I'm only 20% of the way through the OmniFocus Field Guide and it has already made my use of this software so much more efficient! David is very clear in his explanations and has broken down the information into bite-sized chunks so that you easily retain the information. Strongly recommend.

The Best Software Investment I Have Made in 30 Plus Years

In less than a week the Robot Assistant Field Guide has fundamentally changed the way I work. The instructions are crystal clear, even for nontechie folks like me, and they work! I now have a fully functioning Assistant that I use three or four times a day. The best software investment I have made in 30 plus years.

David's Framework Gave Me the Confidence and the Structure to Go Deeper

The Robot Assistant Field Guide is the reason I have the bandwidth to take the time to actually write this testimonial right now. I was already using AI regularly, far from a beginner, but I was on the outskirts of what's actually possible.

David's framework gave me the confidence and the structure to go deeper. It helped me hone my own custom robot assistant into something I now run my entire life through: daily planning, business systems, content creation, health tracking, parenting logistics, all of it. The biggest thing is that the value keeps compounding. Every week my system gets smarter because the foundation David taught me is built to evolve.

I'd recommend it to anyone who's already using AI but knows there's another level they haven't hit yet, or who is interested in learning the basics from someone who knows how to break it down in the best and easiest to understand way.

My Experience With the Robot Assistant Field Guide Has Been Transformative!

I frequently find myself excited about a new software or package that offers the promise to make me more productive and streamline work tasks that I regularly do. However, once I begin to explore the product and follow the tutorial, I discover the product is forcing me into ITS mold. While some aspects of my workflow are addressed, in the end the tasks are not streamlined and my productivity is not increased.

My experience with the Robot Assistant Field Guide has been transformative! Initially, I was looking for a better understanding of how AI could be applied beyond a chat window. By lesson six, I decided to automate a workflow I repeatedly use, involving a custom proposal log in Excel and a custom proposal template, also an Excel worksheet. I briefly described the project to the Robot Assistant.

The Assistant asked me questions about the location of the Excel file, how the proposal number was formatted, and what other information was logged on the proposal log. The Assistant then asked me about the proposal template, where the proposal number was to be placed, where the new proposal was to be saved and the format of the new file name. Finally, it asked if there were other things to consider, which there were... I needed the proposal log copied to two other locations. The Assistant went to work. In a short time, it asked a few more clarifying questions and then said it was finished, asking me to check its work. AMAZING! It didn't question the logic of my workflow, tell me to use another method to track proposals, or attempt to alter the proposal template... it just automatically did everything I would do manually with no effort on my part!

I have charged the Assistant to build several other skills that are unique to my situation and require gathering information from different sources, summarizing content, and then outputting the results in a specific format I requested. I am still amazed by the completion of regular tasks, the Assistant has developed and learned, and can finally say my work has been streamlined and I am more productive.

If You're New to Co-Work and Want a Practical Guide That Actually Delivers This Is Your Course.

Since December 2022, I've been deep into AI. ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, you name it. Over the past three months alone, I've used Claude to deliver complex projects in IT, law, and fiscal applications that I simply could not have done on my own. I was not starting from zero. But everything was scattered. Every session started from scratch. Every project lived in isolation. I had powerful tools but no backbone. That's exactly what this course gave me.

David Sparks doesn't just teach you how to use Co-Work. He delivers a system, a real architecture that becomes the foundation for everything you build on top of it. The skills index, the CLAUDE.md structure, and the text expander snippets for instant context. It all clicks together. I now run my system across Mac, Windows, the Claude Code terminal, and Visual Studio Code, all syncing through the same Obsidian vault. The course made that possible. And here's the thing: I've gone far beyond what the course covers. I've built a complex multi-platform setup with dozens of custom skills. But every piece of it still stands on the foundation David designed. If your fundamentals aren't solid, the more complex you build, the worse it gets. My fundamentals are now rock solid.

If you're new to Co-Work and want a practical guide that actually delivers, not fake promises, but something you can implement in your life and see real results, this is your course. If you're an advanced user looking for the missing structure behind all the clever things you're already doing, this is also your course. And the best part? The ten weeks of live cohorts are still ahead. This is just the beginning. Would I buy it again knowing what I know now? Without hesitation. Thanks, David.

