Rewriting the Code has been a huge part of my journey as a woman in tech. Being part of this community gave me access to not only professional resources but also a strong, supportive network of women who genuinely understand the challenges we face in the industry. It’s empowering to connect with others who share similar goals and experiences, and it’s helped me grow in confidence, skills, and self-advocacy. For any woman in tech, being part of a community like RTC can be incredibly valuable as you gain mentorship, learning opportunities, and a sense of belonging that’s hard to find elsewhere. Success, for me, means making a positive impact, whether it’s through building meaningful projects, helping others break into tech, or just showing up authentically in spaces where representation matters. I want to keep growing, support others along the way, and contribute to a more inclusive and diverse tech industry.

The support of this fund will greatly contribute to my ability to continue my internship at ESA, as well as the support I will now have in attending networking events. I am also able to acquire the necessary resources to ensure I can graduate from my course. Overall, this has also lowered the weight I had over me during this time, and now I will be able to continue pursuing my heart's desire in this field without the financial worry. My perspective changed due to the urgency, it made me realise technology, especially concerning space, is much more important to me than I thought. All the work I've put in since 16 could've been lost all because I don't have the financial support I needed. It made me realise how impactful this has been all my life, and now, how important to represent an already underrepresented group, especially in the field of aerospace. I see myself contributing to the tech community, specifically the aerospace/aviation/space technology sector, as a young, emboldened black woman. It's been very challenging to operate in this field as someone who is very different from the counterparts, I share this space with. I want to use myself and to normalise seeing black women in the field of space and show them you can explore any part of this with your skills and grit. I aspire to participate in as many activities as I can, including outreach work, as I hope for a future where people aren't surprised by a black woman working in the space industry

Rewriting the Code has been a great support system in my journey as a woman in tech. A few days before my exams and summative assessment, my personal laptop broke down. I was devastated, especially with my final project equivalent to a dissertation just around the corner. One of our RTC leaders encouraged me to apply for the Tech Fund, and I was fortunate to receive the cash support that enabled me to get a new laptop. That gesture meant more than words can express. Today, I’m using that laptop to complete my final project, and I carry with me a renewed sense of purpose. Beyond this support, RTC has been a source of constant inspiration. Being part of a community filled with brilliant, and supportive women navigating the tech space makes all the difference. It feels like a family, one that helps you grow, encourages you to dream bigger, and walks with you every step of the way. For me, success is about using technology to innovate healthcare solutions that improve lives. It’s about achieving my dreams and being a source of hope and inspiration to others. Thank you, RTC, for being such an integral part of my journey. I am truly grateful and feel incredibly blessed to be part of this community

I’m incredibly grateful to the Rewriting the Code community for the role it’s played in my journey as a woman in tech. As an international student and girl in STEM, breaking into the industry can feel overwhelming—but RTC made it feel possible. Thanks to the free LinkedIn Premium access through RTC, I was able to connect with professionals, land interviews, and build relationships that truly mattered. The mentor-led resume review gave me the confidence and polish I needed to stand out in a competitive space. And the most life-changing moment? Finding a featured opportunity in the RTC portal that led me to my summer internship at GSK. That one opportunity has opened so many doors and means the world to me—not just as a student, but as someone chasing big dreams in a new country. More than anything, RTC has shown me the power of community. I’ve found support, inspiration, and a network of women who cheer each other on every step of the way. I’m beyond excited for what’s ahead—and I wouldn’t be here without this amazing community. Thank you, RTC! 💜

I just wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank RTC for giving me the incredible opportunity to attend NSBE through the RTC scholarship. I am beyond grateful for the experience. It was truly transformative. At the conference, I gained so much insight into Master’s and PhD programs, which has expanded my perspective on future academic paths. I also had the chance to connect with recruiters and industry professionals, which was invaluable for my career growth. These conversations have given me greater confidence and clarity in my journey. This experience wouldn’t have been possible without your support, and I genuinely appreciate all that you do to uplift and invest in students like me. Thank you again for believing in me and for making this opportunity a reality!

The RTC Woman in Tech fund has allowed me to continue with my studies with less financial pressure. Coming from a low income household, and being a commuter student, means a lot of my time was preoccupied with working. The RTC WIT fund has also made me hopeful for the future of technology- encouraging the underrepresented in this space is critical and I hope to be able to give back once I’m in the industry full-time. I spend my extra time aiding women in tech by reviewing applications, LinkedIn profiles, and CVs- which helps them get a foot in the door! With today’s brutal tech market, we need all the community and support we can get.

As a woman in tech, there can sometimes be a struggle to adequately fit in. For me, certain hurdles felt insurmountable. However, joining the Rewriting the Code (RTC) community changed a lot for me. Rewriting the Code has been more than just a support network. It’s been a place where I’ve found the courage to push and embrace my unique perspective as a woman in tech. The community has given me access to a network of like-minded women who share similar challenges and victories. From members offering advice to RTC professionals guiding career development, I find the support I need to take my passion for technology to the next level. Through RTC, I was also able to apply for the Women in Tech Fund, which I was honoured to win! It's a reminder that when women come together, we create opportunities that would otherwise seem impossible. The grant has enabled me to work toward my vision of blending technology with business, empowering me to build tools that tackle real-world challenges. What do women in tech gain from being part of a community like RTC? The answer is clear: support, confidence, and a sense of belonging. Being surrounded by women who understand the hurdles we face creates a foundation where we can thrive. It's about finding your voice, advocating for yourself, and realizing that success is not defined by traditional standards—it’s about shaping your path and making an impact, regardless. At times, we tend to think success is just about professional milestones. Well, it could be more in RTC; it’s about creating opportunities for other women to see themselves in tech and helping to redefine what success looks like for women in this industry. Success is feeling empowered to pursue your passion, knowing that there’s a whole community of women cheering you on every step of the way. To any woman who feels uncertain or out of place in tech: you belong here. There’s a space for your talents, your ideas, and your vision. Guess what we need to do: We need to continue to rewrite the code, together! Nnenna.

I have faced many challenges on my journey towards a career in tech. From navigating career insight opportunities hosted by employers in different cities to managing high living costs due to rising rent prices, I initially believed these factors would significantly hinder my ability to gain invaluable experiences essential for building a successful career in the field. However, the RTC Women in Tech fund has enabled me to allocate resources towards expanding my experiences, allowing me to attend events without financial constraints acting as a barrier. Additionally, the reduced burden of rent has allowed me to live more comfortably and focus on my professional development. Now, I truly believe that I can pursue a career in tech despite my financial circumstances, and I have gained the confidence to do so. I aspire to be a pioneer for change. As a female Chemistry student, I hope that the opportunities I have been given will inspire other young women to explore STEM and develop a passion for all aspects of this field. I enjoy learning new programming languages and have found a strong interest in data analysis, which stems from my Chemistry background. These are passions I hope to share with others, empowering them to pursue careers in tech. I am eager to be an active voice in this movement and see a bright future ahead.

