I would recommend Luv Michael because although you might sign up with the expectations of just getting more meaningless volunteer hours at another volunteer place, you might actually leave with your expectations shattered and replaced by a newfound compassion for people with autism. Joining this program has made me more open minded about the struggles people with autism deal with everyday and in turn, making me more willing and passionate about advocating for them in any way I can, and I truly believe you will have the same thought process too, once you join.

As an autistic person myself I often feel alienated from my peers as they don't understand the struggles, what it's like being autistic, or what autism is. I would recommend this program to anyone that wants to make a difference by improving the lives of autistic people. This program I see will definitely help people be more informed of autism. Luv Michael is an amazing nonprofit with a very clear goal and transparent instructions. Aside from the ease of dealing with such an organization, the actual experience of volunteering for them will open your perspectives in multiple new ways about the autism community, especially adults within the community. As autism is becoming mentioned in everyday life but still holds so many unknowns, the more, modern research one can learn will lead them to be able to make educated decisions when it comes to politics surrounding autism or be able to just understand why someone with autism might have different behaviour but they still are equally capable as anyone. Luv Michael's volunteer program allowed me to research with given guided questions and develop more perspective on how people with autism can experience inequalities, especially after they become adults.

It is truly an amazing program that helps families care for those with autism. Before I did this, I barely knew what people with autism even struggled with.
