I only have amazing things to say about Floyd and Sandra! They’re my family now! Before beginning this class, I was nervous and worried I’d be sitting in a classroom for 10 days with no hands on experience. Now after the class has ended, I can say I really enjoyed this experience and my teachers! They did an amazing job not only preparing me for the NC exam and the national to obtain my license in the near future, but also letting us get hands on experience in actual houses, preparing us for starting our own businesses giving us the necessary skills and confidence we will need to be thorough and successful home inspectors!

This was a great course for learning about home inspection. Floyd is very knowledgeable and shared a wealth of practical, situational experiences. The 10 days went by quickly. In-the-field house inspections really provided necessary hands-on training.

Having just completed all online material prior to the class, instructor Pete’s in person class really reinforced ICA’s material. Pete took time to make sure every student had a solid understanding of what it takes to be a top of the line quality home inspector. Not only did he cover all needed material but he did so in a lively, interactive, and fun manner. At no point was I bored or felt lost. I would highly recommend taking ICA’s training program, the same way that ICA was recommended to me by all Home Inspector Professionals that I know in my field.

I chose ICA because 9 out of 10 inspectors I talked to about the profession said that ICA was one of the best courses out there and the one that they used themselves. Can you describe any specific skills or knowledge you gained during the training? I always struggled with heating and cooling system problem diagnosis. ICA showed me the difference in various boilers, furnaces, and AC units and explained in an easy to understand way and made me feel comfortable and more confident. Not only did I receive positive reinforcement in the class room, but I was showed all of the study materials, ICA community and forums that make you feel like family. They really make it hard for you to fail by giving you more than what is needed to succeed. For these reasons, I give ICA a 5 out of 5 and would recommend ICA everytime. From the basic license to all the extras such radon, mold, drone, spas, you name it, they have it.

My experience with Floyd Gibbs through the ICA Home Inspector training has been excellent. How I ended up in this program is not as important as where I am going to be after this program. And I am not sure that I can adequately convey just how good the field training portion of this program was for me personally. It wasn't about the course material. The modules were informative and, obviously, any time you can get hands-on experience learning in the field is going to be advantageous. But what truly made this program special for me was the instructor, Mr. Floyd Gibbs. If someone was ever destined to end up in a position where they could teach individuals....not instruct.....but to actually teach them, it was Floyd Gibbs. I joked at the end of the first day that Floyd was like a motivational speaker, teacher, and mentor all rolled into one. But it's actually true. When Floyd spoke, I listened and I was genuinely engaged. When he would teach us something new, he actually taught the 'why' behind what it was that he was teaching. I cannot express how important that part is when attempting to learn a new skill. And when Floyd aimed to motivate us, I truly felt motivated. So now, for the first time in a long time, I feel really excited about what my future entails. Anyone looking to take the field training portion of the home inspection training program needs to sign up for the class being taught by Floyd Gibbs. A++++

Robbie was a fantastic instructor with lots of knowledge and would answer everyone's questions. The flow was nice with manuals, videos, and questions. However, I would like to see a few opportunities for the class to engage with pictures of what is correct or wrong or what to look for in those scenarios. Also, a little time on how HIP works would be amazing because trying to learn it on the fly out in the field can be frustrating and actually turn people off from wanting to use it without proper navigation first. Otherwise the class was great and I would recommend Robbie and ICA to others, thank you. -Danny

Pete with ICA was fantastic. He's a great instructor and thoroughly taught the material. I feel better prepped for the NHIE and have a better fundamental understanding of report writing and what we do as inspectors.

Taking this class even though I have not completed the full 80 online was very helpfully. This in person class and the knowledge I received will help me in the modules that I have not ben through yet. The instructor Rob Ruggiero was fantastic and brought real world experiences to the training. Highly recommend ICA!!!!

So far I am enjoying the process. I have had some medical issues since signing on, yet that hasn't affected my learning. Had this been a conventional teaching experience i would've had to withdraw from classes. I've been able to do what I can, when I can. I Love it. Love how straight forward everything is, from what to look for, how detailed to get, etc. Thank you so much for making a program that is informative detailed and respected. I look forward to finishing the certification process and growing our family business. My husband who has over 40 years of construction experience is doing the class with me. Its fun having him do this too. Together we are able to talk about the certification. This is a plus for us being that we spend 100% of our time together. I'll update when certification is complete. Going through the marketing and building our LLC... this is going to be amazing.

Ica really helped me understand concept of home building, understanding of different materials and stiles. After all the Floyd stories I could really understand all what stands behind home inspections. I enjoyed going to classes and really opening myself there, Ica is family and I know they will be there for me.

I’ve never met another instructor, teacher, or educator that delivered the material better than Chris Kjeldsen. His instruction was clear, concise, interactive, and most importantly, it was FUN. His dedication to the home inspection profession shines through with every sentence. Chris goes above and beyond for his students, providing additional inspection templates and training materials. Just finished my field training with Chris Kjeldsen. His class was beyond my expectations. Even though the class was quite crowded, he made sure your questions were answered. He keep it real!

My Instructor Chris is very knowledgeable, He helped me setting up the HIP template, I felt very confortable asking any question and he always responded in a very nice way. He presented the information with clarity and he kept me awake, very positive and he is a great helper for my new career. I feel prepare to present then national exam. Chris is an excellent teacher.

The people are great, answered any questions iv had and helped with everything from start to finish.

So far it has been a very knowledgeable experience the modules are very indep on the different topics they explain every thing from the top of the house to the bottom I'm starting to notice things on houses including my own that I never noticed before

Course is well constructed for online learning and goes into details on many aspects of construction for those that need those explainations.

The ICA school has been extremely helpful & supportive in the process, from you not falling behind. Overall I enjoyed that apart from the knowledge they apply a mindset & belief that instills confidence, responsibility & blunt honesty within yourself. Something you can apply outside Home Inspection, in other careers or personal life. It was great learning experience, especially if have no experience or knowledge in Home Inspection.

Im partially through the home inspection course and I must say the material is structured properly. It's easy to understand the material and it is nice to learn at your own pace. If you have to stop in the middle of a module it remembers exactly where you are at and picks right up when you are ready. Love the fact that there is bonus material to learn about after the sun course is over. What's really cool is the marketing courses they offer afterwards too. Overall I say I'm overly impressed with this course!

I signed up for the ICA class last Fall but due to some life events wasn’t able to complete the field training. I signed up for the evening classes with Floyd and Sandra Gibbs as the instructors. I had no clue what to expect but knew I had to have an instructor who would make class interesting. On the first night of class, Floyd Gibbs did not disappoint!!!!
