Hello, everyone my name is Shelly Evans and I am a 42 year old single mother of 3 amazing boys. I got my GED July 24, 2024, after a difficult childhood being kicked out at 10 years old I never thought I could get my GED. I had some amazing people at Laurel County Adult Education who told me they would get me there. I went in and completed it in a little over 2 months. I am currently a full-time student in college to be a counselor, I want to touch others and show them anything is possible.

CONGRATS 2025 GED graduates!! As a fellow 2025 GED graduate, I am blessed to say that with getting my GED this year, I have been able to enroll in the University of Pikeville in Pikeville Kentucky! I will be starting this fall 2025 with the Music Education program! Hopefully in the next 4 years I will be a UPIKE graduate to start off my dream career as a band director! I struggled with school since I can remember. I would spend a month or two absent from school, but my struggle really got to a point of no return at the end of the first semester of my junior year of high school. It really hurt me and I didn’t know what to do after so many years of barley making it, this time was different. My parents finally suggested they pull me out of school in November 2023 and immediately got me into the GED program at Chat Tech and I earned my GED in August 2024 at 17 ❤️

So I got my GED because I was having trouble in high school. I graduated with my ged, and it has allowed me to move to my next chapter in my life. I am so amazed at the opportunities that getting my diploma has allowed me to do. Getting a GED is the best alternative pathway to success.

My name is Tiana and Im 39 years old and I earned my GED this passed October 2024. I’m now currently attending Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology for my esthetics license which I’ll be graduating next month (June 13, 2025). I dropped out of high school when i found out my ex girlfriend got pregnant with my son and made a promise to my papa before he passed away that i would go back get my ged my son inspired me to get my ged and he made me keep pushing myself so now im going to school for hvac if you havent got your ged then it isnt your time everything will fall into place at that time just dont give up when that time comes

Earning my GED opened doors I thought were closed forever. It allowed me to apply for better jobs, consider college, and feel confident about my future. It gave me a fresh start. I feel incredibly proud and emotional. I’m beyond proud! Watching someone overcome obstacles, stay committed, and achieve their GED is inspiring. It’s proof that it’s never too late to take charge of your life. I screamed! I jumped up and down, tears in my eyes. I took GED to go to college to study computer science.

I was so excited when I passed my GED I remember jumping around and telling everyone I passed, on my first try too. Because I had a positive mindset and I was saying positive affirmations after I finsihed. First of all, I took the GED test because I wanted to shorten the high school era and eliminate unnecessary subjects. After I know that I passed the tests, I told my bestie, then my family, and others. I can apply to any university in the world that accepts GEDs such as Chulalongkorn University in Thailand. I hope the result will be the best.

Earning my GED has allowed me to become a better woman and accomplish things that I couldn’t before. I got my GED which was ine thing I thought I would never be able to get the day I got the email I past was one of the happiest days of life tho I did not get a grad party or a big thing about it getting my GED helped me to go to college to look for a career that I wanted all my life I grew up believing I could never be nothing that I would never do nothing in life but be reckless and destroying my life and everyone around me. Yes I made mistakes but I also got to take a step in the future.

Earning my GED has allowed me to enroll in college to finally get a degree. I’m beyond excited to celebrate this milestone and will be walking across stage Saturday with Dallas Community College. This has been a long time coming. I have been starting and stopping GED courses since 2004, took my first test in 2021 and after 5 tries with math I’m finally able to exhale. On the 5th for math I was to scared to look at the scores but I got an email with the good news and cried like a big baby.

I felt extremely excited and happy.

I studied to obtain my GED to complete a secondary form of education and, in doing so, it has allowed me to continue on to college and pursue academic achievement. I was honestly in disbelief when realizing I passed! It was a surreal moment! The best advice I can share is study hard, ask questions, reach out for help as needed, and when test-day comes along, stay calm and relaxed :)

I decided to take my GED to create a better life for me and my two boys. After I passed I was able to start classes to get my LPN license last fall!

I just finished my GED classes and I’m beyond proud of the journey it took to get here. It wasn’t always easy, but I stayed focused, pushed through, and made it happen. Big thanks to everyone who supported me along the way—this is just the beginning! Watch out world, I’m coming for more!

I am a GED graduate! I finished my journey November of 2024. I am currently studying Early Childhood Education. I want to study Music Therapy and even Zoology in the future. I couldn’t believe I finally did it. I cried like a baby! It took me a few years. When I got married and had my children, I knew this is what I needed for my family and especially myself! My best tip is to study as much as you can! Also, using ear plugs helps to focus a lot more. (Especially when having toddlers!)

Earning my GED has allowed me to a lot. It has opened so many job doors for me. I am planning to attend college soon, too! When I passed the GED, my whole heart was full of gratitude and gratefulness. I took the GED so that I could complete my next level of education and improve in life. For me the best test-taking tip is STUDY PROPERLY AND REVISE and have faith in yourself! I think on my GRAD DAY, I will have so many cakes and no diet on that!!

Earning my GED after a traumatic experience that caused me to not finish high school, has really boosted my confidence. For the longest I never believed I was smart enough to get my GED , but with the support from my family and loved ones I finished the course and passed the test!