I joined RTC in 2018 as an undergrad student with no work experience in tech and coming from a first-generation college student and low-income background. RTC and the community has been instrumental in my early career journey — both of my full-time jobs came through partner companies I connected with here, and I’ve had the opportunity of meeting and learning from many successful women in tech. The resources offered, from events and panels to career exploration sessions, have shaped my path. I learned skills like recruiting, interviewing, negotiating, and self-advocacy that not only helped me to land my first promotion but also feel empowered in a challenging industry. Today, I’m actively involved in the early careers group, attending mentoring events where I help younger students and continue to grow alongside them. RTC has been an invaluable experience!

Joined the RTC community this summer! It's a wonderful community with amazing moderators. So far, thanks to the community, I have participated in my first ever hackathon and had my first ever virtual coffee chat with a product manager (thanks to the mentor database)! I've grown so much with this community, and seen so many people grow, and I hope it continues to grow and gain new amazing members! I hope one day, we'll have a RTC Canada thread!

Rewriting the Code (RTC) has been an invaluable part of my journey in tech, especially as someone who felt out of place coming from a family of immigrants and navigating college and career paths without much guidance. Before RTC, I struggled with knowing where to start in the field of computer science and missed out on opportunities simply because I didn’t have access to the right information. However, RTC provided a community that not only offered resources and advice but also created a supportive environment where I never felt hesitant to ask for help. This is why I believe that other women in computing should participate in communities like RTC. The tech industry is fast-paced and often oversaturated, and having the right timing and knowledge about opportunities can make a huge difference. Communities like RTC are critical in bridging the gap for those who may not have had early exposure to programs, internships, or career advice. For example, I didn’t even know about the various programs that companies offer to freshmen and sophomores until after I had already missed many of those opportunities. Being part of RTC has helped me stay informed about these kinds of programs, which would have been incredibly useful early in my journey. For me, success in my career is not just about achieving personal milestones, but also about finding fulfillment in my role while giving back to the community that has supported me along the way. It’s important to me to be able to uplift others, especially those who may be in the same position I once was—unsure of where to start but determined to succeed.

RTC has helped me make my startup idea possible by connecting me with talented women in tech! I’ve discovered so many new resources and met a lot of passionate and smart women from across the world 🌎

Rewriting the Code (RTC) has definitely shaped my journey in tech in so many ways. Attending the RTC career summit was a huge help, and because of it, I now have an interview scheduled. What I love most is being part of a supportive community where everyone is working hard toward similar goals. I’ve connected with others who will also be attending the Grace Hopper Conference and AfroTech, and it’s great knowing we’ll hang out, network, and support each other along the way. I’d encourage other women to join communities like RTC because there are so many benefits. Sometimes, being an RTC member alone opens doors, like recruiters expediting the process for members. It’s incredibly motivating and reminds me to keep pushing forward. They also gave out free LinkedIn premium and perks like these make a real difference in growing my career. To me, success looks like making meaningful connections, continuously growing in my skills, and being able to make an impact in the tech world. Personally, it's about building a balanced life where I can thrive in both my career and personal development. It would also mean getting my dream tech job in a top company and I believe RTC is preparing me in that direction.

As a student passionate about technology, I’ve always been eager to find spaces that not only support learning but also foster collaboration. When I discovered RTC, it felt like the perfect place to grow. The opportunity to work alongside a diverse community of women in technology has been inspiring. What stands out most about RTC is its commitment to professional development—whether through networking, mentorship, or the open exchange of ideas. This aligns seamlessly with my own career aspirations. Being able to engage with industry leaders and peers has already started shaping my technical skills, and it’s exciting to see how much my perspective on emerging trends and innovations in the tech field has broadened through these connections. I’m confident that my journey with RTC will continue to be a pivotal part of my growth. Thank you for the opportunity

Rewriting the Code has empowered me by connecting me with a community of driven women in tech, offering mentorship, and providing access to valuable resources. It has helped me gain confidence, develop technical and leadership skills, and navigate opportunities in software engineering and fintech. I believe other women in computing should join communities like Rewriting the Code because they provide support, networking, and the chance to learn from others' experiences, all of which are crucial in a male-dominated industry. Success to me means continuously growing, achieving personal goals, and contributing to spaces that uplift underrepresented voices in tech.

Rewriting the Code has been instrumental in empowering me throughout my tech journey by providing access to a supportive community of like-minded women, mentors, and industry professionals. Through RTC, I have been exposed to career-building opportunities like internships, networking events, and skill development workshops.
Women in computing should participate in communities like RTC because they provide critical support systems that are often lacking in traditional educational or workplace settings. Communities like RTC help break down the isolation that many women in tech experience by offering access to a network of peers, mentors, and role models who understand the unique challenges of being a woman in the industry. These communities foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and opportunities for both professional and personal growth. They also create a safe space for women to explore new technologies, ask questions, and receive feedback in a non-judgmental environment, which is essential for building confidence and resilience.
Success in my career means constantly learning and pushing myself to grow, both technically and as a leader. It involves making a tangible impact through the projects I work on and the teams I contribute to, while also fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment. It’s about feeling fulfilled by the work I do, mentoring others along the way, and continuing to expand my skill set while staying true to my values and passions.

Being part of the Rewriting the Code community has been nothing short of transformative in my journey through tech. One of my favorite memories is the picnic we had in Central Park, where we gathered under a light rain, sharing stories and laughter. In that moment, I realized just how strong, inclusive, and safe this community truly is. Despite being in the vastness of New York City, where it's easy to feel like you're navigating everything alone, RTC has always been the place I know I can turn to—a community that has my back. RTC has connected me with so many talented people from all walks of life, opening doors to new experiences and opportunities. The visits to different companies and the conversations with inspiring professionals not only expanded my understanding of the tech world but also made my summer more vibrant and meaningful. RTC transformed my experience in the city, making it feel less daunting and more like a shared adventure.
I believe other women in computing should join communities like RTC because they offer more than just professional growth—they offer a lifeline. In an industry that can often feel isolating, RTC fosters a sense of belonging, reminding us that we are never alone in our journey. It's a place where you can find support, encouragement, and the kind of camaraderie that lifts you up, even on the toughest days.
To me, success isn't just about reaching personal goals. It's about growing in a community that empowers you to be your best self while helping others do the same. It's about building a network of support, knowing that as we rise, we can lift others alongside us. With RTC, I've found that success is not just a destination—it's the journey we share together.

