It was a tough crowd being end of conference but Dennis brought energy and enthusiasm to his presentation. I thought it was effective that he stood mid room to be closer to his audience. I would recommend Dennis as a speaker on leadership. He focused content specifically on self-leadership, which is sometimes difficult to swallow for leaders. Dennis was energetic and enthusiastic about the material and very knowledgeable about the subject. He presented it in a way that was easily digestible and relevant to any level of leader.

I enjoyed the Leadership 101 session led by Steve. He did a great job drawing the team members out to discuss the modules they completed. The team members discuss different ways to host conversations and connect the dots between accountability and level of care. I think it's a great course for new managers or team members interested in management. The session reveals common leadership challenges you cannot learn in a tradition classroom setting.

The Emotionally Intelligent course is fantastic... I've only been through the first module, but it's: Simple. Actionable. Fast. There's everything a person needs to act...and nothing else.

Dennis was easy to work with. He was prepared, professional, timely and flexible to the needs of our group. His delivery method and acronyms made the content easy to understand and apply. Dennis was so easy to work with! Scheduling and communicating with him for our conference was stress-free. Wish all speakers were like this! He uses a very unique approach during his keynote sessions with real-life examples that we can all relate to with solutions and tools to take home and implement. I've never been in a training where someone has asked what we want to get out of the training and actually follows through on making sure that we touch on each point. So I really appreciated that, and really liked that Dennis was able to connect the frameworks to some of the things that our staff wanted to get out of the training themselves. A lot of our staff really enjoyed that they can use the tools, not only in their professional life, but also in their personal life.

I was able to participate in LDG’s two-day Intentional Leadership Workshop in July of 2024. I do have a graduate degree in Nursing with a focus in Nursing Leadership. The information shared in this two-day workshop not only caused me to examine my thinking but also helped me refine my approach to effectively leading my team. I think the practical application of basic leadership skills was the most profound take away for me. I would highly recommend the content to anyone at any level of Leadership. Dennis was our closing keynote speaker at the SCCUA Collaboration Conference and ended the first day of our conference with a bang! Dennis brings and energy and enthusiasm about his presentation that kept the audience engaged and wanting to hear more. I like having tools to guide discussions. I tend to overthink things and [the Emotionally Intelligent Course] helps me not do so much of that.

I have actually been using the ruler [from the Emotionally Intelligent Course] because I get overworked and I start overthinking. So when I'm doing that at home, I remember the ruler and think, "Is this a zero or a one hundred?" If it's a zero or a one, then my brain says, "It's only a zero, so you can fix it tomorrow or work on it later," and it's all okay.

Every [Emotionally Intelligent Course] module that we do we can directly associate it with something that's happening in our professional lives right now. It's really helped us getting through that transition.

This course has empowered me to see myself as the powerful leader I am and want to become. I now see how asking my 2 1/2 year old son the powerful questions I learned in this study and adjusting them for him. they are "do you want to do this or do you want to do that?" and empowering him to chose and take responsibility and me staying in control of the conversation. The ultimate test! if it works for a 2/12 year old you know its got be good! There are so many incredible tools I gained from this course! I feel more powerful in handling excuses and challenges my clients bring to me and finding out what is under the iceberg and building their trust in me. I could go on and on but you got to do this course for yourself and lessen the stress and load and see how your team can do those things you really want them to do for themselves.

As Learning Chair for EO Raleigh-Durham, I asked Dennis to come speak to our chapter members about how to nurture high functioning teams in their businesses. Dennis did a great job ‘breaking the ice’ with our facilities staff (an often tough audience). One of the first things Dennis did was an exercise that required the team to talk to each other and work together. From that point forward he had their attention and interest. The content was perfect. Dennis focused on a few key principles, then built upon them to reinforce his message. I really enjoyed how he simplified a very complex concept (perfect for a facilities team). I have had Dennis present to a wide variety of audiences at the university and I would strongly recommend him to other business leaders. I was able to put my emotional intelligence to work. I had the opportunity to get to know myself better by exploring my working style. I am constantly referring to my personal assessment tools that were completed in class to understand myself and members of my team. I was able to increase my confidence and understand different work relationships by handling each team member differently. I have been able to have a positive experience with coworkers. Knowing how to develop and communicate my vision, especially during a time of change, can empower and motivate others.
