So many of the conversations I have with ecommerce brands are around the challenges they have with updating their online stores—from needing their developers to do the simplest things to not being able to add new products for 6 months because it's too difficult and their devs are too busy. It doesn't have to be like this! The "low-code rebase" approach we are taking at Lucid is to help brands either replatform to Shopify Plus or rebuild quickly and nimbly following industry best-practices—leaving nice-to-haves and we-need-this-very-specific-functionality-because-we-think-our-customers-like it features for fast-follow or future phases of work. What ends up happening with this approach is that we can roll out migrations and rebuilds in 2 months instead of 6, our clients are stoked with the immediate wins, and they realize their backlog of dozens of "required" features and functionality are no longer required—or are way down the list. The conversation quickly switches to "we want to grow AOV" or "we want to improve LTV"—a shift towards goals and objectives and away from the features that may or may not actually be needed after all. We can then gather data and test assumptions to determine what to focus on or build next. This approach is better for small brands with limited budgets who just need to launch so they can start validating their market and it's better for really large brands that are investing heavily in growth and marketing and need to be nimbler and move faster to react to the demands of their marketing teams. It's better for most brands, regardless of scale. It's not the cheapest approach but it will absolutely give you the best return on your investment!
