I've always wanted to learn Motion Builder since a while back, but have been putting it off because the software's industrial interface intimidated me. The Motion Editing 101 course offered me the best help into learning the basics of Motion Builder, and now I feel much more confident diving into more aspects of the software. In this course, Simon gives concise and well-thought-out lessons. The course is well-paced and it's especially useful for those who already have a little bit of background in other 3D software. I really appreciated that this course included project files with motion capture data so that you can follow along and try things yourself. Highly recommended for anyone looking to learn Motion Builder!

Very comprehensive motion builder/ motion editing course, goes through the entire process of getting mocap clips into a production ready state. Really good tips on what to look for when making cycles for game engines and how to get them to work seamlessly together. Each video has a clear written summary underneath which I found really helpful for remembering the unique ways of doing things that mobu has.
I highly recommend this course (and all of Mocappys in depth knowledge shared on the website) for anyone wanting to improve their skills in motion builder and gain a better understanding of motion editing.

Technical Animator - Ubisoft Sofia
Motion Editing 101 is a concise introduction to work with mocap data in Motion Builder. As the course progresses Simon builds up over the concepts explained at the beginning on how to edit and manipulate the clips to create a character walk cycle that can be used in games or films. Pointing to the problems an animator my find on the way and showing how to solve them. From the start, when decisions have to be made about which part of the raw data to use, till the end, with a neat presentation on how to render the clips that you would sent for revision, in a production pipeline.
A good starting point for animators willing to learn Motion Builder. And if you already know it, you will still learn good tips to keep under your sleeve for your daily work.