Just Scratching the Surface — and It's Exciting

I'm a long-time MacSparky fan. I've listened to Mac power users for over 10 years and have purchased multiple field guides. The first thing that jumped out to me about the robot assistant field guide is how much more professional the videos look. David has come such a long way in making his videos and field guides, and they were great at the beginning!

Like David said in one of his videos, this field guide is different than all of his previous ones. I'm not a programmer, I'm a pastor, and I have no idea how to program, but LLM makes programming your own computer possible for people like me. The basic concept is straightforward, creating simple skill files that you point the LLM at regularly so that it always knows what to do and how. Since my work is very different from David's, it's taking me a little time to brainstorm and figure out how best to use it. But it's coming along.

One surprising thing I've experienced is that it makes reviews fun. I often struggle to do my weekly reviews because it feels like a slog to run through all my projects in my calendar and emails, and I'm just exhausted by the end of the review, not energized. But having Claude take me through my weekly review this morning, having Claude review all that stuff for me, and bring me back a summary made the process feel so much more lightweight and fun!

I feel like I'm just scratching the surface of creating a robot assistant and figuring out everything I can do with it, and it's exciting. The only downside is that I am constantly hitting the limit on my pro-level Claude subscription. I think to really dig into what David is doing in these videos, you need the $100-a-month subscription. That's the only downside.

A Must For Small Business Owners

WOW...WOW...WOW....! That's all l can say about David's latest Robot Assistant FG. I LOVE MacSparky so as a Lab Member l take advantage of the discount and buy nearly every FG thats released. I didn't think this one would have such a great impact on my life. 1 week down and l almost have the perfect Robot Assistant. So far he has relieved so many tedious tasks and it's only the limit on how many hours a day l can stay awake that is stopping me from implementing ALL the tasks l have for my Robot Assistant. I am looking forward to the Live Workshops, although l can see that more ideas will lead to more sleepless nights with my AI friend! This FG is a must for anyone....especially Solopreneurs or Small Business owners who always thought having a PA was out of reach. Thanks so much David for creating this FG. 😊🙏🤖

Practical and Immediately Usable

I've learned a lot from the MacSparky field guides, but the Robot Assistant field guide was the most hands-on experience I've had with any of them. I kept stopping the lessons to immediately dig into what I'd just learned. It's practical, immediately usable, and tells you exactly where to put the guardrails.

Exactly What I Needed: A Clear, Practical Path to Integrating AI Tools Into the Workflows I Already Use

The Robot Assistant Field Guide delivered exactly what I needed: a clear, practical path to integrating AI tools into the workflows I already use. Rather than offering abstract explanations of what these tools can do, it showed me how to use them intentionally and effectively — a distinction that makes all the difference. The content is well-paced, thoughtfully structured, and respects your time at every turn. David Sparks has built one of the most trustworthy names in this space, and this Field Guide is a strong example of why. The production quality is excellent, the instruction is genuinely expert, and the overall experience leaves you better equipped and more confident. I would recommend it without reservation to anyone looking to get more out of AI tools in their daily work.

The Gap Between Asking AI for Help and Having AI Do the Work for You Is Larger Than You Think, and This Course Closes It.

"I came to David Sparks' Robot Assistant series as someone already comfortable using AI for information gathering — asking questions, researching topics, drafting text. But Claude Co-work is a different category entirely. It doesn't just answer questions; it works inside your actual tools and workflows, doing real tasks on your behalf. That distinction took about five minutes of David's instruction to make clear, and it reframed everything. I completed the core course in about a week — evenings, at my own pace — and before I finished I had already built my first custom skill. I'm a senior surgeon with a full schedule and no patience for technology that doesn't deliver. This delivered. I took a church meeting transcript and a report template I already used, and Co-work now automatically places the relevant content from the transcript into the right sections of the template. That's a workflow I'll use every time. I built it by following David's instruction step by step. David's teaching style is the right kind of practical. He's clearly enthusiastic about what Co-work can do — that enthusiasm comes through — but he never lets it get in the way of just showing you how things work. No fluff. No unnecessary detours. He respects your time. The return on a week's investment was a working, repeatable skill tailored to my own life. I'm now looking forward to the supplemental workshops to go further. If you're already using AI and wondering whether Co-work is worth learning — it is. The gap between asking AI for help and having AI do the work for you is larger than you think, and this course closes it."

