I am a patient with multiple rare and chronic conditions. I am highly susceptible to complications when it comes to foodbourne illnesses. Using the FDAs med watch system is far too complex for quick reporting and the ability to easily check surrounding restaurants and stores. Using this service has saved me from getting sick so many times and when I've reported things when I did get sick, my local health department reached out to me too!! It's been an amazing service and helps people like me avoid things that could cause some serious health complications for us. I'm really happy with this service. My husband and I are both enrolled to get your alerts, ideal with severe Crohn’s disease, and have had a colostomy and subsequent reversal. I found iwaspoisoned.com after tasting a carefully cooked Butterball Turkey breast which tasted off. My husband served me my Thanksgiving meal right away as he put his together. I told him "something is wrong with this turkey, and it's NOT your cooking (we ALWAYS use a meat thermometer). I think I just Googled "I got food poisoning from a Butterball Turkey breast" & many links popped up including yours. I signed up right away -- there were already reports of people getting sick from Butterball! Further research on the company sealed the deal. And they don't care, they are a cruel company, the turkeys are raised under unsanitary conditions & former staff spoke of how cruel some of the workers there are to the poor birds. I read all my "IWasPoisoned" alerts, forward many and have recommended your site to many people (one just a few minutes ago -- she can't wait to share with her husband)!. I’m a middle-aged man that woke up with intense symptoms typical of food poisoning and my single change in nutrition occurred last night when I ate French fries with ketchup. Both items had not been opened for use before then. I at much of both and then slept. This morning I awoke to intense abdominal bloating, pain, and burping. Heartburn hit later as I tried to work. By noon I only wanted to take some over-the -counter meds and lie down with my head at an angle. I went online to search for what my symptoms indicated and came across iwaspoisoned.com. Feeling out the form and submitting it gave me an outlet for my frustrating predicament. I didn’t expect much to come of it as my ordeal is but a single anecdotal experience. But 1 complaint can become one of tens, hundreds and thousands that may help prevent more suffering.