I'm Divya, an international student at Santa Clara University with 9 years of industry experience as a full-stack engineer. I joined RTC in 2024 and its been an amazing journey with the community. The diverse talent pool of women supporting each other to grow and propel in their respective careers is a beautiful retreat. I am grateful to be a part of such a passionate and compassionate group of individuals sharing their stories while carving their journey. RTC has exposed me to numerous available opportunities and a strong community in which I can reach out for help and share advice. I feel empowered knowing women are cutting it through every area of tech and although there is a lot to conquer the chapter has strongly begun with RTC.
I strongly feel women should participate in communities like RTC to explore, assist, network and feel empowered. RTC provides a sense of belonging as youngsters will always find someone struggling through the same challenges and roadblocks they face in the industry. RTC serves as an open forum to help every individual looking to break into the tech or come back to tech. There is something for everyone.
Success to me is a combination of accomplishing quality in work while fostering an environment for collaboration and growth. Climbing the ladder while lending a helping hand to others on the ladder looking to move up.

It’s been a source of inspiration and motivation, offering access to resources, mentorship, and opportunities that have helped me grow both personally and professionally. Being surrounded by a diverse group of women who are breaking barriers in the tech industry has strengthened my confidence and encouraged me to aim higher. I believe other women in computing should participate in communities like Rewriting the Code because it offers unique support systems, mentorship, and opportunities for networking that can be difficult to find elsewhere. They provide a platform for women to lift each other up, share success stories, and advocate for gender equality in the tech industry. It's empowering to be part of a collective effort to challenge the status quo and create more inclusive spaces for women. It means that I will be making impactful work both technically and non-technically. Personally, it also means finding a balance between my professional achievements and nurturing meaningful relationships.

RTC has played a vital role - particularly when I was prepping for my interview with the MTA. I was able to get some pointers from the community about interview cases and was also able to gain a ton of resources for supplemental learning prior to the start of my internship.
Yanka Sikder
Rewriting the Code has provided various opportunities in meeting with others with varying level of skills, interests, and job roles which has opened up my eyes to the world of tech. I have learned so much from being in their slack and felt so empowered when going to RTC events and networking with others and employees. Everyone should participate in RTC if they want to network and meet other women in their field who have similar passions and goals to better understand their goals and be more aware of their career opportunities. This organization will help you grow, be more confident, and make more friends! Success to me looks like achieving the goals I set out for myself, gaining technical and professional skills from the events I attend, and being able to communicate well with others and hold lost-longing relationships with others. Being able to do these 3 things helps my personal growth immensely and helps me become a more mature well rounded person. I am excited for more to come with myself, RTC, and others who are in RTC!

In 2023 I found myself, nearly 3,000 miles away from my entire life back in Philadelphia. I was offered an opportunity I couldn't pass up, a software development internship at Amazon. I was so excited, but I didn't realize how lonely I would find myself. Not only was I the only intern on my team, I was the only woman. The summer began to pass and while I was enjoying my experience, I felt isolated and alone. In July, another Amazon intern invited me to watch the 4th of July fireworks with some other friends she had made. Our group of about 10 girls arrived hours early to get a good view, which left plenty of time to chat. I was shocked that so many female interns from so many different companies had managed to meet in just over a month. This is when I first learned about RTC. Over the rest of my summer, I dove headfirst into RTC events in Seattle and made plans with other amazing interns around the city. From the Aquarium to nature walks to tailgating the Eras Tour, I had a huge community of girls I could call on to explore with me. I still keep in touch with many of the girls I met, even though we are now scattered across the country back at our colleges. Engaging with RTC that summer helped me create a community of girls across the country, and my continued engagement with resources and events has continued to boost my confidence as a woman in CS.

Being a part of RTC has allowed me to meet so many amazing women in technology. I have benefitting greatly from the resources provided as well as the company partnerships RTC has. Furthermore, the career fair + company session allow me to learn about the industry and connect with recruiters at top companies.

Rewriting the Code has been a game-changer for me. It’s not just a community, it’s a network of women who’ve shown me that I’m not alone in navigating the ups and downs of tech. Through mentorship, workshops, and networking, RTC has given me the tools and confidence to push forward when things get tough, especially in environments where I may feel outnumbered. Tech can feel like a solo journey at times, especially as a woman. Communities like Rewriting the Code remind you that there’s power in numbers and shared experiences. It’s not just about skill-building, it’s about finding mentors, peers, and friends who get what you’re going through. For me, success isn’t just about titles or salary—it’s about impact and balance. In my career, I want to build things that genuinely make a difference, whether that’s improving user experiences, solving complex problems, or contributing to projects that have real-world value.
Anushka Jain
Rewriting code has been a powerful tool in my growth as a developer. It’s not just about making my code more efficient, but it’s about learning from my past mistakes and evolving with every iteration. Attending tech sessions, hearing problem solving techniques, and learning from success stories have given me the tools to constantly improve. These experiences have not only sharpened my technical skills but also helped me become better at explaining my thought process, which has been crucial in interview prep and tackling complex problems. Rewriting my code has made me more confident, and it’s given me the mindset that every challenge is an opportunity to grow. Communities like Rewriting the Code offer so much more than just technical knowledge. They provide a sense of belonging, a space where women can share experiences, challenges, and triumphs. From attending sessions to receiving interview tips and mastering coding techniques, these communities are rich with resources and support. Participating in them allows us to learn from one another, build confidence, and feel inspired by success stories. It’s a reminder that we’re not navigating this tech journey alone and that together, we can overcome the barriers that women often face in this field. For me, success is about balance and continual growth. Professionally, it means being able to solve meaningful problems, contribute to innovative projects, and communicate effectively within a team. It’s not just about reaching career milestones, but also about finding fulfillment in the process whether that’s through mastering new techniques, mentoring others, or simply enjoying the creative problem solving that comes with coding. On a personal level, success means maintaining wellbeing and balance, allowing space for personal development alongside my career. If I can keep learning, inspire others, and stay passionate about my work while living a balanced life, that’s true success to me.

Joining rewriting the code last summer was one of the best decisions I made during my internship. In a city that I didn’t know anybody I was able to connect with several groups of young women who were in the same position as me with similar career goals and aspirations. I was able to go to several recruiting events in the city as well, which allowed me to connect with several recruiters on a more personal level, which was very helpful to my job search! Never had I thought that a recruiter would be able to recognize my face at a career fair until I had attended one of these events and saw a recruiter that I had met earlier, had a career fair with my school, and she recognized me almost immediately. I love the community that RTC has brought to me and allowed me to thrive in. I am grateful for all of the help and advice that I have received through job fairs and Slack and I wouldn’t be where I am now without RTC!!

I was so nervous going into the RTC Virtual Career Summit. I'm fairly new to job fairs like this, especially virtually, and the companies that were slated to attend were world-renowned FAANG companies. But it was through community interactions via the live chat that I grounded myself. In the chat were women and gender minorities of all backgrounds sharing their journeys into tech, as well as positive affirmations and general sentiments of camaraderie. I felt seen and uplifted, so much so that my nerves dispelled and I was able to really enjoy the opportunity that was RTC's Virtual Career Summit. Thank you RTC!