The Best Course You've Ever Made

This is the best course you've ever done. I knew Claude could do all of the things in the course, but I didn't know how to set it up and put it together. What you teach is how to set up a system for providing memory and consistency with Claude, how to build a skill, and how to further that into workflows. And interfacing into Obsidian with Claude was a game changer for me. Really well done.

I Have LOVED This Field Guide So Much

I have LOVED this field guide so much. I've built several skills already and am simply enjoying using technology again with this fresh perspective. I'm looking forward to the webinar series as well. I signed up for and completed another class on AI in our life and work, but just found it still a little too complex. You made the barrier to entry at the perfect point for me. Just wanted to say thanks.

The AI Robot Doesn’t Just Save Time—It Makes Complex Workflows Simple and Manageable

I wanted to share some feedback on my experience with the AI Robot Field Guide. David talks about donkey work, and it’s fantastic at handling exactly that. But I’ve also found it incredibly useful for other types of structured work in my day-to-day life. A couple of roles I juggle are: Red Cross volunteer for Disaster Cycle Services, and avid overlander who ships my vehicle internationally and explores different countries.

As with David’s other field guides, this one is professionally done, easy to follow, and extremely thorough. Whether you’re a beginner or a power user, there’s value here no matter where you fall on the skill spectrum. What stands out most is how solid the AI Robot framework is. It provides a strong foundation that can grow into a very sophisticated and capable AI assistant.

For example, when I’m wearing my Red Cross volunteer hat, I often have to do a lot of data manipulation to produce reports and graphs for disaster leadership. It’s classic “donkey work.” With the AI Robot, I was able to eliminate that manual effort. Tasks that normally took me an hour and a half are now handled with a simple voice command and completed in seconds. Another example: I’m currently preparing to ship my truck to Australia for an overlanding trip. There are a lot of logistics involved. I used the AI assistant to generate a full list of tasks for me to review, and once approved, it automatically wrote those tasks directly into OmniFocus. The time savings and clarity this creates are huge. The AI Robot doesn’t just save time—it makes complex workflows simple and manageable.

I Went From "This Is Neat" to "This Is How I Operate Now" in the Span of a Few Days

The Robot Assistant Field Guide taught me to stop thinking of AI as a chatbot and start thinking of it as infrastructure. Before the course, I was using Claude for one-off questions. Now I have a system -- skills, templates, connected tools -- that compounds over time. David doesn't just show you the features -- he shows you the thinking. The Field Guides give you a mental model for how to approach the tool, and then the specific techniques snap into place naturally. With the Robot Assistant guide specifically, I appreciated that he spent real time on the skill system, connected tools, and building workflows that persist across sessions. That's the difference between a toy and a tool. I went from "this is neat" to "this is how I operate now" in the span of a few days. Without hesitation. If you're the kind of person who wants to actually use your tools well -- not just know they exist -- the Field Guides are the fastest path I've found. The Robot Assistant Field Guide in particular is worth it if you use Obsidian, DEVONthink, OmniFocus, or any combination of productivity tools and want an AI layer that ties them together.

You can never go wrong with purchasing one of David Sparks' Field Guides. I have gone through the ten lessons of the Robot Assistant Field Guide, and have Claude working for me every day, helping with my genealogy research. I'm looking forward to the upcoming Workshops to learn more ways to use Claude Cowork.

David's Onboarding for Building My Own Robot Assistant Was Flawless

I binge-watched this all in one night and immediately started building my own assistant first thing the next day. I have already found so many uses for this and it is absolutely amazing what it is able to do. Things I never would have thought possible, David explains clearly and easily and his onboarding for my own personal robot assistant was flawless. Thanks so much!

Highly Recommended – I've Already Built My Own Skill

I have been buying field guides since 2019 and now have 12. All of them have helped me to get up to speed quickly. My most recent is the Robot Assistant. Highly recommended. I have already built a skill that allows me to create a daily note in Obsidian formatted just the way I want it. I will be adding to this skill as I get more comfortable with the process.

If You Are Interested in How You Can Make AI Work in Your Life, This Is a Great Place to Start!

The Robot Field Guide came at a great time for me. I am starting to explore AI Agents and specifically Claude Cowork. David's Field Guides always give me great ideas to start from, but they go further, giving great advanced tips and ideas as well. If you are interested in how you can start to make AI work in your life, this is a great place to start!

