[MED-SURG MINDSET] Hannah's task list is a game changer. I just got a new job as a medsurg nurse in an LTAC. I am usually doing well at the start of the shift, but I tend to lose track of the things I needed to do in the afternoon around lunch time, and long after all the scheduled morning medications have already been given to my patients. After I made some modifications to the task list to specifically address the routine tasks I have on the floor where I currently work, the form certainly helped take off the pressure I often felt prior to discovering this very effective and handy tool. I truly appreciate this section, and I am also fully grateful that I purchased the full dose program. Every course is worth so much more than what I paid for. Thank you so much!
[NURSING SKILLS REFRESH] When asked what did you find most helpful, and Anonymous RN said: Basic skills! I've been a nurse for 12 years but working outpatient. It's amazing how much you forget and that you don't even know you don't know anymore.
[CRITICAL THINKING] I appreciated all of it! The time management and prioritization were very helpful, I love the cognitive ease/relaxation suggestions. I also appreciate the honesty and all of the shared experiences. Great recommendations on communication with the docs, patients, family, and teammates. It was a really great class and think every new or struggling nurse can benefit from it! Wish I had this when I was still officially a new grad, but I am so grateful to have it now. Thanks a lot! :)
[MED-SURG MINDSET] When asked: Did anything really resonate and really hit home? Donna said: Everything! Thank you so much for this course, it has helped me immensely.
[PRECEPTOR PRO] It was very helpful to just evaluate myself as a preceptor and the course gave so many good questions to ask myself and my preceptee so we both can be our best.
[PRECEPTOR PRO] I think reflecting on going into precepting being friendly but not making a friend was impactful. It is hard to have those difficult conversations for improvement, so getting tips to create a friendly environment while maintaining objectivity made me really reflect on my self.
[CHARGE NURSE JUMP START] I really enjoyed the down to earth conversational style that the information was presented in. It made it easy to understand and interesting to pay attention too. I also really found the scenarios relatable and the responses helpful for my position.
[CHARGE NURSE JUMP START] The slides and clips were short but bold and kept my attention. Very informative and useful. I like the "in your pocket sentences or statements" for different situations.
Great course! Very comprehensive course that addresses many of the common concerns of a new med surg nurse. I have returned to the med surg floor after a 9 year absence, so this has been very helpful. This a great course for a new grad or nurse returning to the field, highly recommend! I’m not sure how to receive my test score though and CE credits. No email received.
In response to a feedback survey on 'Nursing Skills Refresh', when asked if they found anything particularly helpful, an Anonymous RN said "everything, great refresh".
[NEURO WISE] Fantastic course!! I'm grateful to have this content for continued reference! I would definitely recommend it to all new neuro nurses and those in other specialties who wish to have a deeper understanding of the neuro realm! The modules were concise but very informative! I love the explanations of the pathologies and the assessment information with examples! I will definitely be able to take this knowledge to the bedside to help me become a more proficient neuro nurse! Assessment videos were very helpful! I work on a neuro med-surg unit, so most of the modules were applicable for providing either refreshers or an increase in understanding on relevant topics. (Some content was more for ICU but it is still great to know about, and maybe someday I'll venture to that specialty!)
[MED-SURG MINDSET] I absolutely loved it, it is a long story but in short, this literally changed my nursing life and myself. I am a baby nurse who is about to start working as a nurse in 2 weeks! I used this course for like 3 weeks to 1 month and I absolutely loved it. What's special about this course, is that it's touching and very educational. I was not ready at all even though I passed with 75 questions on the NCLEX; I can surely say this course prepared me to be a successful nurse (maybe more than my school...). It literally runs through from A (once you wake up to get ready for the shift=mindset) to Z (sign off and report to next shift nurse). The details that this course contains is AMAZING, it touches on everything (it is the perfect course for future perfect nurses). Honestly, I don't feel I am alone in this journey and have Katie in the background talking and encouraging me when I am down. I really really loved your course so much and am definitely looking forward to trying other courses. This course got your back!
I really appreciated the personal anecdotes and recommendations on substance use disorder, discharge planning for complex cases (ie., patients without an address), and end of life care, especially because these topics were not thoroughly reviewed or taught in nursing school. You provided real world experiences as bedside nurses that provided more context into what med-surg nursing is all about. The whole course was thorough and I learned new things that I will definitely apply in my nursing practice. The end of life care really hit home for me, especially because I have had several comfort care patients and my grandfather is currently on hospice. I wish I had completed this course before my first year as a med-surg nurse. Overall, I feel more prepared in having completed this course. Thank you so much for creating this website and developing these courses so thoughtfully. I am so grateful!
[NEW NURSE MASTER CLASS] I appreciated the well rounded nature of the course- from nursing skills, etc. to self care and sleeping. I also really appreciated including other members of the care team and what they do, and how to be respectful (cool vs. not cool- nurses are notoriously NOT cool to environmental services, thanks for mentioning our hard working co-workers.) I really enjoyed the section on providers and the interviews with APP and PT. The structure of the hospital is hard to understand, this course really helped. The communication tips are excellent and very helpful. This course lays out "a day in the life" of what a real nursing shift in a hospital looks like, which helps me feel significantly less lost as a new nurse new to hospital care. The time management, patient flow etc., are super helpful and practical. Including specific examples (like the patient who refuses therapy and meals, or the ICU nurse who copies previous documentation) help make the concepts you teach tangible, and I personally can better retain information that is attached to a story. Great course, thank you.
[BREAKTHROUGH ICU] I had been recommending this course and your free content on my unit for WEEKS. Nobody seemed super interested. I left out a copy of your ICU drip chart at my nurses station one shift… lo and behold I suddenly noticed photocopies of it at the other nurse stations, taped to other more experienced RNs' clipboards. It even showed up in my 'helpful references file' from our unit educator… funny thing. After that, I had a few nurses approach me to ask about this course, saying that our manager suggested they ask me about it. I raved, of course!!
In response to a feedback survey, Alexander confirmed that 'Breakthrough ICU' covered the right amount of material, was priced correctly, and was beneficial!
[CRITICAL THINKING] The guidance re: communicating with physicians was excellent. I'm grateful to have had multiple preceptors that helped with this, too - it's great to have another perspective as well. Communication is KEY for patient success!
[MED-SURG MINDSET] Wonderful course with tons of important information.