In my first year at college, mentorship has been crucial in my personal growth and career development. At my first RTC career fair, I met with TwoSigma recruiters and learned about their first year program, applied, and advanced past multiple rounds to reach the final technical interview round. This was my first technical interview, and I had low self-esteem, thinking I wouldn't be able to solve a single problem. Not only did I solve both problems, I also passed most test cases - surprising myself with my abilities. Although I didn't end up at this internship, I approached challenges later on with a newfound drive, with the perseverance to push through even when I felt like I didn't know enough. Empowered by RTC's mentorship network, I pursued my interest in AI, becoming the only female AI workshops officer in ACM AI, teaching 100+ students at UCLA workshops and 60+ female students at GALA, LA's girls only STEM magnet school. I joined Breakthrough Tech AI, a ML summer course and fall project program for underrepresented groups, and I found this opportunity through RTC. Attending my 2nd RTC fair connected me with NVIDIA recruiters who provided valuable feedback on my resume, making me even more confident going into my sophomore fall recruiting. RTC's community makes me feel less alone, and in male-dominated rooms where I feel alone, I'll open up more doors of opportunity, creating space for other women. I hope to break more boundaries and make tech more accessible through RTC, giving back to a community that has given me so much.

Being part of Rewriting the Code (RTC) has really changed my life. Coming from a background where opportunities are hard to find, I know how tough it can be to access the resources needed to succeed. RTC has been a guiding light for me, helping me navigate challenges and discover my place in the tech world. From the very beginning, RTC welcomed me with open arms. The mentorship and resources I received were exactly what I needed. It’s incredible how just meeting a few key people can open doors I never thought possible. The support I’ve found here has not only helped me build important skills but has also given me the confidence to tackle real-world challenges. Thanks to RTC, I’m chasing my goals with fresh determination. The tools and support from this community have made navigating the tech industry feel much less overwhelming. I’ve had the chance to work on projects that not only help my career but also make a positive impact on others. This journey has shown me that technology is about more than just coding; it’s about creating solutions that truly help people. I really want to encourage other women in tech, especially those from underprivileged backgrounds, to think about joining RTC. This community is something special—it can really change lives. Success isn’t just about personal achievements; it’s about lifting each other up and using our collective strength to make a difference in the tech world. Together, we can inspire future generations of women in technology. At its heart, RTC is more than just a program; it’s a source of hope for anyone willing to dream big despite their circumstances. Being part of Rewriting the Code (RTC) has been such a valuable experience for me, especially as I’ve sometimes struggled to find other women in tech with backgrounds similar to mine. It’s incredibly inspiring to connect with women who share similar experiences and challenges, and who are also navigating their way through the tech industry. On top of that, RTC has provided me with fantastic resources, particularly the UK opportunities channel, which has been a game-changer in helping me discover tech opportunities specifically geared towards women here in the UK. It's empowering to have such a supportive network that makes it easier to stay informed and find new career possibilities.

ReWriting the Code consistently reminds me that I'm never alone. Every time I have a question or am feeling stressed, the amazing women in their community reassure me and help me beat my imposter syndrome. There is really nothing like the incredible support you receive from this loving community.

Rewriting the Code has empowered and supported me in my journey in tech by encouraging me to keep persisting and by surrounding me with like-minded women who are at all different paths and taught me to never compare myself. Women in computing should participate in communities like Rewriting the Code because the future of computer science and who represents it and what decisions are being made depends on who’s developing it. Women should at its forefronts to participate in conversations and contribute to bridging gaps. AI and new technologies are constantly transforming the tech landscape and our broader society, so we need our communities like RTC to help lead this transformation. Success looks like becoming an analyst and working at a company, having stability and the freedom to express my ideas and enact positive change in our ecosystems. I hope to build my professional soft and hard skills, being a well-rounded individual.

Being part of RTC has been an incredibly empowering experience for me. From the start, I've been connected with a supportive network of women who truly understand the challenges we face in tech. The career resources and sense of community have boosted my confidence. Attending the RTC event in London was a standout moment. Meeting inspiring women in person and hearing their stories deepened my connection to the community. It also reminded me why spaces like RTC are so important for women in tech. I believe every woman in tech should join communities like RTC. The relationships and guidance I’ve gained have been invaluable, both professionally and personally. To me, success means continuous growth, staying true to my values, and uplifting others along the way. RTC has helped me pursue this vision, and I hope to inspire more women to join and thrive together.

Rewriting the Code has empowered my journey in tech! As an undergrad, unsure of my place in such a competitive field, it is difficult to look around in class and only see a handful of other girls in a large lecture hall. It can feel like I don't belong. Thankfully, I found RTC through a peer! Connecting with this community has made me feel at home within CS! It feels great to be apart of something larger and connect with girls that give me confidence, which is why I think every women in CS needs to have that kind of connection to a community. To me, success is making this space inclusive and innovative. Changing the world through code is a team effort!!!!

Rewriting the Code has been instrumental in my growth within the tech industry. It provided me with opportunities to connect with a supportive community of students and professionals, offering both mentorship and peer guidance. Through the platform, I was able to attend high-impact conferences such as Harvard WeCode and Grace Hopper, which exposed me to diverse perspectives and expanded my network. The skills I honed and the connections I made were pivotal in securing my internship with Bank of America this past summer, an opportunity that has further fueled my passion for data science and technology. Participating in communities like Rewriting the Code offers a supportive environment that not only fosters growth but also combats the isolation often felt in tech as a woman or person of marginalized gender. It’s a space that empowers members by providing access to mentorship, resources, and professional opportunities that may not always be readily available. Being part of this community helps individuals build confidence, develop essential technical and leadership skills, and connect with like-minded people who understand their unique challenges. Ultimately, these communities help bridge the gap and create equitable opportunities for success in tech. For me, success is about continual learning, growth, and making meaningful contributions to the tech industry. In my career, it looks like being able to tackle complex data science problems, influence decisions that uphold ethical standards, and advocate for diversity in tech. Personally, success means staying connected to communities like Rewriting the Code, mentoring others, and giving back to the next generation of tech leaders. It’s about creating a career that not only advances my skills but also contributes to a more inclusive and responsible tech industry for the future to come.

Rewriting the Code has been such a meaningful part of my journey in tech, connecting me with an amazing community of women who have inspired and supported me along the way. Before RTC, I struggled to find a sense of belonging during my past internships and on my college campus, I felt lonely and disconnected. But this past summer was completely different. Through RTC’s Summer Tech Hub events, I made genuine friendships and found a sisterhood I NEVER thought I could have in tech. These wonderful women became my rock, and even after the summer ended, we’ve stayed close like we never left each other. RTC didn’t just help me grow professionally, it gave me a sense of community and belonging that I will treasure forever.