I Recommend this Field Guide to Anyone Who Wants to Use AI in a Practical Way

Before this Field Guide, I had already been experimenting with AI, but not really with Claude in a structured way. MacSparky’s approach helped me move from just trying things out to actually building useful workflows that now take annoying tasks off my plate and free up time for better work. I really enjoy the way he teaches: clear instructions, practical examples, seeing it done live on the computer, and the very personal, thoughtful follow-up. I would definitely recommend the MacSparky Field Guides to anyone who wants to use AI in a practical and sustainable way.

This Field Guide Is a Must-Buy for Anyone Looking to Leverage the Power of Artificial Intelligence in Their Everyday Work

Anthropic introduced Claude Cowork to the public on January 12. In less than two months, David Sparks has not only mastered the application but also developed his own system for using it effectively and published an entire MacSparky Field Guide on using it as your robot assistant. It never would have occurred to me to use Cowork in conjunction with a project management tool like Obsidian in the way David demonstrates in the video. By doing that, David has made his robot assistant the center of his project management universe, which is incredible. To say that I am blown away by David’s preparation and thoroughness in preparing this Field Guide would be an understatement. This Field Guide is a must-buy for anyone looking to leverage the power of artificial intelligence in their everyday work beyond coding. I cannot recommend it enough. And the little robot assistant character is extremely cute!

It's Given Me The Tools and Knowledge To Be More Productive

I have used Foundational LLMs for some time for  many tasks. However, getting LLMs to perform these tasks to my specific requirements has been challenging due to their need for highly structured instructions. The Robot Assistant Field Guide has been amazing because it has given me the tools and knowledge to use LLMs properly to make me more productive. I highly recommend the Robot Assistant Field Guide.

My Favorite Field Guide So Far

This is my favorite field guide so far and a great introduction to this incredible new paradigm of personal computing. I am recently retired, but find myself wondering how much more effective I could have been with a Robot Assistant. It's almost (but not quite) enough to "unretire"! I have made skills for travel planning and household budgeting and have a number of others I want to try.

MacSparky Made AI Practical for Non-Developers, and I Haven't Stopped Building Since

The first thing I built was a productivity coach skill, and here's the twist: it's powered by your Productivity Field Guide. The robot walks me through weekly (and soon also monthly, and quarterly reviews). It also compares and can generate reports. It can make a dashboard output. Keeps me on point.

From there, things snowballed and I'm not nearly finished yet with experimenting. I've built skills for preparing standardized emails, translating between Dutch and English, generating structured meeting reports, and even an assistant for my financial services practice. The Robot Assistant Field Guide gave me the framework to make all of that happen — the skill structure, the index system, the iterative build process. It's like LEGO for AI workflows. What surprised me most is how much I genuinely enjoy the process of building these things. It doesn't feel like work.

Would I recommend the Field Guides? Without hesitation. The Obsidian field guide is also great, and without a doubt, the productivity field guide is a life changer, certainly in combination with the Robot Assistant field guide. You've made AI practical for people who aren't developers, and that's no small thing. Keep up the good work David!

No Coding Required: MacSparky Makes Custom AI Assistants Accessible for Real-World Professionals

As a freelance IT consultant (but not a professional coder), I've watched with interest as colleagues have adopted AI services such as Claude Code to help with their workflows. When Anthropic recently launched Claude Cowork, I was further intrigued by how I could better leverage this tool to help me be more effective as a one-person operation, but figuring out details such as MCP and Claude "skills" felt daunting while trying to also meet my client work obligations.

David Spark's "Robot Assistant" course has come along at just the right time. By walking through how to set up an intelligent "assistant" that can interact with other current tools, such as task management and calendars, he provides a structured path for getting the most out of a customized AI assistant to help with all the "donkey work" which will then let us focus our mental energy on the work that truly creates value for our clients. I no longer have to figure all this out myself; I have a knowledgeable guide to help me create my own customized "Robot Assistant." Klaus M. IT Architect & Consulting.

Another Winner from David Sparks: A Step-by-Step Path to Automating Your Digital Life

I highly recommend the MacSparky Robot Assistant Field Guide, if you want to safely automate routine tasks on your home computer. I have purchased many of David's Field Guides and they all lead you from no knowledge to the state of being comfortable with experimenting and growing on your own.

David explains the concepts and walks you through the steps to implement the concept. It is easy to follow along with the video using the referenced apps on your computer. The bite size videos allow you to learn and play at your own pace. I am up to video 6 and see exactly where this is headed. I look forward to completing the course and using my robot assistant to automate my life.

