The one thing I truly appreciated about this program is that I was allowed to eat a 'full' plate of nutritious food, including food items that I enjoy! Unlike many diets that I tried in the past I did not feel constantly hungry or denied food that I enjoyed eating.
In December 2023 I received a surprised diagnosis of 'borderline diabetes.' As someone who has chronic kidney disease that is not diabetic related this was a strong concern for me and my physician. I was given the option to go on medication; however, I have many medication allergies and I opted to try to lose weight on my own. I knew that I could not do a temporary diet and had to make a committed choice to a lifestyle change. I was stumbling through all sorts of materials on diabetes that became quickly frustrating. Then I found FPL. Once I researched and committed to the program it became my lifeline for change. Not only did I lose 25 pounds, I reversed the diabetic diagnosis, I was not as bothered by inflammatory issues, my blood pressured was lower, and I felt stronger, having more energy to do the things I wanted to do. Did it fix everything? No. Did it make a worthwhile change to my life? Yes, absolutely!
Overall I feel much better than I did 20 months ago. I have more energy. My clothes fit better. Am I a skinny runway model? No. That is unrealistic, but I am much healthier. Do I still struggle with emotional eating habits? Yes, but if I make a mistake today then I recommit and recharge my mind in the FPL plan. Is it hard to eat out with friends and family? Yes and No. You do have to be more mindful when eating out, but there are restaurants that offer water soluble foods and healthier protein options. If for some reason I don't have good choices, but need to eat, I modify my diet for that meal and then get back on the FPL program. Eating at friend's and family dinners means I offer to take a couple of dishes that give me FPL options. I find that my friends and family are interested in new dishes and usually like them very much. I have even had them ask how they can start changing their lives. I am happy to tell them about my journey, how FPL changed my life, and the best part - FPL is FREE to anyone who truly desires to make a lasting change.

I have a habit tracker on my phone that helps me with my activity goals and one to log what I eat. My A1C had been steadily increasing over several years and I was frustrated. I had lost weight, was exercising, attended a weekly 6 month health insurance Group for pre diabetes , dieted and logged my food for a year. I consulted with a “non diet” dietician. My A1C went up.
After all that effort I started using the Kajabi app and read a FPL post about a person who no longer logged her food and used the 75/25 plate. I thought if I eat this way it could give me freedom. The previous advice I’d received was focused on a dieting mindset hidden in terms like life style change.
FPL has given me a fabulous tool with evidence based information. Especially practical ways to understand and improve blood sugar control.
I am a work in progress and making lifestyle changes that add pleasure not restriction. My A1C decreased from 5.9 to 5.6 after 5 months.

It is a step by step process that teaches you about food, eating challenges, deciphering food labels, how to make good food choices, teaches healthy and tasty recipes, and offers a community of online support. The one thing I truly appreciated about this program is that I was allowed to eat a 'full' plate of nutritious food, including food items that I enjoy! Unlike many diets that I tried in the past I did not feel constantly hungry or denied food that I enjoyed eating.
In December 2023 I received a surprised diagnosis of 'borderline diabetes.' As someone who has chronic kidney disease that is not diabetic related this was a strong concern for me and my physician. I was given the option to go on medication; however, I have many medication allergies and I opted to try to lose weight on my own. I knew that I could not do a temporary diet and had to make a committed choice to a lifestyle change. I was stumbling through all sorts of materials on diabetes that became quickly frustrating. Then I found FPL. Once I researched and committed to the program it became my lifeline for change. Not only did I lose 25 pounds, I reversed the diabetic diagnosis, I was not as bothered by inflammatory issues, my blood pressured was lower, and I felt stronger, having more energy to do the things I wanted to do. Did it fix everything? No. Did it make a worthwhile change to my life? Yes, absolutely!
Overall I feel much better than I did 20 months ago. I have more energy. My clothes fit better. Am I a skinny runway model? No. That is unrealistic, but I am much healthier. Do I still struggle with emotional eating habits? Yes, but if I make a mistake today then I recommit and recharge my mind in the FPL plan. Is it hard to eat out with friends and family? Yes and No. You do have to be more mindful when eating out, but there are restaurants that offer water soluble foods and healthier protein options. If for some reason I don't have good choices, but need to eat, I modify my diet for that meal and then get back on the FPL program. Eating at friend's and family dinners means I offer to take a couple of dishes that give me FPL options. I find that my friends and family are interested in new dishes and usually like them very much. I have even had them ask how they can start changing their lives. I am happy to tell them about my journey, how FPL changed my life, and the best part - FPL is FREE to anyone who truly desires to make a lasting change.

My A1C had been steadily increasing over several years and I was frustrated. I had lost weight, was exercising, attended a weekly 6 month health insurance Group for pre diabetes , dieted and logged my food for a year. I consulted with a “non diet” dietician. My A1C went up.
After all that effort I started using the Kajabi app and read a FPL post about a person who no longer logged her food and used the 75/25 plate. I thought if I eat this way it could give me freedom. The previous advice I’d received was focused on a dieting mindset hidden in terms like life style change.
FPL has given me a fabulous tool with evidence based information. Especially practical ways to understand and improve blood sugar control.
I am a work in progress and making lifestyle changes that add pleasure not restriction. My A1C decreased from 5.9 to 5.6 after 5 months.

I have completed both the new and older version of the program and in fact plan to work through the new program at a much slower pace to really integrate new habits into my routine. After completion of the older program and immediate implementation of basics my cholesterol dropped to ~150. It had previously been over 300. I no longer take medication for it. I have much more energy and my mood has improved significantly. Weight loss is still a struggle however.

I have completed both the new and older version of the program and in fact plan to work through the new program at a much slower pace to really integrate new habits into my routine. After completion of the older program and immediate implementation of basics my cholesterol dropped to ~150. It had previously been over 300. I no longer take medication for it. I have much more energy and my mood has improved significantly. Weight loss is still a struggle however.
