I work in Product Operations for JustEat Takeaway.com. My Colab cohort supported me in growing as I've got to think where I am in my career and where I want to go, alongside frameworks and tools to get there. How the work is structured is great, as you get to interact with other colleagues across different industries and sizes of companies with different challenges.

John ran a great customer insights workshop. It was very engaging and it reminded me of some fundaments but also how to leverage my Product Owner skills, especially when it comes to understanding our customers and how utilise the data. Thank you John!

I loved Colab's Advanced Product Management course. The weekly in-person sessions were fantastic – meeting product managers from various backgrounds helped me put my startup experience into perspective and learn from others working in larger organisations. The course structure was incredibly clear and practical, providing actionable tools and strategies for thinking through product strategy and effectively delivering business value. I'd highly recommend this course to anyone looking to level up their PM career.

As often discussed, leadership skills are rarely taught, so it was with excitement and a bit of trepidation that I started the leadership course at Colab Cohorts.

The 2 hour sessions flew by each week, with a great balance of information and practical exercises. We worked on these in breakout groups and then reconvened to discuss how each group approached different tasks and challenges.

This approach to learning gave us the opportunity to apply the learnings and consider how we’d approach challenges in different ways, also uncovering any questions or challenges in applying the theory immediately.

It also gave us the chance to meet and work with other product people, expanding both our knowledge and support network.

I would recommend any of the Colabs’ courses; having seen first hand the quality of the instruction and product leaders, and the ongoing support, you get more than just the initial course information. The ongoing mentoring, community and support opportunities are invaluable.

Honestly is a great course to get you going for a Product Management role, or even to understand the role of a PM. You're provided with the theory behind each aspect of the role, given a chance to practice it right there and then, and then you apply the learning to your product concept. The hardest part was deciding on a concept! Really enjoyed my cohort, and John was great at explaining everything, patiently asking all the questions, and tried to make us laugh ;P

🤯 Collaborative learning is underrated Back in March, the Advanced Product Management program with Colab Cohorts kicked off and WHAT A RIDE IT'S BEEN. Nothing could have properly prepared me for the deluge of learning, sharing and inspiring that has taken place with my cohort. Three key takeaways: ↳ Communicate, communicate – oh, and did I mention – communicate! Bring the team on your journey and align people on the product vision. ↳ Combine strategy and customer data to strengthen product prioritization and road mapping. ↳ True innovation comes from deeply understanding the customer's underserved needs – there's room for both User journey mapping and JTBD to provide insights to product teams. It's now time to apply them at my startup Jump!

AI for Product Manager course helped me think of how to embed AI into my work. On top of this, the course also talked about how to gain end users trust when adopting AI, which is something that a Product Manager should consider. I recommend for the people who wants to get better understanding of AI, this is the course.

Thank you very much to Stathis Eleftheriadis for sharing lots of insightful frameworks and considerations when identifying and building AI-driven opportunities. It was an awesome experience to connect with people from a wide range of industries (Agriculture, Media, Accounting, Conservation, Logistics) to ideate solutions that will drive internal efficiencies, reduce operational costs and create new revenue streams. As part of the course, I explored a GP Clinic patient pathways platform. Base functionalities included patient agenda capture and automating appointment triage and scheduling. A potential natural extension to HotDoc's core offering Emily Mason 💡

Just wrapped up the AI Product Management course by Colab Cohorts! Over the past few weeks, I’ve been diving deep into what it really takes to build AI-powered products—not just from a tech perspective, but from a product mindset that’s grounded in user value, experimentation, and quick building mindset. Here are a few things that really stuck with me: > AI ≠ Magic It’s easy to get caught up in the hype. But this course helped me focus on identifying real user problems where AI can create meaningful impact—not just cool demos. > Build → Test → Learn (Fast) We explored how to scope AI features, prototype quickly (even without code), and validate assumptions early. It’s all about reducing risk and learning fast. > Metrics Matter Success in AI isn’t just about accuracy—it’s about outcomes. I learned how to define the right metrics that align with user value and business goals. > Explainability AI isn’t neutral. We talked a lot about bias, transparency, and how to build responsibly—something I believe every PM needs to own. Big thanks to the Colab team and our instructor Stathis Eleftheriadis for creating such a practical, community-driven learning experience. 🙌 If you’re a PM curious about AI or looking to lead AI initiatives with confidence, I can’t recommend this course enough. Let’s connect if you’re exploring AI in your product work—I’d love to engage, learn your challenges and in general, swap notes!