I'm Thrilled – Already Built My First Unique Skill

I’m thrilled with the Robot Assistant Field Guide. David’s explanations and pacing make the learning easy. Claude Cowork and Obsidian are new to me. But by video four, I’ve already built my first skill — and it addresses a major pain point. It takes a raw voice-memo transcript and extracts structured content: studio reflections, ideas, contacts, and next steps. Ready to work from.

The Perfect Entry Point To Do Real Work With AI

We are at a point where AI and the AI tools available are changing daily (even hourly). David does a great job breaking down the complexities of AI into an easy to understand concepts and examples that is digestible no matter if you have been using AI for a few years or very new and looking to get started. This field guide is the perfect entry point if you want to start doing REAL things with AI other than funny pictures or searching the web.

This Has Transformed My Use of AI

I am in danger of being considered hyperbolic in my praise for this course. It has been transformational! I considered myself a competent use of AI, however, the processes, structures, and tools I was introduced to in this course have completely changed the way I interact with AI, the way I work, and the speed at which I achieve results. As a professional educator I have nothing but the highest praise for the teaching methodologies David uses, for the structure he applies to their delivery, and the support tools he provides to enable learning to take place. I highly recommend this course to anyone. This is the way to fully understand why everyone is using the word "transformational" with regard to the productivity changes being brought about by AGI, and to update your working practices to the coming age.

Helped Me Build The Best Personal Assistant I Ever Had!

I bought into the MacSparky Field Guides from day one and they have all been excellent in their presentation and detail. The Robot Assistant is no different. I started working with Cowork possibly three or four weeks ago but one of the frustrations was that it didn't seem to remember what I was working on the day before. In the very first video David spends time talking about what's under the hood of Claude. Once you get that and the fact that you can easily build deep memory files that Claude refers to every time it opens up on a task, means that suddenly you have the best PA you ever had in the world! I couldn't recommend the field guides highly enough. They're superb pieces of work and what's more David continues to update on an ongoing basis so once you've invested you're in for life!

I Built My Own Personal Assistant That Works for Me

I’ve been using artificial intelligence for about three years now, and I thought I already had a solid understanding of it. However, the ideas David presents truly take things to another level.

I was especially drawn to the concept of building my own personal assistant. In just a few days, I was able not only to create that assistant but also to assemble a small library of skills that I can activate whenever I need them. What I particularly appreciated is how clearly the underlying principles are explained. At first, I was hesitant about the use of Obsidian, since I already rely on Craft for my note-taking. But I quickly realized that Obsidian is not the cornerstone of the system—it simply serves as a convenient Markdown editor. Thank you, David. Thank you for taking the time to explain these ideas in a clear and thoughtful way, without the usual hype and noise that so often surrounds AI “gurus.”

The Robot Assistant FG Helps Me Do The Work That Matters

The Robot Assistant Field Guide is fantastic! Seeing some of David's podcasting skills gave me an idea of the potential and the step by step lessons followed by the assembler for implementation meant that I had positive feedback at each stage. I've already seen great results in my own work, and can confidently say that my robot assistant is not only giving me more time, but also giving me more mental energy and capacity to do the work that really matters.

David Gives You What You Need to Make Claude Cowork Do Your Donkey Work

My Donkey Work has been reduced! This is an excellent course, as usual. I've done the majority of the Field Guides and David puts out excellent work.

I learned how to control and guide Claude Cowork to my advantage. This knowledge is not intuative using Cowork and David gives you the guidance and understanding you need to make Claude Cowork do your Donkey Work. I made several Skills, the most important one to me right now is, I can drop CCW a YouTube link and it will ask me if I want a summary or the summary and complete transcript, and puts it into my Obsidian Vault. I have way too many Youtube videos that I like to keep up with but can't always watch them all. Being able to have a summary is a very nice feature.

I am hoping for many more connectors in Claude, I'm unable to get a good daily briefing because my calendars and Todo apps have no connectors as of now. Using the Claude.md files within a desktop folder to sort and name files was magical as well. This is probably the best part for me, giving Claude Cowork a file to read. Now, it has memory and instructions. This saves bags of time! I'm a huge supporter of Davids and enjoy all of his content. The Field Guides are outstanding! Take the time to go through a course and it will save you loads of time later with your new found knowledge.

