GeoHECRAS has been helpful in modeling flood elevations and demonstrating FEMA floodplain no-rise conditions. I also utilize the velocity and shear stress mapping with velocity vectors to demonstrate to project stakeholders where restoration treatments would be most needed and effective to protect against the erosional forces of rivers.

GeoHECRAS is an interface that allows you to combine GIS, CAD, and HEC-RAS into one product. I like that I am able to use one program as opposed to three to do my job. I like how efficient it is and how that does not mean that it is less accurate. GeoHECRAS is a visual aid to all modeling.

GeoHECRAS allows one to use HEC-RAS in an interface that functions much more intuitively than the standard HEC-RAS. In performing project reviews, it presents me with a much clearer picture for looking at the bones of the model and rapidly checking different components for potential errors. As a designer it is much easier to overlay my entire project and manipulate variables as needed.

We've been using GeoHECRAS for a recent hydraulic modeling efforts involving bridge replacement projects. The user interface is intuitive and visually driven, making it easy to build and edit the model. The ability to automatically generate cross sections and quickly adjust geometry in a CAD-like environment saved a lot of time. The wide variety of outputs, such as animations, profile plots, and map views, were especially helpful for visualizing flow patterns. Overall, GeoHECRAS provided a smoother and more efficient modeling experience!

I enjoy GeoHECRAS features over RASMapper because it is more intuitive and has more capabilities. It is easier and faster to build 1D and 2D models in Geo. The interface is also more user-friendly.

The program is user friendly and can be easily learned using the helpful videos they have on their website. Their customer service team is also great whether its about purchasing the software or when handling specific engineering questions. They're always eager to help.

GeoHEC-RAS is user-friendly and it's easy to bring in terrain data work with it. The visualization tools and interaction with it make it nice and also helpful to new users of HEC-RAS. It's faster to create ineffective flow areas and bringing in new cross sections.

GeoHECRAS has been a great tool for hydraulic modeling. The interface is intuitive and easy to use, making it simple to set up models, edit geometry, and review results. Tech support team is responsive, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful when troubleshooting or answering questions.

For me, GeoHECRAS mainly makes HEC-RAS more user-friendly. This is chiefly done by making data entry more intuitive with the "Assign Entities" tool series. Basically, the workflow is you build a georeferenced model (DEM, cross-sections, structures, etc.), take a picture of it (distances, slopes, etc. are calculated automatically), and feed that into HEC-RAS.

Additionally, the conveyance capacity of hydraulic structures (such as culverts and bridges) and channel geometry are efficiently managed using Geo HEC-RAS software.

Setting up and editing models is straightforward, with the added benefit of visual representation. Additionally, the customer service is excellent—whenever I had questions, getting assistance was quick and easy. Their team is always supportive, regularly checking in, and actively seeking user feedback to enhance the software.

GeoHECRAS is great for modeling drainage areas and complex floodplains, and the integration of GIS and mapping features make it far more user friendly than HEC-RAS on its own. Being able to import files from Google Earth and CAD also make it super simple to take areas and survey data you already have available and keep them in one place. The program is also super intuitive, with features being located exactly where you'd expect. Our team uses it nearly everyday. When there are crashes or bugs, it is really easy to get help from CivilGeo.

It's easy to set up and import a model and it will update all your ras files. Also its compatibility with GIS and CAD files its really good.

I like how much time GeoHEC-RAS saves the user in river analysis. The user-friendly interface, powerful terrain tools, compatibility with GIS and CAD, integration with online services (USGS, FEMA, soils, land use, etc.), and ease of workflow save the user a significant amount of time on every project.
