Founder, Conversion Punkt
I was about to be laid off and pondering my next move. I split my time between starting my own business and job hunting. Matt's session outlined the problems of dividing my attention between two very different goals. His advice helped me choose to fully commit to my business where I felt most energised and I immediately ended the job hunt!

1. Focus and Validation
I was aware of Matt and WeTeachCRO as we actually worked on a project at Sage to help the content team improve the blogs performance. I was part of an internal CRO team and WeTeachCRO was brought in as an external vendor.
Several years later I co-founded an Analytics and CRO business of my own, I always knew I was good at what I did but when you're in business the only indicator of this is if you have clients and are making enough money, so it's damn easy to start building up layer after layer of imposter syndrome.
I'd already spoken to several people in the industry but they were a bit of a closed book and bravado often overtook the truth, because it's never nice to admit to someone that you're not doing well.
I happened to see Matt posting on Linkedin and thought I'd reach out for a short chat.
One clear thing that stood out to me after our initial call was that he didn't care about how many tests I had been running, the tools I was using or the money and clients that I had, he genuinely seemed to care about me, the person.
His support extended beyond generic tips and tools and instead we addressed deeper core topics such as the reasons for running the business in the first place.
When you've been running a business for several years it's hard to admit that you often don't know what you're doing or the reasons for it, but by speaking to Matt I was able to not only realise that we needed go to back to square one and acknowledge the core reasons that we set up the business but with his help we were also able to see that we needed to be clear on what was keeping us going too.
2. Key business decisions.
I reached out to Matt as I had seen that he had recently exited his business (WeTeachCRO).
At the time we were also pursuing a similar path but we were complete novices in the area and knew there was bound to be multiple pitfalls waiting for us to fall into.
In the past Matt had been an open, honest and transparent book when it came to business and strategic advice. I can honestly say reaching out was one of the best decisions myself and my Co-founder had made, as not only was he able to provide some strong financial and strategic advice on how to navigate the decision, he also ventured into advice about doing what's right for us as people.
Business advice is generally available in a multitude of places but Matt goes beyond just providing business and strategic advice. He will genuinely look out for your best interests and provide support that helps you as a person and you as a business owner.

Head of Optimisation
I'm Aline and I've been working with Matt for years. Most recently, as the Head of Optimisation at WeTeachCRO. I was not surprised when Matt started developing his Effectiveness at Work sessions. Out of all the mentors/managers I've had, he has by far been the most impactful. He's one of these people who can look at a multifaceted problem and extricate a feasible solution. He reads people well and can guide them on how to get the best out of themselves. As such, he is a talented adviser who will help you achieve your most efficient work self. I was lucky that I got to benefit from his knowledge as his employee. I would recommend him to anyone in need of a work life reboot.

Optimisation Development Manager
I've required guidance and support in three key areas: work prioritization, managing personnel matters, and addressing personal issues. Matt has consistently provided effective guidance, maintaining a calm, logical, impartial, non judgemental and supportive demeanour. Through his assistance, I've developed a personal toolkit not only beneficial for the current challenge but also applicable to any future related issues. Thanks to Matt's support, his deep understanding and empathy, I now feel more effective and confident in managing personnel issues, including hiring suitable candidates, disciplinary procedures, workload prioritization, and personal development.