Rewriting the Code has empowered me in several ways. One of the key benefits has been the resume review events, where I could connect with multiple recruiters and employees to get valuable feedback on my resume. Unlike similar events on my campus, which are often limited in time and participation slots, these resume reviews spanned several days, allowing me more engagement opportunities. The Slack channel has also been beneficial, providing a space to ask questions, address concerns, and receive advice from peers and mentors who are always willing to share their experiences. It truly feels like a warm, supportive community.Additionally, receiving a LeetCode subscription through Rewriting the Code significantly helped me prepare for technical interviews and enrich my abilities. Participating in Rewriting the Code has given me continuous support and opportunities for growth. The chance to network, get feedback, and learn from others in the field helps build confidence and provides valuable resources that are difficult to find in other settings.

t all started with seeing Rewriting the Code on many LinkedIn profiles. At first, I wasn’t sure what it was exactly, but curiosity got the better of me, and I decided to explore further. I quickly learned that it’s a remarkable organization focused on empowering women in tech, providing a platform to connect, learn, and even secure jobs. I knew right away that I wanted to be part of it, especially since I was actively searching for new opportunities. So, I applied, and in July 2024, I was approved! My portal was activated, and I felt excited to dive in. What I discovered was a community of genuine, inspiring people who are deeply committed to helping each other grow and succeed. One of the most valuable tools they have is their Slack workspace. It’s a vibrant space where people post questions, share resources, and offer help. The community is always buzzing with interesting discussions—whether it's tech-related, about job openings, or personal growth. I got so many benefits from there too. Not only did I find advice and support, but I also learned from the experiences and knowledge shared by others. It became an additional source of learning, motivation, and encouragement. Through the portal, I connected with amazing individuals, including someone from GoDaddy who was kind enough to schedule a meeting with me. The people I spoke with were so eager to help, it reaffirmed why Rewriting the Code was such a special place. Then, out of the blue, I received a LinkedIn request from Sue Harnett, the Founder & CEO of Rewriting the Code. It felt surreal! She took the time to chat with me about my current situation and encouraged me to participate in the Virtual Summit 2024, where 30+ companies were scheduled to attend. She said it was a fantastic opportunity, and she was absolutely right. The summit turned out to be one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had. I met recruiters from incredible companies, had insightful one-on-one discussions, and gained valuable feedback from engineers and professionals in the industry. Each conversation boosted my confidence and gave me new perspectives on my career path. Rewriting the Code has been an incredible journey, not just in terms of networking or job search but also in terms of personal growth. The Slack community, the inspiring members, and the resources have given me so much more than I expected. It’s a place where women in tech truly support each other, and being part of it has been nothing short of transformative.

Participating in the Rewriting the Code has had a very significant impact on my technological journey. It’s a platform that is instrumental in me meeting so many like-minded women in tech and their resources have indeed given me guidance to sail through the setbacks and to blossom both professionally and personally. The experience of being involved and the motivation to stay on track even in the hard times have changed my personality and competence the most. It was not only a network; it is a place where I can constantly be a learner, sharing personal anecdotes and help others in return. I think computing is a place for women where they should be part of communities like Rewriting the Code because the latter embodies a sense of solidarity and mentorship hard to find elsewhere. Tech, sometimes, can be quite lonely, especially for women, and having a group that actively advocates for teamwork and development more is a perfect channel to break such walls. The places do contribute not only to a sharper technical skillset but also to the strength that is necessary for the industry. Success for me, both in my professional and personal life refers to the act of being continuously a bettering and constructive expression of ideas and practices in technology and finding the harmony of life doing this. The challenge of technology in my career and my growth comes with the constant search for new opportunities to make a difference. It is a lot of fun to experience difficulties and triumph, but it is even more gratifying when I see the people whom I have assisted during their difficult times thriving.

I joined RTC last year September after attending GHC 2023, where I saw a large group of women at the conference representing RTC. I immediately wanted to be part of the group since RTC was so supportive to women students and engineers, and was actually taking actions to support us, especially in tough times. After I joined, I explored several channels in the RTC server, and was surprised to find out there are always groups of people sharing the same interests with me no matter what I am looking for to engage in. I also found a group of RTC members to participate in a hackathon together! I see RTC as a big community that I find my comfort in, I’d continue to be a member and would love to contribute when I can give back!

Coming from an underrepresented background in tech, I have often felt the weight of navigating a landscape where role models who share my unique lived experiences are scarce and expectations and pressures for me to succeed are high. The challenges that I have encountered, from constantly needing to prove my capabilities to asserting my belonging in spaces where my presence is often questioned, have shaped my journey in tech profoundly. I will never forget the moment I took a look around the room of a national high school math competition five years ago and something being immediately clear- very few people there looked like me. It truly shocked me that less than one fifth of the participants were girls. Ever since, I have been committed to shaping a more inclusive tech industry, and I will forever be grateful for communities like Rewriting the Code that have unlocked the doors to a world of previously unimaginable possibilities for me. Throughout my undergraduate career, RTC has continually been a safe space for me to build meaningful connections with other inspiring women pursuing tech. This organization has empowered me to feel welcomed and celebrated as I strive to achieve my goals. The mentorship that I have received from members who have been in similar positions as me in the past has been invaluable in helping me develop the confidence to use my voice to advocate for myself throughout my journey in tech. I believe that all women in computing should join communities like Rewriting the Code because when we rally behind each other, there are no limits to what we can accomplish. The scale of our community is unparalleled and can lead to a wealth of opportunities for both professional and personal growth. The friends that we meet will be our friends for a lifetime, and the impact that we are spearheading is the pathway to a more equitable future in tech. To me, success in my career is crafting compelling stories and comprehensive visions to build platforms that seek innovative solutions for humanity, leveraging leadership, community, and passion to drive tangible change, and incessantly pushing the limits of my knowledge about anything and everything. In my personal growth, success is finding the courage to believe in myself and to achieve my full potential while inspiring others to do the same and living to become the best person that I can be.

Hi, I am an international student doing my masters in UGA. I heard about the RTC Community by a friend of mine and I found it's resources quite useful. I have had the chance to meet some new people here and it was always fun to chat with a mentor who would help me figure out what i could do better to overcome some hurdles and helped me with my resume and job applications!! But more than all that, it feels good to be a part of some community where I feel I belong and will have my back if necessary. I am truly grateful to be the part of this community.

