My name is Patterson and I am from the Atlanta, GA area! I have one child who will soon be 2 years old. This course was an invaluable resource for limiting medical trauma in my young child. It is something that can be used and adapted all the way into her teenage years. Great course for anyone know is looking to help out their children in a medical setting.

Katie is one of the most thoughtful, innovative, creative, and intelligent leaders out there. She has figured out how to create a platform that serves all my needs as a child life specialist. I’ve let all my other child life memberships lapse since the circle really does it all.

I appreciate the abundance of FREE PDU opportunities! Clinical supervision, in particular, has made a significant impact on my work in both private practice and community settings. It provides a valuable space to connect with other CCLS, fostering reflection and personal and professional growth. The supportive nature of the circle is remarkable, spanning various settings such as hospitals, communities, private practices, and schools. The community's size strikes a perfect balance, allowing me to access a wealth of resources effortlessly without feeling intimidated when posting questions or comments.

I joined the circle to learn from and connect with fellow Child Life Specialists. My favorite part of the circle has been the group supervision. Getting to learn from and spend time with Deb Vilas was such a gift and the friendships I have maintained from the group has been a blessing. In our ever changing field, it's important to build connection and community. It's also comforting to have others you can talk to who are not on your work team or same hospital. CCLS' should join for the friendships and the easy PDU's!

I was messaging to let you know how much I have loved this platform since joining. I personally joined for the PDU opportunities as I am up for recertification this October, but have been pleasantly surprised with how much I have utilized this platform. I recently went down to part-time at my role in the hospital after becoming a new mom and have been struggling with that professional transition, along with burnout from the field. This forum has provided me with new resources, the ability to connect with CCLS across different hospitals in a positive way, along with the PDU opportunities which have really helped me find my child life passion again.

These webinars are totally amazing and so enlightening. It’s such a stark contrast to the ACLP webinars which often feel like an echo chamber where we’re all teaching other child life specialists how to do the job they already do. They are so great and I love that you guys ask for suggestions for topics and go find speakers that align. I’ll one million percent be back. I also like that the webinars are available to watch whenever bc I’m not at a stage in life where I can always log in real time

I have found so much value in Child Life On Call and the resources it has enabled me to use as well as the access to PDU’s. Child Life On Call is doing great work for the profession and for advocating for the needs/rights of patients and their families, so want to express my gratitude and appreciation for all you do.

love the child life circle so much. The PDU opportunities have been so beneficial and it's great that it's so convenient. I also really just love the community aspect. I work in a hospital with a very small "team" (there's only two of us and we have no child life department or supervisor, so we pretty much do everything on top of our patient care) and it's really great to have an opportunity to connect with other professionals when I need ideas, advice, etc. It's been a breath of fresh air to have a safe space with a bunch of other specialists that "get it". The supervision program was also SO valuable especially since I don't have a supervisor at my hospital. It connected me with a group of professionals throughout the country that I feel have become a lifetime connection/friends. I honestly cannot say enough good things about the child life circle community and it's value to me as a child life professional!

It has been wonderful to be able to have access to free clinical supervision. I am part of a 2-person child life program that is under nursing leadership. Access to clinical supervision has not only been helpful professionally to help with advice with clinical cases, but it is very validating to create a new network of professional peers through this process. This has helped me to feel more confident in my abilities as a CCLS as well as help prevent burn out. I am grateful for this opportunity.

I am so very thankful for the opportunity to participate in clinical supervision with the child life circle. It has given me access to a group of child life specialists who are outside of my day-to-day environment who I can share with and feel supported by. I have grown and felt seen by my group. Additionally, I have appreciated having someone lead our group (Shani) who has experience and training as a facilitator encouraging each of us to participate each week.

Clinical supervision has been incredibly valuable for me. This is my first experience with supervision and it has greatly impacted my practice. Clinical supervision allows me to improve my skills, deepen my self-awareness, consider different perspectives, and uphold ethical and professional standards of practise. It offers a safe environment to explore difficult cases, receive guidance from colleagues, and gain insight into my own emotions, and responses in the hospital setting in which I work.
