I’ve been working with Joanne and Paul on MMIA for a couple of years now and it’s taken my understanding of micro movement and fascia to a whole new level. I now appreciate much more how micro movement can be so powerful and how small, regular steps can bring about big changes. I bring MMIA language, feeling and movement into all my modalities - and my own everyday life. I pay far more attention to my own posture and habits, and I’m much kinder and softer in my approach to movement overall. It’s made me question what came before in terms of queuing and language. Old habits die hard, however, so I still catch myself saying something that just doesn’t make sense any more. Such is the awareness that MMIA work brings! Now I recognise this and I question it. I’ve redesigned my movement classes to include MMIA, and I observe my clients and their movement patterns in a totally new light. It’s revolutionary! I’d recommend Joanne and Paul to anyone because, above all, they bring years and years of practice and teaching to each one of us and it’s always delivered with passion and care. We learn to embody the sensations of MMIA in our own tissues first, and thus can better help others. Personally, I can feel greater ease in my body just through simple yet profound, regular micro movements. I also “talk” to myself in a different way; less aggressive, less pushy, more understanding and with deeper gratitude and feeling. I like to think that this is extended to my clients, and they too are reaping the benefits of this amazing work. Thank you Jo and Paul for your brillance, dedication, time and care. Without question an amazing course! 😊🙏🏻

It has been 6 weeks since I attended the workshop with Joanne and Paul and as they warned us, it took (and will take) some time to notice how the small changes I gradually make in my Pilates lessons will effect my clients. It is an advantage that they were already used to more then just the classical pilates excercises as I gave them foot excercises at the barre (with even more bouncing now), balance excerices standing and use of the balls and bands of the Franklin method. And they have liked the variety and working 'deep' alongside and in addition to the more vigorant pilates excercises. I now learned to be more aware of the 5 R's and weave them in my lessons. A few weeks ago I got a question from one of my male clients which kind of put me off in a very good way. Since 5 weeks he attends a matclass with 4 other men from my village. Two of them were send by their wives who join classes with me, the other 2 heard they were going and were willing to try and one I gave private lessons for a half year and was now ready to join a class. Four of them pick up nicely and experience what the fascia exercises combined with the fascia adjusted pilates excerises do for them. One of them (sent bij his wife) had a serious ski accident a few years ago by which he broke all his ribs. His chest is still sunken at one site and over the years he has developed a civose which is getting worse every year. Nevertheless he is a an extremely dedicated triathlon athlete in his free time and lifts weights. Everything has to be fast and heavy. He is always too late or just in time, can't concentrate and his coordination is really bad. 2 weeks ago he asked what my excercises were supposed to be doing for him, which I found a very good question but also one to think deeply about. I asked him what he expected them to do for him. He hadn't thought about it. I explained that I tried to make small adaptions in his posture with micro movements to at least stop his bump develop further and to open his chest in order to make him breathe more easy. As he never worked this small this was a real revelation to him. I also made clear that ofcourse he could stop anytime if this didn't suit him. This morning his sister was in my class and she told me he was telling their mother that his back felt straighter and was more aware of his posture. Hope he will keep on going. In my pilateslessons bouncing has become more important and... the spine stretch forward which is difficult for most people as of thight hipflexors I don't give anymore in class but clients are welcome to practise them in the 'well' of my reformer which is far more efficient. The totally different way of looking at the whole of my clients, the adaption in excercises and not be afraid to leave things out that don't feel good, have changed my lessons in a way I didn't expect but of which I am very grateful.

This journey has taught me Faith and Patience. Faith in my body, faith in the process, and patience with myself, my healing and others. If you love learning and unlearning, if you want to understand your body on a deeper level and reconnect with yourself-- this journey is absolutely invaluable MMIA has changed how I move, how I teach, how I live in my body. I also look and connect with my clients on a different level. It is simply magical and I am so grateful for Joanne and Paul for guiding me through it

Learning from Joanne and Paul over these past few months has been such a rewarding and inspiring experience. As a bodywork therapist, I’ve started to weave micro-movements into my own practice and also bring them into my work with clients, both on and off the massage table. One of the biggest shifts for me has been learning to use precise language that helps clients tune into the subtle, internal changes happening in their bodies. Among all the techniques, rebound has become my most cherished “R.” What’s shifted for me, especially in practical application, is that it’s no longer about simply encouraging better posture. Instead, it’s about creating a space where clients can really notice how the movement patterns we develop and the emotions we carry influence the shape and integrity of our bodies. I’ve come to see attention as a kind of currency we need if we want to stay vibrant and healthy for the long haul. By gently shifting cues from “fix your posture” to “notice pressure and tension,” clients start to understand how our pre-tension structures are alive, self-organizing, and fluidly responsive, not just through manual therapy, but through micro-movements that continuously reshape our fascia sensory matrix. Personally, I now experience a richer fluidity in my daily awareness of my body continuity. I release the unnecessary tension that emerges when I try too hard. I welcome the pure curiosity and joy of exploring movements I never knew before. I’ve also reconnected deeply to my breath, sensing it as the universal movement within my body. If this resonates with you, I wholeheartedly recommend this course to any bodywork or movement therapist. It has profoundly deepened both my practice and my connection with my living body. What makes it truly special is the heartfelt passion and genuine authenticity that Joanne and Paul bring in sharing the true story of our being. I am deeply thankful.

Joanne & Paul gave loads of info and lovely practical stuff to use straight away. I learned more specific ways to move from the fascia and understand how it works in the body. That allows me to help myself and the people I teach in a very simple and relaxt way to move easy peasy :-) I would recommend working with them to make peoples life easier and stir away from pain & tension. My body feels more relaxt and lighter, a little warming up in the morning, maybe some dancing, some magic movements during the day with ry-thm make the body smile! Da bounce!

1: Joanne and Paul really helpt me to get more convident as a teacher and teacher trainer with more knowledge and understanding about the human body. 2: that we are whole round there is not one straight line in the human body and that changes everything in the way you theach. 3 : more privates , more hours, more teacher training courses. 4: i would definitely recommend this course, be openminded because some things are gonna blow your mind, but then you get the to understand how the body really works and with this insights fascia focused changes everything how you look at the body how to use it, your cueing changes, different words , like spirals and tubes.IT MADE ME A BETTER THEACHER. 5: My participants in groupclasses tell me that they use the micromovements every day like bouching with the ball are use at the office behind there back, my elderly participants walk with more ease, getting on and off the floor with more ease, balance improved, and more feeling off yes i got this( knowing what they have to for example with lower back pain), in my own body more energy , i can do things that i could not do 18 months ago( intermediate pilates exercises) and i have not seen the fysio in all this time.