What I've Been Waiting for To Use AI Productively

The Robot Field Guide is what I've been waiting for to get started with using AI on my Mac productively. No more dithering about which model to use and how to get started - the RFG has it all, step by step Like every other Field Guide (and I've used almost all of them), the RFG is well produced and easy to follow. Highly recommended.

Love, Love Your Field Guides

Love, love your field guides. I have most of them. I had doubts about APS, but I have become a convert and have moved 100% to Apple apps since taking your course. Turns out the friction I felt was because I didn't understand how to use them effectively. Also, I like the limitations the apps put on me. It's like the Aldi grocery store chain here in Chicago. I love shopping there because its limited choices relieves mental fatigue.

I Was Not Sure I Could Learn Anything ... Boy Was I Wrong!

I am a long time Mac user and have been using all the apps you talk about in this guide for sometime (Notes, Reminders, etc). And I am pretty good at using apps efficiently, or so I thought. I almost did not purchase the field guide because I just was not sure I could learn anything. Boy was I wrong.! I thank you for leading me to some features and processes with these apps that are now even more helpful in the little things I need to do. I am a Simi-retired sales representative and no longer need the complicated apps I have used in the past. I love the KISS method in my world nowadays and you and Apple have certainly helped make things more simple in the business and in my personal world. Thank you for that!

Notes Changed Everything

Honestly didn't expect the Notes section to change my workflow this much. I'm a longtime Obsidian user but now I'm running both—Notes for quick capture and daily work, Obsidian for long-term thinking. The Field Guide showed me they're not competitors, they're teammates.

A Clear, Detailed Guide–a Must-Have

The MacSparky Apple Productivity Suite Field Guide is a must-have for anyone with Apple devices. Most of us know the basics of the various productivity apps, such as Notes, Calendar, and Reminders. This field guide shows you how to make user of features that are not obvious. David's field guides are very detailed and are delivered in a way that is easily followed. Absolutely worth it.

Useful for Beginners and Experienced

For many years, I’ve been what friends and colleagues would call a “power user,” relying on tools like OmniFocus, Fantastical, and DEVONthink. Now, as I near the end of my working career, I’m looking to simplify my productivity system and go all in—or at least as much as possible—on Apple’s built-in suite of tools. Having not used these apps for decades, I needed to get up to speed on Calendar, Reminders, Notes, and Freeform, so I purchased MacSparky’s Field Guide. I’ve used his previous guides and know he invests significant time and energy into producing high-quality training, so I expected no less from this one. True to form, it has been an enlightening journey through Apple’s improvements, with clear explanations of how David himself uses or recommends incorporating each app into a smooth, functional workflow. I’m already well on my way to downshifting to Apple’s free—but surprisingly powerful—apps, while cutting back on subscription costs (in fact, just canceling those will more than cover the cost of the Field Guide). I’ve long been a fan of David’s work. He has an uncanny ability to explain apps and systems in a way beginners can understand, while also providing insights and tips that even experienced users will find valuable. His conversational style and quiet confidence make each video feel like advice from a trusted friend. He focuses not only on the “how-to,” but also the “why-to,” drawing on his own personal experiences to illustrate practical use. If you haven’t tried Apple’s built-in productivity apps lately, David shows how far they’ve come—now capable of meeting the needs of a wide range of users, from beginner to intermediate. He’s also honest about where they fall short compared to third-party apps, helping you make informed choices about your own workflow. I recommend this Field Guide for anyone who, like me, no longer needs the complexity of more expensive apps, or simply wants to discover Apple’s newer features and how they can improve daily productivity. For me, it has been a very worthwhile investment.

Every Lesson Is Like Sitting Down With a Helpful Friend

David’s Field Guides helped me go from just using my Mac and iPad to mastering them. The guides don’t just show you what buttons to click—they teach you how to think about automation, organization, and creativity. My favorite thing is how David teaches with such warmth. Every lesson feels like sitting down with a friend who’s showing you something genuinely useful. The videos are beautifully produced, and the mix of walkthroughs, real-world examples, and bonus materials makes it easy to learn at your own pace. David’s Field Guides are the rare kind of resource that actually changes how you work. They’re packed with practical knowledge but never overwhelming, and they reflect his years of real experience. Whether you’re a professional trying to be more efficient or just someone who wants to get more joy out of their tech, these guides are worth every penny. I've purchased most of David's Field Guides and the latest, "Apple Productivity Suite" has already taught me that I was missing out on many elements of these so called "basic" apps. I was not a user at all of "Reminders", but after watching the Field Guide, I'm now a power user of Reminders! Use the stuff that you have and maybe even save some money by cancelling some monthly fees on apps you really don't need. Cheers!