As a first-generation low-income college student, I was not as prepared for college as most students were. Everyone I had met in my first week of college came from a wealthy background and were all majority white. They all seemed prepared for what was to come, while I felt incredibly lost. During my first-year programming class, I recall feeling lost and overwhelmed by the content. It was my first time ever coding and though I attend a historically women’s college, I still often felt that there was a competitive spirit among my classmates that I had assumed would not be as present compared to a co-ed institution. During our first lab, I remember my professor asking why we were interested in taking this class. One of my classmates answered, “my parents told me to. They’re both in computer science, as well as two of my uncles.” Through that class, I realized that many of my peers did not share the same passion for coding as me and were there for other reasons. When joining Rewriting the Code last year, it was refreshing to see how everyone truly does care about computer science. Communities like Rewriting the Code represent an opportunity to be part of a collaborative environment with an endless amount of connections. The advice and Latinas affinity group channels are supportive and helpful, and it’s been motivating for me to see other Latinas making huge leaps forward in their careers. I think women should participate in communities like Rewriting the Code since it’s one of the very few places that one will find where everyone is looking out for each other. Whether it’s bringing up a career-related opportunity, attending the RTC fairs, or making random jokes, everyone can make a contribution and difference in someone’s daily life even as they’re looking through the Slack channels. Overall, Rewriting the Code has been impactful in my tech journey this past year. As someone from an underrepresented background and gender in tech, this community has helped me feel less isolated and overcome imposter syndrome. I also feel more confident about my identities and about acquiring the software engineering roles at nonprofits that would fit my definition of success. As for personal growth, I feel that communities like Rewriting the Code have helped me acquire the success I need.

Because of RTC, I have been able to network with peers and with professionals. One example was connecting with a girl from the University of Waterloo and participating in Hack the North with her. We both didn't know anyone participating and decided to team up. We met in person the first day and had a blast getting to know each other and our other teammates that we met through the Hack the North slack. We truly had a memorable experience, made a cool project leveraging the APIs of sponsors and presenting the project in front of successful professionals, notably an Executive at Y Combinator.

I joined Rewriting the Code during my sophomore year, just as I was becoming more aware of the gender disparity in my field. Walking into my first Computer Science lecture, it was hard to ignore the fact that over 70% of my peers were male. Most of my professors were men, and it often felt isolating to be one of the few women in the room. RTC came into my life at a crucial time, offering me not just a network, but a community of women who were navigating the same challenges. RTC empowered me by providing a safe and supportive space where I could connect with other talented female students and engineers. It was comforting to be part of a group that understood my experiences, and it helped me regain confidence when I felt outnumbered or uncertain. The summer hub events I attended during my internship in the Bay Area and the career summits hosted by RTC allowed me to meet women who were thriving in tech. These interactions gave me a sense of belonging and showed me that I wasn’t alone in my journey. I believe that other women in computing should participate in communities like RTC because they offer more than just resources—they offer solidarity. In a field where we’re often the minority, having a strong support system can make all the difference. It’s a space where we can lift each other up and, in turn, create a more inclusive future for all women in tech. For me, success is not just about technical achievement—it’s about growth, both personally and professionally. I want to excel in my field, but I also want to make sure that I’m contributing to all women in tech.

When joining RTC over three years ago, I could never have imagined what joining this community would mean for me at the start of my undergrad, skeptical about pursuing a technical degree. Since joining RTC, the question of whether I would pursue a technical career quickly became how I would do so. The support and community I found here played a huge role in making it easier for me to navigate the huge tech industry.

Rewriting the Code is by far the most active community for women in tech that I have been a part of. Most recently, I attended an RTC x NVIDIA event, where I not only learned about the Ignite internship in-depth, but also heard from past Ignite interns offering their experience and advice. Linda's story was inspiring, and she was so open to helping RTC members who had any additional questions for her. With the competitive atmosphere in the tech industry, especially with the market nowadays, it truly warms my heart to see women who prioritize compassion and supporting their community over anything else.

Rewriting the Code has empowered and supported me by providing valuable job search resources, such as LeetCode and the Slack community. These resources make me feel supported because the community interaction gives me the sense that others are also working hard alongside me. Additionally, Rewriting the Code often hosts events, which makes me feel connected—I can meet friends from diverse backgrounds at any time and in any place, so I don't feel lonely when visiting new cities. Moreover, I received LeetCode Premium from Rewriting the Code’s sponsor, for which I am extremely grateful. As a student without a source of income, this support allows me to access a crucial tool for my job search without being constrained by my financial situation. I believe other women in computing should participate in communities like Rewriting the Code because it provides an opportunity to connect with people who share similar goals and are willing to support each other. It's also a great chance to meet experienced professionals in the industry, gain insights, and potentially form lasting friendships. To me, success can be defined in both the short term and long term. In the short term, success means working in a role and industry that interests me and fosters personal growth. In the long term, it means working in a nonprofit organization, helping those in need, and applying my skills to make a meaningful impact.

Rewriting the Code has been a constant, supportive pillar of my growth within tech for many years. I enrolled in college as a pre-med Biochemistry major, but as I began to shift towards the tech industry and computer science, RTC provided me with so many resources and so much information through discussion forums and events. Usually, these sort of conversations are reserved for exclusionary male-dominated environments in tech - I’ve noticed many boys or men in tech share such information with each other but women often lack the same communities or casual opportunities. RTC really bridged that gap and uplifted many of us in a structured way. I’m now a Product Manager and am pursuing a part-time Masters in Data Science from UC Berkeley. RTC was a big part of my journey in getting here and developing confidence.

Being part of Rewriting the Code has honestly been such a game-changer for me as a sophomore in computer science. The community has connected me to so many resources I wouldn't have found on my own—whether it’s advice on internships, coding challenges, or just talking with other women who are navigating the same things I am. Knowing there’s a whole network of fellow students and professionals who’ve been in my shoes makes it feel less intimidating, and I’ve gotten so much support that has helped boost my confidence in this field. I think every woman in computing should join communities like RTC because it’s a space where you’re genuinely understood. Tech can sometimes feel lonely or overwhelming, but having a group of women who are cheering you on and offering guidance makes a world of difference. It’s more than just networking—it’s about building each other up and sharing the tools we need to succeed. For me, success is about growing, learning, and making steady progress. It’s about landing internships, learning new skills, and becoming more confident in my abilities. Success, to me, is also seeing that I’ve helped other women grow alongside me.

I stumbled upon Rewriting the Code through another member's LinkedIn post where they were describing how supportive the community was. As a first-year who started university during a Covid year and had to find community virtually, RTC was a beacon of hope! Everyone I met through this community was willing to have a coffee chat, share advice or support me in any way they could. The mentorship program helped set me up for success during my first-ever Big Tech recruiting cycle and my mentor gave me actionable tips that lead me to getting an offer from Microsoft Explore. Out of all the conferences I've been to, RTC's conference always has representatives willing to review resumes or share tips on doing well in the process. It's a supportive community I've relied on throughout my undergrad and even had a chance to give back to now as a New Grad! Given it's global reach, if you're ever looking for someone in a specific field, RTC typically has that person and they are always open to connecting.

