As a medical device regulatory affairs consultant, I have worked with a number of device R&D teams, both in-house and contract. Archimedic is one of the best. Archimedic helped my team in the development of a new nailing system for the fibula as well as a novel trauma plating system for use around the knee. We needed to add resources that knew how to design in the orthopedic space as well as work with remote team mates. They were able to bring resources online quickly as our needs increased or ratchet them back when warranted. The Archimedic team took on the complete instrument development work while my team did the implants; their coordination of mating parts was seamless and the first prototypes fit together perfectly! They also handled all project management for their team so it relieved me of that responsibility. As a first-time inventor and company founder without any engineering or medical background, I was initially overwhelmed about the medical device development process. Archimedic helped clarify this process, created a compelling vision for the Orvac™, and developed a comprehensive plan for achieving my longer-term business milestones. The Medtech Canvas approach to put a straw man strategy to paper advocated by Archimedic I think is excellent. I have had the privilege, and experience, of being involved in initial strategy development and "pressure tests" using the models of my past employers (Smith+Nephew, Synthes, J&J, Natus) and in my start up world experience for potential inventors. I also had insight to those departmental approaches shaped by alumni from Medtronic, Stryker and Boston Scientific. So I have seen man "sketch" approaches. Some are also good, others a bit overdone. But I must share this Medtech Canvas approach that Arichmedic shares is a good synopsis, and "in the mirror reflection", to help inform go/no go/or consider gaps in decisions. Bravo Eric & team. Encourage especially early stage developers to take these informative and succinct courses. 

Working with Archimedic through the Pennsylvania Pediatric Medical Device Consortium has been an awesome experience. As faculty at Drexel BIOMED, this is my first foray into device design. Eric helped us translate our unique concept and successes into a compelling narrative and monetiation strategy. He takes time to explain unfamiliar terminology and nuance from the business and regulatory side, working toward a mutual understanding of how to best move forward. We just completed a project with Archimedic to develop new concepts for an ankle robot for therapy for children with cerebral palsy.