I recently completed the Advanced Product Management Program led by Anesh from Colab Cohort, and it has been a truly valuable experience. This is the second Colab Cohort program I’ve completed, having also finished the Product Management Fundamentals in 2023. The program’s curriculum is well-structured, effectively bridging the gap between theory and real-world application. It provided practical tools and frameworks that I’ve been able to apply directly in my role as a Product Manager at Xplor Technologies. The program encouraged active participation and was highly collaborative, fostering interaction with product professionals from diverse backgrounds. This made the learning experience richer and more engaging. Overall, I highly recommend the Advanced Product Management Program by Colab Cohort to anyone looking to deepen their expertise and enhance their impact as a product leader. The insights, tools, and community I gained have already made a positive difference in my professional growth.

My goal is to specialize as an AI Product Manager, leveraging my deep technical background to drive innovation in AI-powered products. - How has the Colab cohort helped me grow as a product practitioner? The Colab cohort has provided me with a structured, hands-on approach to learning product management. Over the past few months, I’ve strengthened my understanding of the product management ecosystem, product discovery, and key PM metrics. The workbook exercises and live sessions with Adam and John helped me apply these concepts in real-world scenarios, making the learning process more practical and actionable. - What was the best part of being part of the Colab cohort? The best part of the cohort are the interactive live sessions. Topics like Discovery Done Right, Crafting Your Product Management Brand & Career Story, and Understanding Key Responsibilities & Expectations provided valuable insights. The combination of structured video lessons and live, practical workshops make the learning experience highly engaging. - Why would I recommend Colab to other product people? I’d recommend Colab to anyone looking for a practical, community-driven approach to product management. Unlike traditional courses, this program blends theory with hands-on practice, peer feedback, and expert-led sessions. It’s ideal for both aspiring and experienced product professionals who want to refine their skills in a supportive and structured environment.

Taking Colab Cohorts’ Advanced Product Management course was a real inflection point for me. It reignited my confidence as a product leader and meaningfully expanded my toolkit. I gained fresh lenses for tackling product problems and picked up practical frameworks that are already shaping my day-to-day decisions. The cohort model made all the difference—learning alongside a diverse, motivated group sparked lively debates and pushed my thinking further. By the end of the course I felt genuinely energised, fizzing with fresh ideas. If you’re looking to sharpen your craft, swap insights with peers, and leave buzzing with inspiration, I can’t recommend this programme enough.

Product Management can be a lonely road — unless you're learning with others on the same path. I’ve just wrapped up the Advanced Product Management Cohort with Colab Cohorts — one of the most energising and practical learning experiences I’ve had in a while. Huge thanks to Anesh Budhabhai for leading such a thoughtful program, and to an incredible group of peers who made each session insightful and honest — especially Caroline Little, Ben Reyngoud, Gareth McMullin and Darren Neo, who I’m lucky to stay connected with here. Over 6 weeks, we covered: 📊 Strategy that drives real outcomes 🗺️ Prioritisation and roadmap execution 🧪 Experimentation that adds clarity, not chaos 🗣️ Leadership and communication that actually land 👉 Happy to chat about if you're considering levelling up.

Last month I completed a six-week course with Colab Cohorts on Mastering Product Strategy 🥳 I got so much from being a part of this cohort and really loved the balance of online learning materials for pre or post session reading, live virtual workshops and break-out rooms! It was also a great opportunity to connect with some super smart Product peeps and getting to learn from their own lived experiences 🤩 Thank you for the amazing facilitation, Toby Delamore 🙌 One of my favourite quotes from you in the beginning really stuck with me - "It's not my job to create the strategy, it's my job to facilitate conversations and make decisions based on their input." This was such a great reminder of the importance of not creating a strategy in isolation - you need to get out there and listen to your customers and stakeholders for it to be effective!

A special thanks to John Bowker for running an engaging learning experience and Adam Davis for creating a positive space for upskilling and networking across the globe. Getting Back Up was my product concept; an app designed to help those struggling with mental health and gaining positive momentum in the darkest of times. I received very positive feedback around the concept and my presentation skills. I really enjoyed the experience and may even try my hand at making a working MVP.