I have been a member of Rewriting the Code for a few years. There have been several ways that Rewriting the code has empowered and supported my journey in tech. I enjoy the company events Rewriting the Code partners with throughout the year. These events have provided invaluable information about the tech industry, job opportunities, and networking opportunities. I have also enjoyed participating in Rewriting the Code’s Virtual Career Summit, which feels like a mini virtual Grace Hopper. I am grateful for the opportunities Rewriting the Code provides each year during the recruiting season. I have utilized Rewriting the Code’s Resource Library to gain more information on different fields in the tech industry. Something I have actively participated in is Rewriting the Code’s slack channel. Other Rewriting the Code members have posted additional opportunities and deadline reminders for important programs or jobs on slack, which has kept me on top of things. I joined a leetcode study group with other Rewriting the Code Members this past summer and completed the Top Interview 150 Questions on leetcode. Other women should participate in communities like Rewriting the Code because I believe we learn and preserve together. If you don’t have a community of CS women in your school, you will always have a community here.

I joined RTC in my senior year of college, and since then, I’ve been fortunate to enjoy the strong community of women, the vast networking opportunities, and the valuable insights into the tech recruiting process and industry. The resources and mentoring I received from other women in the organization have been super helpful during the recruiting process as a new grad entering the field. Initially, I was nervous about entering a career in tech, a traditionally male-dominated field, and I struggled a lot with imposter syndrome. However, the support from RTC has helped me realize that there are women who are going through a similar experience and I’m part of a community that uplifts one another. Living in Seattle, I’ve particularly enjoyed the early career events hosted by RTC, like dinners and city explorations, where I’ve had the chance to meet other amazing women and form lasting friendships. I believe that every woman should join RTC because of the network of support when navigating the challenges of the tech world. For me, success in my career looks like having a job that provides a strong work-life balance, where I can continuously grow and learn as a software engineer through taking on challenging and rewarding projects. It's also about meeting both my personal and financial goals, where I am able to work towards becoming a better version of myself every day. I also believe I am privileged enough to be able to give back to the community through mentorship and volunteering. My experiences mentoring other students through RTC and leading sessions on technical interview patterns (tech interview intensive program back in 2022) have been some of the most fulfilling parts of my journey, as I’ve had the chance to inspire the next generation of women entering tech.

These communities provide encouragement, mentorship, and opportunities that are crucial for career advancement in a male-dominated field. Success to me is seeing a sisterhood of women excelling in their careers, empowered by their skills and supported by a strong community. It's about personal growth alongside a network of peers who are also thriving in tech.

Access to a strong NETWORK (NETWORTH??) of women in tech, offering resources and a platform to share experiences. RTC's focus on community and collaboration has been invaluable in empowering me to stay motivated and find support during pivotal moments in my tech career. Four years ago, a friend of mine mentioned RTC to me and I was amazed by the mission and vision of the community. At that time, I was looking for ways to connect with other women in tech, and RTC seemed like the perfect fit. The idea of being part of a bigger network that not only empowers women but also offers opportunities for learning, mentorship, and career growth really resonated with me. I joined shortly after and have been incredibly grateful for the journey in tech since.
To a degree that we seldom realize, we depend upon the participation of others in our lives, and upon our own participation in the lives of others. Our success and effectiveness as persons is based upon this participation, and upon an ability to maintain a controlling competence in communicating with others.” I think this holds very true especially because we rely so much on the active involvement of others and how our own contributions shape relationships and personal success -- thereby allowing us to navigate complex social and professional landscapes, fostering collaboration, mentorship and knowledge sharing. Being part of a community like “Rewriting the Code” ensures that women in computing not only receive the much needed support but also contribute to the success of others this way maintaining both competence and influence, and shaping the broader tech landscape.
Success is about a balance between achieving professional milestones and continuing to evolve as a whole person. To be an ideal intellectual: be genuinely curious about the world and eager to learn as much as I can. Continuously learning and staying curious, contributing meaningful work that aligns with my values. It's in the feeling to know that the work I do plays a direct role in enriching the overall user experience while maintaining a sense of purpose and passion. It’s in the idea of maintaining a healthy work-life balance, making time for self-care, and continually working on self-improvement.

Rewriting the Code has been a transformative experience for me. It provided not only technical resources but also a strong sense of community. Through mentorship, networking opportunities, and workshops, I gained the skills and confidence to navigate the tech landscape. The supportive environment encouraged me to take risks and pursue projects I was passionate about, ultimately helping me find my niche in the industry.

During my early career preparation, I actively immersed myself in the developer community. Beyond contributing to external open-source projects, I actively participated in career development events, workshops, and meetups. These experiences were invaluable in honing my technical skills, expanding my professional network, and gaining insights from seasoned industry experts. Through these interactions, I was able to learn about emerging technologies, best practices, and industry trends, ultimately strengthening my foundation for a successful career.

Since joining Rewriting the Code in August, I’ve gained more confidence seeing so many like-minded women in tech. I recently posted about starting a Kaggle project as a beginner and was amazed at how many responses I got from people wanting to collaborate. It feels so encouraging, and I’ve already started working with a few of them, which has been an incredible boost for both my career and personal development. The community here is so supportive, and I’ve also been using the internships channel to apply for opportunities, which has been really helpful. I think every woman in tech should join a community like this. It’s motivating, and you never feel like you’re alone or less capable. It pushes you to work harder and be proud of your progress. To me, success looks like being a better person today than I was yesterday. Professionally, it’s about using my skills to solve problems, making an impact, and growing in my career.

Being part of the RTC community has been transformative for me, especially as a woman in tech navigating through the various challenges in this field. RTC has provided me with a platform to connect with like-minded women, offering mentorship, resources, and a sense of belonging that is often missing in male-dominated spaces. The community's support has empowered me to be more confident, seek out leadership roles, and contribute meaningfully to projects and research initiatives in computer science and bioinformatics.
Women in computing need communities like RTC because they foster collaboration, learning, and support in a space that understands the unique challenges women face in tech. From mentorship opportunities to career advice and hands-on workshops, RTC creates a nurturing environment where women can thrive, push boundaries, and lift each other up. It’s a place where we don’t just dream but achieve, together.
To me, success means being in a position where I can innovate and contribute to solving real-world problems through technology while mentoring and supporting the next generation of women in tech. In my career, I aim to continue making impactful contributions in the field of machine learning and data mining, with a particular focus on interdisciplinary research that pushes the boundaries of bioinformatics. Personally, growth means continuously learning, staying curious, and maintaining a balance between professional achievements and personal fulfillment.

