It was a tough crowd being end of conference but Dennis brought energy and enthusiasm to his presentation. I thought it was effective that he stood mid room to be closer to his audience.
I would recommend Dennis as a speaker on leadership. He focused content specifically on self-leadership, which is sometimes difficult to swallow for leaders. I was able to participate in LDG’s two-day Intentional Leadership Workshop in July of 2024. I do have a graduate degree in Nursing with a focus in Nursing Leadership. The information shared in this two-day workshop not only caused me to examine my thinking but also helped me refine my approach to effectively leading my team. I think the practical application of basic leadership skills was the most profound take away for me. I would highly recommend the content to anyone at any level of Leadership. One of my philosophies is to find the positive side of adversity. You changed my thinking…in a positive way.

So when I'm doing that at home, I remember the ruler and think, "Is this a zero or a one hundred?" If it's a zero or a one, then my brain says, "It's only a zero, so you can fix it tomorrow or work on it later," and it's all okay.

I now see how asking my 2 1/2 year old son the powerful questions I learned in this study and adjusting them for him. they are "do you want to do this or do you want to do that?" and empowering him to chose and take responsibility and me staying in control of the conversation. The ultimate test! if it works for a 2/12 year old you know its got be good!
There are so many incredible tools I gained from this course! I feel more powerful in handling excuses and challenges my clients bring to me and finding out what is under the iceberg and building their trust in me. I could go on and on but you got to do this course for yourself and lessen the stress and load and see how your team can do those things you really want them to do for themselves.

Dennis did a great job ‘breaking the ice’ with our facilities staff (an often tough audience). One of the first things Dennis did was an exercise that required the team to talk to each other and work together. From that point forward he had their attention and interest. The content was perfect. Dennis focused on a few key principles, then built upon them to reinforce his message. I really enjoyed how he simplified a very complex concept (perfect for a facilities team). I have had Dennis present to a wide variety of audiences at the university and I would strongly recommend him to other business leaders. His message is undeniably interesting, effective and impactful.

I was able to put my emotional intelligence to work. I had the opportunity to get to know myself better by exploring my working style. I am constantly referring to my personal assessment tools that were completed in class to understand myself and members of my team. This training has given me a chance to take a step back to examine the bigger picture and think about how the future may unfold. This course helped me see my challenges from a different perspective. I was able to increase my confidence and understand different work relationships by handling each team member differently. I have been able to have a positive experience with coworkers. In this course, I had the opportunity to network with other campus leaders and draw on their experiences. Together, we all have had the opportunity to collaborate with each other and share skills. Knowing how to develop and communicate my vision, especially during a time of change, can empower and motivate others.

When I come to these conferences, I go back at the end of the day to my hotel room and think, “Was it worth it?”. I travel 5 hours from the very most eastern and southern county in the state of Idaho to come and I always am concerned that I am using my time the best that I can. I already know that today was worth it! You gave me practical examples and ways to improve on my leadership. You gave me real tools to use to improve! Thank you! It was very valuable to me, and I am glad that I was here. I attended both of your presentations this morning and was glad that I did.