Studying the basics of Product Management has completely transformed my approach. Doing this alongside my master's in business analysis has greatly enriched my grasp of how these roles function within organizations. I've really appreciated all the anecdotes our course leader, John, has shared, which have boosted my enthusiasm and interest in the product field. Also, the Colab Mentorship program is incredibly beneficial and I'm confident it will make a significant difference in my career trajectory.

The Product Management Foundations course is an excellent course for aspiring and even current Product professionals. The content is relevant and immediately useful, and opens the door enough to send you down the world of product management. I have found it both engaging and useful in both reinforcing what I know about product management but also challenging long held (potentially incorrect) beliefs.

The mastering product strategy cohort was a great combination of reinforcing (and putting some structure) around things I already knew and introducing some new concepts, nuance, and frameworks that I can apply to my everyday work. And it's far more than just the well-run live sessions. There's a very comprehensive online course and workbook that I can refer back to whenever I want to refresh my memory and reinforce what I learnt.

I'm a principal consultant at a strategic design agency - Not strictly working is a PM, but lots of tangental scenarios in the work we do across service design, CX and supporting teams refine, design and develop propositions to take to market. Cohort's APM course has given me a bunch of learnings, insights and frameworks that were immediately applicable to my day-to-day work. It's a great balance between theory and practical activities. I got a lot of the value from hearing stories and experiences and questions from the participants and our instructor. I'm most excited to have ongoing access to the growing community of incredible product people and resources to continue learning from. Would definitely recommend this course not only for it's great content but for the community you get access to too.

I am so proud to share that I received my certificiate for Adavanced Product Management course with Colab Cohorts I have learned so much and gained a fair bit of advice from Shameem Daneshmend and Chris Stevens the past few weeks. I feel a lot more confident in prioritizing work, stakeholder collaboration and communication, and how a solid product strategy can guide PM's to do great work. Huge thank you to Colab Cohorts as well for the scholarship. It's been a great opportunity to grow and I can't thank you enough.

🖖 Thanks to Hannah Simpson, Joe Weaver and Adam Davis of Colab Cohorts for coming down to Planes Studio for the latest installment of Dead Product Society. 🖖 I loved the reminder shared by Adam that, like Pokemon, we "all evolve in different ways". 💹 There's no one route into PM and every company is different so its no surprise we each develop distinct skills. To me, it's always worth remembering that the environment determines the requirements - in work and personal development. Bulbasaur's never gonna be a Charizard nor should they try to. ✳ 🍀 🔥 Hannah Simpson and Joe Weaver do an amazing job, creating a safe space to learn for PMs and those wanting to get into PM. Check out Dead Product Society to join them at their next event.

Forget the Hype: Growth is About Mindset 🧠 Career growth can feel overwhelming. Advice books and videos abound. The truth is, that real growth goes deeper than just consuming information. Attending a recent workshop hosted by Dead Product Society and Colab Cohorts reinforced the idea: It's about a changed mindset – focusing intently on your goals and taking actionable steps 🚀. Adam Davis from Colab Cohorts emphasized that everyone grows at a different pace and in a unique way. Obvious? Maybe...but how often do we forget about it? 😬 😅 Here's a reminder 🤓: What are your goals, and what are my resources? Finding your own path is the first step, then following it with determination and actions. Huge shout-out to Hannah Simpson and Joe Weaver for organizing such an impactful event! 👏 👏 👏 Meetups like these are more than just helpful – they're genuinely inspiring ✨. Connecting with like-minded product people fosters a growth mentality and offers valuable insights. Amazing hosting from Planes Studio – awesome space! 😁 hashtag #growthmindset hashtag #careerdevelopment hashtag #leadership hashtag #productdesign hashtag #productmanagement

As a new product manager learning on the job, the Product Management Fundamentals course is a great course. I have learnt so much, and it has helped to fill in some of the gaps I had, as work priorities and other constraints mean sometimes you jump or miss processes out in order to move fast and deliver to customers.

