Being in this Biomimicry Practitioners Programme has been a very inspiring and enriching journey! Fascinating to see how looking from the perspective of functions opens new doors to look in a different, out-of-the-box way to your challenge.
The Biomimicry Framework is such a rich methodology to find mechanisms and design principles in nature that could - in my case often metaphorically - be translated into success principles for innovation in (collaboration in) a circular biobased economy.
It gave me new insights that I can and will apply in my work, further exploring this with production chain partners to establish a successful coalition in moving from environmentally damaging construction towards sustainable circular biobased construction. And I am sure I can, and will, be using it for other challenges in my work as well!
It was very nice and helpful to be able to have in-between-meetings with Melissa, Yuma and Jess to steer me in the right direction. Thank you so much for your guidance and knowledge!
It must be the greatest job of the world to be in the Learn Biomimicry Team and guide people from around the world to make their work and designs based on the wealth of knowledge and inspiration nature provides us!

I highly recommend the Biomimicry Practitioner Programme to move your ideas to reality!
Hi, I’m Cheryl Spector, an Architect and Built Environment Ecologist based in Denver, Colorado, USA. My career has always been a journey searching for how to have a positive and regenerative impact between our built environment and our natural environment, including the impact on the health of humans that occupy these built environments.
As a leader in sustainability, I often thought we had found a good process, design, materials, or manufacturing; however, I found that most of these were not working as well as we need. I left “sustainability” and jumped into the practice of biomimicry, where I found the most amazing natural mentors!
Although I got my first certification in biomimicry a decade ago, Learn Biomimicry's Practitioner Program was ideal for me, providing the structure and encouragement to pursue one of my innovative ideas that I had not been able to move forward with until completing this program.
The Learn Biomimicry staff was exceptional in their support and guidance. I’m now moving from the threshold to opening doors for innovative bio-based materials designed to collaborate with the microbiome of our homes, providing healthy interiors for our families.
I highly recommend the Biomimicry Practitioner Programme to move your ideas to reality!

Senior Architect (MSc) | Biomimicry Sustainability Consultant | Interpreter & Translator | Tutor | Alchemist | I help Architectural companies find nature-inspired solutions through Biomimicry
The Learn Biomimicry's Practitioner Programme has helped me to understand how I could apply nature's genius in my work as an Architectural Designer, in a systematic and practical way.
The best thing about biomimicry is knowing that you are applying solutions to your work that can reach 3.8 billion years old.
I would love to be able to apply everything that I learnt in my professional work, either as an Architectural Designer or helping other professionals as a Biomimicry Consultant.
Wish you the best on your journey!
Cheers!

An enriching and personalized journey the program offered an incredibly enriching and deeply personal experience. The mentors (Yuma & Melissa) went far beyond the typical role of a guide, actively stepping in to help me navigate the journey.
Their support was truly hands-on, as they not only encouraged me to explore a different path but also helped me to actively seek out and collaborate with partners. What stood out as well was their willingness to connect me with interesting people in their network, which broadened my perspective in a way I hadn't expected.
Who would have thought I would end up collaborating with one of the most prominent partners in biobased materials in the Netherlands? Challenges and lessons learned While the program's structure was well-designed and the overall flow felt natural, I did face some challenges. managing documentation and locating the right information was difficult at times.
I believe a unified digital environment for all program materials could be a great help in the future. The time commitment was also more demanding than i had anticipated, making it tough to balance with my full-time job.
However, in the end, the time and space provided to bring everything together proved to be sufficient. The most profound insight I gained was the realization of what we, as humans, are capable of when we pause and truly listen to nature. This insight came to me even without a background in biology or scientific research, highlighting the accessibility and power of biomimicry.
Very Thankful to everyone! I am incredibly excited about what the future holds and am definitely open to further opportunities for development within the learn biomimicry network. It was a pleasure getting to know everyone in the rhino cohort group!