Blow Away By How Much I Am Learning!

I bought the Apple Productivity Suite Field Guide yesterday and am, as always, blown away by how much I am learning from a MacSparky Field Guide. My first one was purchased with an Apple gift card from my brother when all I had was an iPod (Paperless, and I'm pretty sure that one was back when the Field Guides were apps). I think I have since bought most of them. The main standout at this point in the Apple Productivity Suite Field Guide is the section on Freeform, an app which I had previously written off as pointless so immediately deleted it from every device. I get it now. Incredibly useful app that I can't wait to learn more about and find a way to use! I honestly wouldn't be where I am without the MacSparky Field Guides. This is not hyperbole; I am organized, productive (don't get me started on the Productivity Field Guides-life changing-see photo and know that my long term dream of motorcycle touring went from no bike to the best summer of my life because of them) and among my peers, seen as a bit of a tech wizard, all thanks to David and his Field Guides!

It Only Took One Video Moment to Justify the Cost

It only took 1 tip about the Apple Calendar app from this guide, to make me stop and reconsider how I was using the built in Apple apps. As a retired worker, I am now working to simplify my life, and David always leads the way in reducing the stress through his Field Guides. Being productive in retirement still requires using my calendar, notes and reminder apps daily. David's Field Guides have always been a great way to learn, and relearn the material at my own pace. I highly recommend the Apple Productivity Suite Field Guide for understanding how you can modify, and use the tools Apple have built into the operating system. It only took one video moment for me to justify the cost (it has to do with using the terminal to reset the visible days in the week view). Thanks David, another happy customer!

I have been using Alfred since version two and thought I knew a lot about using it. Having gone through the course I was amazed a how little I knew about Alfred. The Alfred Field Guide is one of the best Field Guides that MacSparky has ever created. The concise videos explain quickly and simply how to add or use a particular feature. Even if you have used Alfred for a while, I guarantee there will still be plenty in this Alfred tour de force that you will learn from.

Launcher Loyalty: How the Alfred Field Guide Brought Me Home

I've been using Alfred for years, just as a launcher. I've only worked my way through the first few sections of the Alfred Field Guide, but I have learned quite a bit already. I'll confess that I switched to Raycast a few years ago, because I thought Alfred couldn't compare, but the Alfred Field Guide was so well done, that I've switched back to Alfred as my primary launcher. (I still have Raycast as a secondary launcher, but I only use it now for my window management needs.) I look forward to moving through all of the lessons, especially when it comes to making workflows.

I have been a user of Alfred for years and it is my app launcher. I also have some custom workflows that I use but I never took the time to learn the basics so the Alfred Field Guide was an eye-opener for me and I love it. I am a power user now.

Another great field guide. It only took me a few days to complete the course and at the same time installed everything. Alfred is the tool I use mostly now. For anyone who wants to quickly learn everything to be productive, this field guide is great.

From Beginner to Keyboard Ninja

Five Stars - In his normal low key and easy to follow manner introduces not tech types into yet another exceptionally helpful Apple centric app. With his clear instructions and a little effort, Alfred can help you imprint valuable information into your fingers to help you save time and energy for the duration of your using a keyboard. As always LOTS of great advice delivered in an easy to use advice from a master of technology.

MacSparky Unlocked Alfred for Me

The course is superb. I’ve used Alfred as an app launcher for a few years now, but never more. I guessed, correctly, that MacSparky wase going to open my eyes. And he really did.

A Game-Changer for Experienced Alfred Users

Even though I’ve been using Alfred for the last several years, your training content was spot on! I will absolutely get significantly more value from Alfred because of the new field guide. –Rod L.