Although I just joined Rewriting the Code a day ago, it has already been incredibly empowering. The supportive community has allowed me to connect with other women in computing, share experiences, and start learning from one another. In just a short time, I’ve seen so many new resumes, helpful links, and resources being shared on Slack, which has been invaluable. Even this early, I can feel my confidence growing as I tap into mentorship and resources that help navigate challenges, especially in a male-dominated industry. It’s reinforcing my belief that we belong here, and together we can thrive. I think other women in computing should definitely get involved in communities like Rewriting the Code because they offer the sense of belonging and support that’s often missing in tech spaces. It bridges the gap between what we learn in school and what’s expected in the industry, while also giving access to role models and a network that can guide you throughout your career. These communities encourage you to push beyond your comfort zone and seize new opportunities. To me, success is about continuously learning, taking on exciting challenges, and contributing to impactful work. It’s not just about professional growth, but also about developing as a person—finding the balance between technical expertise and personal fulfillment, and helping others succeed along the way. Success means building a meaningful career that aligns with my values.

Rewriting the Code has been an indispensable part of my journey as a woman in tech, profoundly influencing both my personal growth and professional achievements. When I started my Master's program in Computer Science at Oregon State University, I was eager to delve into advanced topics like machine learning, algorithms, and cloud computing but often felt overwhelmed by the vastness of the tech industry. RTC provided a supportive community where I connected with like-minded women who shared similar challenges and aspirations. Through their mentorship programs, I gained invaluable guidance that helped me navigate internships and job opportunities. Moreover, RTC's focus on diversity and inclusion empowered me to be a part of a movement striving for equality in tech. The confidence and support I received from the RTC community were crucial in my accomplishments. As RTC celebrates reaching 30,000 members, I reflect on how this organization has been a cornerstone in my journey—providing mentorship, fostering connections, and igniting a passion to support other women in technology. Being part of RTC not only helped me advance my career but also instilled in me the importance of giving back to the community. I am grateful for the impact RTC has had on my life and excited to see how it will continue to empower women in tech globally.

My first interaction with RTC members was when I attended an event from Liberty Mutual and RTC. Unlike any other events I was amazed by the warmth and belonging that I felt at that event and walked back with happy memories. I take a lot of pride in being a part of this community of amazing women working to lift each other up and aspire to support them and give back to the community just like they are doing. Thank you so much RTC, glad to be a part of this organization :)

I joined RTC back in my freshman spring when my friends and I participated in and won an award from the annual Black Wings Hacks Hackathon. After the joys and triumphs of the hackathon, I had a feeling I would not be doing much with RTC in the future, since I had no clue what the organization did. It wasn't until RTC's partnership with Northeastern University that I began to understand the missions and values of RTC and how important the organization would be for my personal and career growth. As a third year who has already secured a Summer 2025 internship thanks to RTC, I cannot thank this organization enough for guiding me every step of the way. For anyone like me from freshman year who thinks they should not get involved with this community, I promise you that RTC has a lot to offer.

RTC helped me meet like minded women in STEM and form enriching connections. Within two weeks of joining the community I have been able to become a part of a couple exciting projects by networking with amazing women that will help progress my career. I have received invaluable help and support from the community in an impressively short time.

I am a new member at RTC and I am absolutely taken aback by the support provided by this community. I have never seen such a positive and helpful community. I'm thrilled to be a part of it and aim to give back to it as much as possible.

Rewriting the Code has provided me a community network to connect with other women and non-binary folks in tech, as well as resources to career development opportunities. This is a unique, empowering space for support, connection, networking, and career growth for women in tech, especially those who are students and early career. For example, last year I was able to attend a self-care + professional development session, which gave me an initial opportunity to connect with a company recruiter and I ended up interning there this past summer! I also attended the career fair and virtual event for preparing to succeed in a summer internship. Success not only means achieving my career goals and participate in impactful academic/professional projects, but also continuing to learn, grow, connect, seek support and give support while being part of the RTC community. Thank you, RTC!

Rewriting the code has empowered me by giving me a community of women that shares the same growth and aspirations like myself. The meetups, career fairs, networking opportunities and workshops have been very vital to my growth. I encourage more women to join this organization if want to learn from other women in technology and if you love seeing women in technology thrive and achieve success. Success to me means continuous improvement in my career and life in general

Through RTC, I found a network of peers and mentors who understand the unique challenges faced by women in tech, boosting my confidence and helping me navigate the industry. The organization's workshops and webinars have complemented my formal education, keeping me updated with the latest industry trends and technologies. Looking ahead, I carry with me the lessons, support, and inspiration gained from RTC. As I prepare for my upcoming internship at TikTok in Seattle, I'm committed to not only advancing my career but also to giving back to the community that has supported me. My story is still being written, but thanks to organizations like RTC, I'm confident in my ability to overcome challenges, seize opportunities, and make a significant impact in the world of technology. I hope to continue this cycle of support and empowerment by mentoring and inspiring other women in tech as I progress in my career.

I've met some of my absolute favorite people through RTC! As a Latina in STEM, it's rare to see myself reflected in the workforce, but RTC has given me a community that truly inspires and uplifts me. Representation matters, and having friends who understand your journey makes all the difference. To me, success means thriving in tech while staying true to who I am—and RTC makes that possible!

RTC's support has empowered me to embrace my identity as a woman in computing and use it as a strength in a male-dominated field. Tech can sometimes feel isolating, especially for women. Communities like RTC create a strong, supportive network that offers resources, encouragement, and inspiration. Women in tech should join because it fosters connections, opens doors to opportunities, and reminds us that we’re not alone. At RTC, we can collaborate, learn, and mentor each other, all while challenging stereotypes and advancing gender diversity in the industry. With RTC, I’ve seen firsthand how collaboration, whether through discussions, mentorship, or workshops, can uplift an entire group. For me, success is measured by continuous learning and the positive impact I can make. As a graduate student working on data mining and machine learning, success means developing solutions that not only advance technology but also solve real-world problems. It’s also about becoming a leader in my field, someone who uplifts others, especially women entering tech. Personally, success includes finding a balance between professional achievements and personal well-being, ensuring that my work in tech allows me to grow intellectually and live a fulfilling life.

Rewriting the Code has been a positive force in my tech journey, offering mentorship and resources tailored for women. It has fostered a sense of community and belonging, which is invaluable as I navigate my career, and I have found it greatly useful for the upcoming Grace Hopper Conference, connecting with like-minded individuals and reading into what others have to say. Communities like Rewriting the Code are crucial because they provide support, networking, and opportunities for growth, which is something I have greatly benefitted from. Success, to me, involves continuous learning and making meaningful contributions while uplifting others. It’s about achieving professional milestones and creating a supportive environment for fellow women in tech, echoing the spirit of collaboration that Rewriting the Code fosters.

Rewriting the Code has empowered me by providing a supportive community that boosts my confidence and motivation in tech. It has shown me that with the right support, I can achieve more than I thought possible. (I attended my first ever college conference _HarvardWecode because of RTC :) and it was truly an extraordinary experience. Women in computing should participate in communities like Rewriting the Code to gain a supportive network that helps them realize their full potential.