What I really enjoyed about the training that Adam gave us was that he really took time up front to learn about how our organization works and some of the challenges we have and tailored his training to make it meaningful for me in my current role. Too often I've been through training sessions where you get taught a bunch of theory and given tips from how other tech companies work (or from industry experts) which wont work for us in our organization for "reasons". Id rather take one very useful thing that I can use in my role the very next day, rather than 10 pieces of useful knowledge which I may or may not remember in the future because Im not using them in a practical sense. Adam taught me something which Im now literally using the week after the training session.

Alastair - Sales and Product Lead for a design led payment tech SaaS start up. My cohort sessions with John and the other members were responsible for growing my product frameworks and in depth knowledge around product and how best to execute from concept through to launch. The best thing about part of the Colab sessions, had to be the practical break out rooms, ensuring we had hands on experience with our cohort to build on, debate and pivot on ideas and apply taught frameworks. I would recommend Colab to aspiring product people and even seasoned veterans.

I had a great experience with Colab Cohorts! The program provided an in-depth exploration of the problem space, which taught me to continue referring back to the problem, and the techniques to get to the root cause. The range of techniques and tools shared enriched my understanding and equipped me with versatile skills that facilitated communication and justified data driven decisions, while crafting my own product concept added a practical dimension. This made the learning journey truly comprehensive. Colab Cohorts has undoubtedly elevated my knowledge and skills in product management and confidence in problem-solving. Thanks!

During the cohorts, I was able to pick up a lot of practical framework for daily work and also learning from everyone’s sharing and lessons. The program has boosted my confidence in planning and executing in first go-to-market strategy in my product career.

Product Owner, Marigold

Hi! My name is Belinda Ancell, Product Owner at Marigold. In 2022, I was fortunate enough to join a Product Management Fundamentals cohort with Colab. I was interested in pursuing a product career after several years working as a Business Analyst, and I was conscious that Product is notoriously difficult to break into. I researched several courses that could help me achieve my goal, and Colab was the standout for me. What was most appealing was being taught by existing product practitioners and leaders working for some of NZ's most successful tech companies. We were not being taught text book theory, but practical, tried and tested tools and frameworks, utilised by experienced product practitioners. Having the opportunity to create a product from scratch under their mentorship, also gave me a great understanding of the end-to-end product management process. Working alongside cohort peers as they also developed their products, ensured a collaborative and positive team dynamic throughout. The learning doesn't end at the completion of the cohort - I've used the Colab network to since ask product advice and I've also received advice and mentorship when applying for product roles. A year after completing the course, I landed a remote Product Owner role with marketing tech firm, Marigold. I believe Colab not only played a significant part in helping me achieve this, but it has also given me a solid foundation for my future product career.

On top of this, I learn about so many frameworks that I can apply in my current role and progress to my career. The best thing about a cohort is I can learn from my Instructor, and my peers from different industries! For a person who would like to get into Product World and grow as a Product Person, this is a good course for an introduction and learning from different people from a different industry :)

I'm in my first role as a Product Owner so I found the Product Management Fundamentals course a great way to get across the foundations and key concepts of Product. We did lots of practical exercises to put the theory into practise and I would recommend this course to others starting out in their product career, or thinking about a career in product, and wanting to arm themselves with the key fundamentals.

- Hi I'm Cecile and I am a senior product manager at LawVu. - With busy schedules and never ending to-do list, I found this cohort gave me the space and time to really reflect on how I am approaching my work and reassess how to make the biggest impact not only for the products I am caretaker of but also my wider team and stakeholders. - Anesh was fantastic and really brought a lot of value for me personally. He was kind enough to spare some of his personal time to help me through some of the challenges I have had with Design review with senior leadership. - I think it's very important to set aside some time to review your own practices and approach - are they still relevant, are they still serving me and my business. When you don't have a strong product practice at the office or the time to implement, courses such as this is invaluable.

I am currently leading product for robotic automation at DroneDeploy. Despite the name we are largely automating ground robots like Boston Dynamics Spot. Colab has been the best product related course I have done. Very engaging in the cohort style and being able to break each of the sessions into smaller groups for discussion. Product strategy can be a daunting topic with no magic bullet framework to use. This course was great at giving real-world examples across different industries and companies. The best thing about the cohort was being able to work on your own product strategy throughout the course. You could apply what you learnt each week and build on this over the course. You then come away with something you can actually utilise in your work. I would highly recommend it to any other product leaders as strategy really amplifies your ability to make an impact!