Finally Unlocking Alfred, Thanks to MacSparky

I’ve used a good number of the MacSparky Field Guides, and the most recent one I completed—on the Alfred application—was truly exceptional. I had tried Alfred before but found it more complex to set up than I wanted to deal with at the time. Thanks to David’s crystal-clear explanations, I was finally able to unlock its potential. This guide didn’t just teach me how to use Alfred—it led me down a productive path of expanding its capabilities with additional workflows and companion applications. I don’t think I’ve ever gone through all the videos in a field guide this quickly. It wasn’t due to a lack of content; rather, the material was so engaging and well-presented that it made me want to keep going. It will absolutely be an important addition to my daily workflow. Next, I plan to revisit and complete a few other MacSparky Field Guides I started in the past. They cover tools I’ve used for years but know I can use more effectively. I’m confident that, just like with Alfred, I’ll discover valuable tips and workflows that will enhance how I work. I also intend to revisit parts of the Alfred guide itself to deepen my understanding and make the most of its powerful features.

Learning Alfred: Simpler Than You Think!

What I learned ? I learned even I can learn how to use Alfred! The learning experience is simple to follow, which is not easy for the instructor to produce UNLESS he has a total understanding of the app. Clearly, David Sparks knows all about Alfred. I highly recommend both Alfred the program and David Sparks the instructor. The combination is terrific for learning how to incorporate Alfred into multiplying your prowess with your normal keyboard routines.

MacSparky Guides: My Go-To for Apple Mastery

Once again I've learned a lot from this MacSparky Field Guide. In this case it's the Guide to Alfred, but the same applies to all of the others produced by MacSparky. Designed and built in bite-sized pieces, I would recommend all of these guides to anyone wanting to have a measured and expert guide to key Apple software and wider techniques.

I estimate my Alfred usage was about 2%. Your Alfred FG is like drinking a health food smoothie through a fire hose—so much goodness. It's worth every penny and more.

Worth It in the First 15 Minutes

I've been using Alfred for many years and bought this Field Guide thinking I might pick up a trick or two deep in there someplace. Not so. In the first 15 minutes I learned so much that it was worth the price of admission.

Alfred’s Been There All Along—Now I Finally Get It

Who knew? certainly not me. but certainly MacSparky knew. I installed Alfred within days of shifting from a PC to a Mac so it's been with me all my Mac life but I've never realised how powerful it really is and how much you can do with it. I've learned previously about shortcuts and keyboard maestro from David. And it feels like this completes the circle.

I Thought I Knew Alfred—Then I Watched This

I was really on the fence about buying this Field Guide. I would have said I was an "Alfred Power User." I've been using Alfred for over 10 years, back to version 1.3.2. I don't have a huge number of workflows, but they are all self-written to accomplish something I needed or wanted. [Details available on request :) .] Still, I was intrigued by the interviews with other Alfred users and the Alfred development team, and so I made an impulse buy. Because I bought in early, not everything is yet available. However, the Section 2, which covers all of the Alfred settings and options, was ready and I figured I would watch one or two of the videos before bed. One video in, I was thinking "How did I not know that?" Three videos, and I had the Alfred settings open so that I could make changes as I watched. Five videos, and it was clear that this Field Guide should be watched by everyone using Alfred. David has found every little trick, tip, and feature in Alfred, and presents all of them with his trademark clarity and style, making it easy to learn and adopt teach feature and figure out if/how it would work for you. If you are an Alfred user (or want to buy), you absolutely should buy this Field Guide!

I Thought I Knew Alfred—Then Came the Headslaps

Ok. I jumped on the Alfred Field Guide because I wanted to learn more about creating workflows. I've been using Alfred for several years and it's my replacement for Spotlight, so I felt pretty confident that I knew Alfred's capabilities. Boy, was I wrong! Within about a minute of starting MacSparky's first video, I had my first headslap moment. Then another...and another with every video. By the time I finished the first five videos I think I racked up about 10 new or better ways to use the app. Duh! I'm really glad I purchased this - there are so many great suggestions for improving productivity with this app. I followed along with my own copy of Alfred, customizing settings to do things that I didn't realize Alfred could do. Thanks, David! Another great Field Guide.

Saved me money.

I'm now using the snippets option of Alfred as a TextExpander replacement for my workflows. Having recently retired, my need for using TextExpander's abilities have greatly reduced; and David's reminder of how snippets are a built in part of Alfred, and their ease of use has more than paid for the cost of this Field Guide!

I Finally Learned What Alfred Can Really Do

I have been a long-term Alfred with the Power Pack option user, but, embarrassingly, I used it only for launching apps, calculations, and system commands like quitall, forcequit, and restart…. I knew it could do a lot more, but I never focused and learned how to leverage it. My takeaway from the Alfred Field Guide is that I can get a lot of this done right from "CMD Space" from Alfred.
