Upskilling into IT Audit has been an exciting journey—and taking part in the Synergy Program was a major highlight of that process. The sessions significantly deepened my understanding of IT controls, and the training delivered by @Toby DeRoche (February/March 2026) was truly one of the best educational experiences I’ve had. One of my biggest takeaways? You don’t need to be a specialist in every technical area. With the right guidance, framework, and foundational technical knowledge, you can effectively assess IT controls. I’d highly recommend the Synergy Program to anyone who’s unsure whether they’re heading in the right direction when stepping into IT audit or planning to review IT controls.

I participated in the SYNERGY training in July 2025, and it exceeded my expectations. As a SOX professional focused on business process controls, I already had a working knowledge of IT SOX — but SYNERGY truly helped me connect BP and IT SOX in ways I hadn’t fully realized before.

The practical focus — including top-down risk assessments, IT SOX scoping business cases, and real-world examples — made the content immediately applicable. I also appreciated the opportunity to discuss real challenges from my day-to-day work, including SDLCs (as we implement SAP), SOC reports, IPEs, and emerging cybersecurity risks.
