I would like to take this opportunity to recognize the incredible customer service I received. I began integrating steel targets into my training programs at my range. As part of additions and improvements, I was converting a narrow range bay to dedicate it for a plate rack. I ordered the plate rack in April (2025) and because the surface improvements to the narrow bay were tied to completion of a shoot house, I did not open the pallet containing the plate rack until August. To my dismay, I was missing components and hardware. Because of the 4 month span from receipt, I wasn't sure how addressing the issue would go. I was expecting to be questioned as to why I didn't inspect the pallet upon receipt. My reasoning was that it was better to keep the shipment intact until I was ready to assemble the plate rack. Frankly, I believed it would have been appropriate for Challenge to question this. Any concerns were wasted time. I reasonably expected the email I sent late Friday afternoon would be answered on Monday. However, I received a response late Friday night with assurances my components would be shipped Monday (and they were). I want to take this opportunity to thank Challenge for their immediate response and for rectifying the issue of missing parts immediately. This speaks highly of the company and its customer service.
