I work in Product Operations for JustEat Takeaway.com. My Colab cohort supported me in growing as I've got to think where I am in my career and where I want to go, alongside frameworks and tools to get there. How the work is structured is great, as you get to interact with other colleagues across different industries and sizes of companies with different challenges.

John ran a great customer insights workshop. It was very engaging and it reminded me of some fundaments but also how to leverage my Product Owner skills, especially when it comes to understanding our customers and how utilise the data. Thank you John!

I loved Colab's Advanced Product Management course. The weekly in-person sessions were fantastic – meeting product managers from various backgrounds helped me put my startup experience into perspective and learn from others working in larger organisations. As often discussed, leadership skills are rarely taught, so it was with excitement and a bit of trepidation that I started the leadership course at Colab Cohorts. 

The 2 hour sessions flew by each week, with a great balance of information and practical exercises. We worked on these in breakout groups and then reconvened to discuss how each group approached different tasks and challenges. 

This approach to learning gave us the opportunity to apply the learnings and consider how we’d approach challenges in different ways, also uncovering any questions or challenges in applying the theory immediately. 

 It also gave us the chance to meet and work with other product people, expanding both our knowledge and support network. 

 I would recommend any of the Colabs’ courses; having seen first hand the quality of the instruction and product leaders, and the ongoing support, you get more than just the initial course information. The ongoing mentoring, community and support opportunities are invaluable.

Honestly is a great course to get you going for a Product Management role, or even to understand the role of a PM. You're provided with the theory behind each aspect of the role, given a chance to practice it right there and then, and then you apply the learning to your product concept. The hardest part was deciding on a concept! Really enjoyed my cohort, and John was great at explaining everything, patiently asking all the questions, and tried to make us laugh ;P

AI for Product Manager course helped me think of how to embed AI into my work. On top of this, the course also talked about how to gain end users trust when adopting AI, which is something that a Product Manager should consider. I recommend for the people who wants to get better understanding of AI, this is the course.

I recently completed the Advanced Product Management Program led by Anesh from Colab Cohort, and it has been a truly valuable experience. The Product Management Foundations course is an excellent course for aspiring and even current Product professionals. The content is relevant and immediately useful, and opens the door enough to send you down the world of product management. I have found it both engaging and useful in both reinforcing what I know about product management but also challenging long held (potentially incorrect) beliefs.

The mastering product strategy cohort was a great combination of reinforcing (and putting some structure) around things I already knew and introducing some new concepts, nuance, and frameworks that I can apply to my everyday work. And it's far more than just the well-run live sessions. There's a very comprehensive online course and workbook that I can refer back to whenever I want to refresh my memory and reinforce what I learnt.

I'm a principal consultant at a strategic design agency - Not strictly working is a PM, but lots of tangental scenarios in the work we do across service design, CX and supporting teams refine, design and develop propositions to take to market. Cohort's APM course has given me a bunch of learnings, insights and frameworks that were immediately applicable to my day-to-day work. It's a great balance between theory and practical activities. I got a lot of the value from hearing stories and experiences and questions from the participants and our instructor. I'm most excited to have ongoing access to the growing community of incredible product people and resources to continue learning from. Would definitely recommend this course not only for it's great content but for the community you get access to too.

As a new product manager learning on the job, the Product Management Fundamentals course is a great course. I have learnt so much, and it has helped to fill in some of the gaps I had, as work priorities and other constraints mean sometimes you jump or miss processes out in order to move fast and deliver to customers.

What I really enjoyed about the training that Adam gave us was that he really took time up front to learn about how our organization works and some of the challenges we have and tailored his training to make it meaningful for me in my current role. Too often I've been through training sessions where you get taught a bunch of theory and given tips from how other tech companies work (or from industry experts) which wont work for us in our organization for "reasons". Id rather take one very useful thing that I can use in my role the very next day, rather than 10 pieces of useful knowledge which I may or may not remember in the future because Im not using them in a practical sense. Adam taught me something which Im now literally using the week after the training session.

Alastair - Sales and Product Lead for a design led payment tech SaaS start up. My cohort sessions with John and the other members were responsible for growing my product frameworks and in depth knowledge around product and how best to execute from concept through to launch. The best thing about part of the Colab sessions, had to be the practical break out rooms, ensuring we had hands on experience with our cohort to build on, debate and pivot on ideas and apply taught frameworks. Hi! My name is Belinda Ancell, Product Owner at Marigold. In 2022, I was fortunate enough to join a Product Management Fundamentals cohort with Colab. I was interested in pursuing a product career after several years working as a Business Analyst, and I was conscious that Product is notoriously difficult to break into. I researched several courses that could help me achieve my goal, and Colab was the standout for me. What was most appealing was being taught by existing product practitioners and leaders working for some of NZ's most successful tech companies. We were not being taught text book theory, but practical, tried and tested tools and frameworks, utilised by experienced product practitioners. Having the opportunity to create a product from scratch under their mentorship, also gave me a great understanding of the end-to-end product management process. Working alongside cohort peers as they also developed their products, ensured a collaborative and positive team dynamic throughout. The learning doesn't end at the completion of the cohort - I've used the Colab network to since ask product advice and I've also received advice and mentorship when applying for product roles. A year after completing the course, I landed a remote Product Owner role with marketing tech firm, Marigold. I believe Colab not only played a significant part in helping me achieve this, but it has also given me a solid foundation for my future product career.

My name is Dana, and I am currently a Business Analyst.  Learning from Colab helped me better understand about Product Management world, and how this role is important in a Software Development life-cyle. On top of this, I learn about so many frameworks that I can apply in my current role and progress to my career. The best thing about a cohort is I can learn from my Instructor, and my peers from different industries! For a person who would like to get into Product World and grow as a Product Person, this is a good course for an introduction and learning from different people from a different industry :)

I'm in my first role as a Product Owner so I found the Product Management Fundamentals course a great way to get across the foundations and key concepts of Product. We did lots of practical exercises to put the theory into practise and I would recommend this course to others starting out in their product career, or thinking about a career in product, and wanting to arm themselves with the key fundamentals.

This cohort was exactly what I was looking for. I specifically wanted to learn tools to help me with real life experiences. It’s great to know what good looks like but reality can often be vastly different. I struggled with strategy - Anesh made it really easy to understand and implement.

He was kind enough to spare some of his personal time to help me through some of the challenges I have had with Design review with senior leadership. - I think it's very important to set aside some time to review your own practices and approach - are they still relevant, are they still serving me and my business. When you don't have a strong product practice at the office or the time to implement, courses such as this is invaluable.

I am currently leading product for robotic automation at DroneDeploy. Despite the name we are largely automating ground robots like Boston Dynamics Spot. Colab has been the best product related course I have done. Very engaging in the cohort style and being able to break each of the sessions into smaller groups for discussion. Product strategy can be a daunting topic with no magic bullet framework to use. This course was great at giving real-world examples across different industries and companies. The best thing about the cohort was being able to work on your own product strategy throughout the course. You could apply what you learnt each week and build on this over the course. You then come away with something you can actually utilise in your work. I would highly recommend it to any other product leaders as strategy really amplifies your ability to make an impact!
