My son Caleb has been with Ms. Joy for over 2 years. We found her by accident and we are so blessed to have found her! When Caleb (age 11) started lessons with Ms. Joy, his dyslexia was very severe. He struggled with every word he would try to read. It would take 30 minutes to read just one page of a kindergarten level reader. Slowly, but surely, over the next two years, Caleb would grow so much in his reading abilities. He would sometimes seem to have setbacks and other times - seem to forget everything he learned. But Ms. Joy never gave up on him. Now he can read his 6th grade level school work! He still struggles some, but the improvements are incredible. Ms. Joy was encouraging when Caleb wanted to give up. She would smile and laugh and play games and hooray! when he would get the right answers. His confidence has tripled! I, as Caleb's mom am grateful for all the work and investment Ms. Joy has put into my son's learning. As a homeschool mom, stuck in a school district that offered no help for my son because of his age, I am so thankful to have found such a dedicated and knowledgeable tutor that forever has helped my son. Our daughter started with Ms. Joy this year in 1st grade. She looks forward to her sessions and has built on her fluency and confidence! I can’t wait to see the improvements she continues to make this upcoming year!

My child has been with Ms. Joy for two years. She has made great progress in her middle school level English class and enjoys to read books independently in her free time. Ms. Joy is always patient and great with feedback.

Paxton started with Ms.Joy as a third grader who was struggling with basic phonics. He is now a fourth grader who loves to read to his siblings and is finally gaining confidence in himself. We look forward to sessions with her!

My children have been working with Ms. Joy for just over a year now. They have gone from frustrated, stumbling readers to more confident, active readers! Seeing this transformation and the progress they have made is incredible. This has been a learning adventure for all of us; Ms. Joy has a true passion for figuring out each child’s reading difficulties and teaching them skills in ways they understand. Classes are fun, interactive, and easy for the kids to navigate on their own. Homework assignments between classes build on the skills learned and Ms. Joy explains everything to me, so I feel confident helping them. Working with Ms. Joy takes commitment as it is a team effort to teach, learn, and practice reading skills for retention and fluency. It is worth every minute of work when your child starts reading independently for pleasure and not just when they have to for schoolwork. We are so happy we found Ms. Joy!

Joy has been an amazing tutor for my daughter,Lydia. The passion that she has for teaching OG and helping my daughter learn the skills she needs to succeed is unmatched. She created a personalized learning plan that gives her the resources to work through the areas she struggles with. Joy is an incredible person that makes learning fun for all who are lucky enough to know her!!!

My daughter Samantha started with Miss Joy in the fall of 2021, in 2nd grade. We homeschool and learned she was dyslexic so an at-home, Zoom program was a great fit. Samantha really enjoys the games and book suggestions from Ms. Joy. In the last year, Sam has bloomed and began reading fluently and picks up books on her own to read to us! She always tells people how nice her reading tutor is. We can definitely tell Ms. Joy is passionate about teaching and helping her students achieve their full potential!
